  • You want the BEST BURGER ever made ? Well then go to Meriden CT to a Place Called TED'S Restaurant and get a Steamed Cheeseburger. Without a doubt the greatest burger i have ever eaten. Steaming a cheeseburger is the way to go. The place has been featured on MAN V's Food and Hamburger haven's on the travel channel I moved to Meriden 3 yrs ago and I have to say TED's was my one reason for staying here.

  • they should get another shot of that "this is not burger king sign," don't think we got enough of it.

  • I thought they had the sign made special for them until I saw it in several other places. They are nice people and I judge their burgers are great ... even without ketchup.

  • My family was the first to serve hamburgers open faced on sandwich bread in Baltimore in the 1780s, they had it with onion, cheese, bacon and an over easy egg on top. Oh and my family was the first to create the batters for corn dogs and onion rings. Yep and we also created electricity, lasers, the internet, the cell phone, RC cola, the Swiss knife and and and uh,KETCHUP! All before 1894.

  • A very talented family indeed. Though, I might suspect your family's claim about RC cola.

  • @Aldimarvp LOL...I'll tell them that when I use the family's time machine.

  • @2hot2tell What a bunch of psychotic ketchup hating dicks....

  • I bet that dude gets so damn tired of telling people he doesnt serve ketchup

  • yeh, but that is part of the "ambiance" of the place. They make such a big deal about it that people come in just to tease them. And, the burgers taste great without the ketchup.

  • @Aldimarvp Yeah i know i eat all my burgers without ketchup ... and louis lunch has also inspired me to eat all my hamburgers on toast lol even when i grill them

  • I agree, toast does add a different flavor. Thanks for your comments. Have a fantastic week.

  • Did he just eat raw beef ?

  • Yup, but it was a small amount. I guess you can do that with quality good meat.

  • Louis Lunch is not the home to the first American hamburger. Athens, Texas is the home to the first American hamburger, get your facts straight. The first hamburger in America was created by Fletcher Davis around 1880s, he served it at his café at 115 Tyler Street in Athens, Texas. Then he brought them to the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair.

  • Well...we were on a video assignment to make this clip. So please don't shoot the messenger. They do seem to make a good case for being authenticated as being the first hamburger. My question is, why is it called a "hamburger" when there is no "ham" in it? We ran into this problem with some friends from Nepal, who do not eat beef, and ate a "hamburger" thinking it was ham.

  • It's unbelievable to think that this place has been around for over 110 years serving just the basic hamburger on toast. The hamburger must really be good.

  • Oh yes they are.

  • @GreenDeathFlavor OMG THEY ARE! lol i had one for the first time last thursday around 1:30 in the morning lol and im hooked on them now, I will go there everyday if I could, never gets old, amazing

  • @GreenDeathFlavor It doesn't matter if it's good. It's the fact that they've been consistent, stuck to their guns, and haven't buckled under the pressure of the rising corporate scumbags who want to take the soul out of anything decent.

  • u dont need ketchup or fries! it is the best burger

  • yup, we agree. Thanks for posting a comment.

  • dude i had ketchup on it and it makes it 10 times better then it is now

  • lol he ate raw beef.

  • Everyone Go to Louis Lunch in New Haven, CT

  • i asked for ketchup there and they took away my burger and squirted me w/ ketchup and ridiculed me and kicked me out of the place

just kidding! I've never been there

  • Well, I find that hard to believe. I will ask them the next time I am in there.

  • "just kidding! I've never been there"

  • I asked for a burger and they broke both my arms. Bit harsh.

  • @BubbytheTourG hahaha they dont even have ketchup to squirt at you! lol but the burgers are amazing, if you visit New Haven, go there for lunch! Oreder a cheese works, any other burger after that will disipoint you! ps I kid asked for ketchup yesterday and we all chanted "ASSHOLE ASSHOLE" lol he didnt get kicked out though, they used to do that though

  • i can't believe louis is on youtube......i thank god for gracing me to live 10 min. away in the burbs.

  • Glad you enjoy their burgers ... we don't get down there often enough.

  • wtf is that stuff on the toast , peanut butter?

  • Ya know, I should know ... but I don't. I was so busy doing the videography that I didn't pay close attention. All I can say is that the hamburger tasted fantastic. The Guy on camera took a bite out of the burger intended for me. Sheesh.

  • how cum there's not much people? it shuld be crowded!

  • To do the video shoot we went after closing. The place is really small and so as to not interrupt the customers they asked us to come later.

  • ty 4 replying!!

  • Lassen meat is top quality.

  • Yeh, you can taste it in the hamburger. And they are nice people.

  • nice to see that the Louis' legendary prickish staff attitude has translated to the digital medium...the best part though was the old guy slinging meatballs into the hotel pan, straight up gangsta!

  • Yeh, I loved that throw-it-in-the-pan part as well. Ya wanna home-made meataballa, comma here.

  • 4th gen is a stickler for detail. Imagine if you brang some ketsup packets in there. He'd fight ya for sure andkick ya out for life.

  • Well, maybe if you hid in the back he wouldn't catch you putting Ketchup on your burger. My hamburger was fantastic just they way they cooked it.

  • Yuck eating raw ground beef!

  • @RZetlin Since the meat is freshly ground there's really nothing wrong with eating it raw. Ever heard of steak tar-tar?

  • What a great video! Great presenting! Thank-you very much for sharing that. I feel my views are similar to yours when it comes to this kind of stuff. Feel free to drop by and post a comment on my YouTube as well I am new here and could use a little help!

  • Wow - 100 year old grills! That must make for some amazing flavor!

  • Great!! I'm hungry now!!
