  • c, g, em,c, d should get you there dude am, em ,g,d, f, c, d for the bridge bit. good luck

  • Very well

  • unbelievable. amazing.

  • Never get tired listening to this. And what a shame Bruce hinself ignores repeatedly this great achievement of his. Different attitude, lacking somewhat the tragic irony. Still captures the mood in its own, less melodramatic way.

  • Wow. I'm a recent Springsteen convert whose just discovered and become entranced by this beautiful song over the past few days. Credit to Bruce for coming up with it, but even he would give you a standing round of applause for this subtle and powerful interpretation. Beautiful.

  • Thank you GLG, I love this song and have done for many years, and just wanted to do it a bit of justice on youtube. i still want to cover more Bruce stuff and that will hopefully be soon. Thank you again!

  • Best song Brucy ever did ! Nice cover mate, you realy done it proud.

  • Very nice.

  • Covering Springsteen can be such a minefield - the highway's jammed with broken attempts that mainly suck. But this one connects, in part because you don't try and do it just like him. And man, those lyrics... Thanks for sharing.

  • cheers tom. i love these songs and there's no way i could sound like bruce, but it's my small attempts to do some justice in my own way. Cheers again!!

  • a rareity... did not expect to see this one being covered...

very well done!!!! i enjoyed this a lot...

I'll keep hunting for 'silver palomino' an even sader song in my opinion...

    all the best!!

  • it's one of the earliest Springsteen songs i can remember that really stuck with me. i was aslo supprised that it wasn't covered in the site. buy that is the last reason i did it. thanks again!!

  • This is just great. I was going to cover this one from Asbury, but did Growin' Up instead. After hearing your version I'm glad I did :)

    -Ron

  • the tempo, the voice and the fingerpicking are absolutely superb. Well done my friend.

  • thanx doc. It's one of those songs that sounds and feels good to play on the acoustic. Simple chords but well put together.

  • Amazing job, great guitar and voice. I'm 16 and want to record some bruce covers of my own (once i get a cam), and this is one I want to do...excellent job

  • Great cover my friend! Yeah indeed this is a sad song, you make wonderful song choice for your covers my friend. Nice performance, keep it up, I'm loving your covers a real treat!!

    -Matt

  • Again Matt, thanks for the great comments, i'm trying to pick songs that i've lover over the years and that can be adapted to my voice and the acoustic. Any song suggestions would be appreciated also.

    Cheers!!

  • Oh great! I didn't know you were taking requests! Well since I see that you're covering a lot of the old stuff and taking under consideration that I too love the old stuff but never had the gut and skills to cover as well as you do. I'd love to see you doing Growin' Up! I think you'd do a great cover... so that's it my request is sent. see ya buddy!

  • Fantastic cover, one of the album's great little hidden gems.

  • Cheers for that CT. I def think the song is overlooked on many reviews of Greetings from, but i'm glad you liked it!

  • I grew up very close to Asbury Park and a lot of the characters in Bruce's songs were well known to all of us. (Scooter = Bruce; he's also the "teen-aged diplomat") but I have no idea who the Angel is...

  • thanks for the kind words bill. That's pretty cool to think you grew up in the same streets and areas that many of the songs talk about.:-)

  • YES! this song is one of my favorites and you've done a great, great job. Both your guitar and vocals are clear as a bell and you're so right - this is a sad, sad song.

  • Another underated song from Greetings from Asbury park, I love the lyrics and although i'm not sure of my vocals on this on, i liked the sound of the guitar.

    Let me know your views,

    Cheers!!
