adam is one of the nicest people i have ever met, he played a gig in my hometown before with misery index and i was chatting to him after the show, he was giving me advice on dumming etc, absolute gent! and so are the rest of the band

all misery index came and spent the night and partied with me and my buddy saturday they are all wicked dudes we chilled till about 4 am then got up in the mornin ate donuts and chilled got to watch adam go nuts on my buddies electric kit and then they were blown away by my buddies machine that makes flames dance to music we put some misery index in and hooked it up i cant remember who said it but he was like "when i wrote that song i never thought i'd see it in flames"

Hmm, I'm not sure how to react to this guy... Unlike for example George Kollias, who has an excellent technique to play this kind of music on even longer gigs than Misery Index, Jarvis uses power much more, but you can also see it in form of tension. He's not suffering or anything - he survives every gig and manages to play powerful. Though Misery Index does only about 30min shows, so I think he would't last longer than that. It's nice to watch him, despite every that lacks in his ''technique''.

I think playing loose is the best way to gain that kind of speed...being tense just slows u down. And adam doesn't hit the cymbal that hard he just does big gestures but if u look at the cymbal it's not moving that much.

a lot of metal drummers use AAX sabian series, that's what i got, stick will break way before your cymbal will with those, they are tough as hell. i have no worries about breaking them, even my thinner ones. just don't go too nuts. he isnt' even hitting that hard, what are you guys talking about, it's all mic'd

i've got the AAX metal hihats, 20" ride , 20" crash, 10"splash, ice bell, and an AAx metal 15"dark crash, that's the only one I worry about, the rest will break my sticks yes, as long as i dont' use anything over a 5b stick, i tend to stick to 7A sticks now, using more techinque rather than power, nylon tips don't chip away, i hate how my wood tips always chip and have flat spots. pisses me right off.but yea AAX Metal is the series you want for metal, Richard Christy used them, that's why i do.

Hitting the cymbals hard is not a problem at all. Hitting them wrong is a problem and destroys the cymbals.

His hitting technique isn't wrong so... no problem. :)

and to point out the guy below, its a good thing that adam's loose. if you play loose, its mouc more easier to play then playing so tense. who cares if he hits hard, your suppose to hit hard. your suppose to unlike those pussies who use triggers and cant hit hard.
