  • Oh I'm in love with a girl on a Concerto Generator! You rock on lady of electro goodness!

  • great work

  • This sat unworking at Oberlin from 1986-90 when I was there. I always thought it looked awesome. Today is the first time I ever heard it. I think it sounds like early digital - but in a fantastic way. Love the interface.

  • This synth and other rare one of a kind instruments should be lovingly restored and no longer be forgotten as dusty relics. Machines like the Electronium and Mixture Tratonium should not be left silent any longer. Thank you for uploading this video.

  • they arent dusty relicts, they have so many fans over the world, that for young musicians like me they are much too expensive....

  • I bought a CD with Harald Genzmer's Concerto for Orchestra and Mixturtrautonium Solo (played by Oskar Sala himself) a few weeks ago. It's absolutely amazing how expressive this instrument is in the hands of a true master.

Doepfer makes and sells modules (with a special ribbon controller) so you can build your own Mixturtrautonium.

  • This machine currently resides in the electronic music studio at my school (Oberlin). It's no longer functional, but it sure is fun to look at and try to imagine what all those buttons and levers did.

  • Terry Riley's female counterpart...glorious stuff.

  • she was so far ahead of her time.

  • Is dit the LS van Guitar Display??

  • This video demonstration was also featured on a bonus DVD included within a CD compilation entitled "OHM+: the early gurus of electronic music."

  • I have the OHM cd set and did not see this .. you must have a newer copy..
