Oh, God. I had the original Gold version. It was AMAZING. I just got SoulSilver, and I love it. I'll be getting HeartGold soon. If you didn't have a Game Boy, or if you had a Game Boy, but you weren't playing Pokemon, you were deemed a loser!

gold and silver were the best You had 2 regions, which included the best of the best; the kanto region. two new types to have on your team the ability to make eggs shiny pokemon actual color and more detail the ability to hold items real time with day and night the bug catching contest a customizable room a cell phone and having your mom save money and some of the best music out of all the games ahhh, this is really the best Generation ever :D

yes you can run away from a shiny pokemon ..... its just that you were using a gameshark to battle a shiny pokemon .. but when youre using gameshark to encounter a shiny, you can't run away ..

this was probably my favorite gen of pokemon, though its kinda hard to choose between this gen, hoenn, or kanto. i also prefer gold\/silver to crystal.

Only differences are some of the Wild pokemon for example, You can only get a Growlithe or a Teddiursa in Gold or you can only get a Donphan or Skarmory in Silver theres like 8-10 exclusive pokemon for each, im pretty sure crystal has all of them and no exclusives.

Good review! I agree that this was the best in the series. I loved going into Kanto, plus the remixed music was just intense. I really wish that my battery in the game didn't die. :(

sadly they encluded a little bit of silver/gold/crystal in fire red and leaf green so i doubt they'l be remaking it
