As far as the Travis Barker argument goes, he's good for his style, but can't compare to legends like Jim. I mean, in high school Travis was in band, jazz band, etc, so it's not like he's a complete scrub. Nevertheless, he's not the drumming god people say he is.

yes travis barker is good. he is arguably the greatest/one of the greatest drummers of THIS generation. people like dennis chambers, neil peart, jon bonham, and chaplin here could smoke him but you cant really say that travis barker sucks seeing how all other drummers nowadays are using drum machines

@ZDragon94 Bark is a good drummer, but he I would not consider him part of the best of this generation. However, he is overwhelmingly more influential than any other drummer on the younger generations. I would consider Tony Royster Jr. Johnny Rabb, Stanton Moore, and Luke Flowers all better than Travis. But none of them have nearly as much fame or influence. Just my opinion however.

People, please relax! Weckl is awesome , he HAs great technique and he really makes music. The sad thing is, that when he plays something Non-flashy, there hardly is a groove. ( I can say that having seen him play with oz noy) geat drumming, but not really a groove.. A vinnie colaiuta would be better here...  Travis barker is good. not bad. not awesome... I don't hate him, I hate these idiots wo think there is ONE the best . every drummer has his specialty, his Feel.

at least he doesn't suck as much as mister dave weckl or thomas lang. jim chapin said it himself, you can have the greatest technique in the world (both are really far from having) and be the worst musician ever (which is true for both)

@zachthecrack i never said barker was better than weckl, they don't play the same music, there's no comarison. i have been playing the drums for 16 years now, and i have seen so many musicians in so many styles that i can claim my point.

weckl sucks. not as much as thomas lang, but he does. he's an amazing teacher though, but a terrible jazzman. if my statement is stupid to you, then maybe all the teachers at the Agostini drum school in Paris and all the jazz players i know also are.
