  • your dumb bet your sword is all jacked up now

  • Whether your form is bad or not, I think that these destruction tests are a good way to demonstrate how far you can push this sword. You are quite right about most buyers never setting foot in a dojo. I have a few friends who own katanas and they all love to cut bottles. But not one of them have ever been properly trained or have even taken the time to read about how to properly handle a sword. Anyways, good vid my friend :)

  • Its good so many people underestimate Ronin Katana. Lest they raise their prices due to popularity.

  • your Technic is awefulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • U fool !

  • Are these made of tamahagane or carbon steel?

  • how did you miss the first time

  • @monkeyslapper65 correction you caught a piece of it

  • Questo è un folle...; assolutamnete senza tecnica e senza anima! Neanche un bokken dovrebbe maneggiare.

  • Um verdadeiro idiota sem tecnica, quase se machucou.

  • Gah, your form is terrible. The test would be more accurate if you actually use proper form...

  • @GTFOVevo Form has nothing to do with testing in a backyard environment. Form is important for dojo testing. We already know exactly how the swords perform in a dojo. What we are testing is what happens in a backyard when the sword is used like a bat or axe. Considering most sword buyers never set foot in a dojo, this is important information.

  • @Roninkatanas is not sad? i think that Katanas can be a lot sharp edged and can cut a lot more! this demo was awfull it show a very low sharpen katana, i thing those things can event cut huge wood blocks and event metal! and you hardly can cut a silly not to wide stuff?. come on.. whas that really a true traditional katana? it looks not to sharp like the way it suposse to be!!!

  • @Roninkatanas So sure you cant event cut a bull skull in two with a single swim of the edge, right? is not too sharpen like the legends says. Too bad.

  • whel :o i must say , beating up a katana like that hurts my eyes

  • If u want to get a good katana or eny other kind of weapon blunt or sharp check out Coold Steal

  • @BurnedRedemption Ronin > Cold Steel by a mile.

  • @BurnedRedemption Check into this guy's swords. Real silk on the handle and a great heat-treat. He sends some to torionsword to do 3rd party destructive testing and gets outstanding results (unbreakable tsuka?). And free shipping to US/Can customers. I'm buying one, forget Cold Steel.

  • @BurnedRedemption LoL dude, Cold Steal is shit tier!

  • @DeadMau955 that´s what u think not me

  • you have to learn how to use a sword befor testing... i think you never seen a sword broking in fight....it's very dangerouse. if you are professional please show the good voice...sory for my very bad english

  • what a cruel way to behave to the world's finest and most elegant weapon of all times... same on you man... if you have at least some respect to what this weapon-work of art represents please remove the video

  • Fail!

  • lol Good job fucktard. I relly hope you cut a limb off.

  • Irresponsibility at its worst. I can't believe they're not bleeding. Total insult to anyone who has respect for safety. User, please remove.

  • @asoundlikesilence This is destruction test. What are we testing? What happens when people do things with swords they were not designed for. I think most would agree that it is rather pertinent data for a sword company to have.

Safety? Ronin breaks more blades, and sends more blades out for testing than any sword company in the world. That is precisely why so many dojos use the pro line and why year after year the reviews are postive. Google Ronin Katana review.

  • @asoundlikesilence Lack of quality control is irresponsible.

  • @Ghelimir You know, I think I've changed my mind about this video. Poor swinging form perhaps, but accidents happen and this makes a good illustration of what happens on a bad swing. It could happen to anyone. The difference is these guys do it on purpose so we don't have to. Recently I hit my cutting stand pretty badly, it looked a lot like this.

  • @asoundlikesilence Not to mention the fact that it's hilarious.

  • @asoundlikesilence im not saying he is bad or enything i like his videos and the content in them

  • let me tell you something you should go to an aikido, kendo or aiki-jutjutsu dojo and learn first with the buken because the way that you are using that katana is going to be lethal but for your self

  • @ELkamikaze29 sure is not the proper form but is too dangerus to use such tool in such a way?

  • cant u cut straight?

  • Do you even know how to wield a katana properly? You're not supposed to cut with it like you cut with a fucking axe,you moron! And not against plywood! If you don't know how to wield it,try and learn how before buying one,you fucking idiot!!!

  • @ProSatanic8932 Channel ban. You may want to rethink how you post on You Tube partner channels. They keep track of who partners ban.

By the way, what we are doing, is simulating what our customers do in their backyards so we can better understand how our swords respond to stress.

  • @ProSatanic8932

Hello, I am a 5 star Ronin blade wielder. You are right he is not doing it right at all.

    Plywood dont fight back either

  • who's this fool

  • Fail.

  • EVERYBODY.. ITS DESTRUCTIVE TESTING. ITS TESTING THE DURABILITY OF IT. NOT CUTTING. NOT SKILL. UGH

  • mwree mpouli mlk

  • this makes no sense

  • Big moron.

  • your not the ninja tipe.......

  • this was so bad.

  • everything in here is so wrong.

the swing of his sword makes him inaccurate of his target.

    the way hit.

he can even cut his own left legs,

  • THESE GUYS crack me up looks like fun . try water jugs or something and work on your right foot at the same time as sword comes thru hit your mark softly 100 times before hard one time you will get alot better

  • oh your cool

  • plls stopp it dont kill this blade >.<

  • OMG retards 'r us have dumped their "best" on your lawn, roninkatana makes a decent sword but they no jack-shit about using one, A KATANA IS FOR SLICING AND STABBING NOT CHOPPING!!!! LMFAO

  • Not enough of sharp

  • wow hes going to lose a fucking limb

  • this is weird ..

  • that Katana is made in China!

  • @plus24seven Doesn't matter where a sword is from, It's the quality of the sword that counts and the care that goes into making it. I've seen $200 Katanas from China that are much higher quality than $2,000 Katanas from Japan. They manufacture cheap swords in Japan just as much as they do in China.

  • @zombiesite1 - I'm not sure about Higher quality part dude!!.. I'm not sure what they made from! since its that cheap!

  • more baseball fans... sheesh... its a sword, use it as such.

  • Whoa, chill out all of you... The maker of the video is affiliated with the makers of that katana, the destruction test was a demonstration of the reliability and resiliency of the sword.

  • Imagine using it against a zombie @_@

  • SHUT UP ALL ! HE DO HIS BEST AND HE WILL LEARN.

  • they are not swinging correctly...they swing like Vikings. a katana will cut through a human body with the right form. these guys are just some good'ol boys having fun. nothing wrong with that but none the less a katana is an elegant tool with immense cutting power and they have no idea what they are doing.

  • @85kudos thats we it looks like the katana cant cut anything properly? is because of his bad swinging skill?

  • omg! funny =)) daniels coment! (danieleluiz) XD really funny! XD thumbs up!

  • u are realyy dubass and sucks whit a sword.......give us breack and go back to dojo antr try to beguiner whit a small knif please......

  • i was hoping the katana would pass thru the plywood and end up slicing your toes off cuz you're so untrained...

  • oh wow. this is sad.

  • u need skills with swords too...

  • Why the fuck would you need a destruction test for a samurai sword that is used for precision... damn dumb ass.

  • Dude thats not good for the sword . How stupid could a human be ?? You answered this question with your video xD .

Swords are not for playing , and omg an destroying test ?? Sword are for cutting and not for destroying -.- .

Buy you dynamit then you can destroy dude =P .

  • he is holding katana like cricket bat....lol

  • fail

  • asta golpeando con la empuñadura ago mas daño Q tu

  • It's a sharp sword. You need to work on you form though.

  • extremely gay.

  • This sword this fagot is using is not qualified to be named/called "sword".

There are pieces of stik that cut better than this.

He must have payed a quarter of dollar buying this piece of crap.

  • @jimbubble One of the single best katana for under $300,

  • This guys seems like an out-of-shape idiot using a poor-quality sword swinging at shit in his backyard. Or is that just me?

  • que babaca, que falta de respeito quer cortar madeira pega um machado e corta o palerma.

  • que tipo tan bobo, por la pinta tan vulgar para el caso debe ser un greengo !!!

  • Why are all the comments on this video negative!!! He's not trying to prove any skill he has with the Katana, just the amount of abuse it can take until it fails! Dumb asses

  • Lol, "DO NOT ATTEMPT" *cuts off a half inch piece of wood* OH WOW A WHOLE HALF INCH My 3 dollar pocket knife can do better and it's shitty as hell...

  • @ 1:53..if the katana fail your kick wont fail..hahaha lol xD

  • fail

  • try to cut charging the ken above the shoulder relative to your front feet at the moment of the cut... you'll get a most powerful and stable cut. And all cuts will be effective, cutting the wood from side to side...

  • white guys with katanas...

    just fucking great.

    What's next, Indians speaking ebonics?

  • What don't you guys understand about HE'S NOT TRYING TO CUT THE F***ING WOOD. He's purposely wielding it wrong and using a dull blade in order to test the destructive ENDURANCE of the blade. Not how much damage it can dish out, but how much it can take.

  • LOL @ so many people talking shit about using this in the most abusive manner possible.

You know what they tested the ancient katanas and wakazashis with?? IRON HELMETS. That's why one of the most renowned sword smiths was an armor-smith first, so he can see what works and what doesn't.

  • @BassmasterD So i was right?, the true ancient katanas where a lot better than those junk store toys we can see on purchase?. So the true legendary katanas can event cut iron helmets?. So a true ancient katana can event cut metal stuffs?? For example cuttin another katana of low quality? The actual katanas arent like the ancient ones, right?

  • @SutoritoFaitaTsuBui You are definitely right. The process to make a several thousand-dollar sword nowadays employs the same methods as they did back then. It's painstaking, but shows through its quality.

The Armorsmith I was referring to, by the way, was Nagasone Kotetsu, who is known to make iron helmet-cutting swords. One of his 31 swords is actually in a Japanese museum and is considered a national treasure.

    You're right-1040 high carbon > 440 stainless or aluminum.

  • @BassmasterD Aren't ancient Katanas made with Damascus steel? Not the Damascus as we know today but the ancient Damascus. This steel is almost impossible to duplicate because the method to recreate it is lost. Most of the Damascus blades nowadays seem like real Damascus but it's not. Ancient Damascus has a distinct pattern and Damascus nowadays all have different patterns. My point is, no matter how expensive a Katana is, you will never get the quality of a legendary one.

  • @AliasRonin Damascus and folded tamahagane is very similar in a sense that they are both pounded relentlessly to make a purified hardness that is rivaled by very few.

However, the main difference is the clay heating method used for katanas that give it that hardness difference between the blade and spine - hard blade for cutting and edge retention, and softer spine for shock absorbing.

There is actually a website that does a more advanced Damascus technique, Angelsword

  • and also real samurai can cut iron (Y)

  • you're obviously overweight and you have no experience in using any weapon of that assort

  • Comment removed

  • these guy have no idea what is this katana...daaaamn shit

  • you idiots dont respect the Katana its not ment to cut wood corners its ment to cut flesh so get some tatami. AND FOR GODS SAKE SHARPEN IT!

  • that katana should be cutting clean trough i mean it cuts bone and flesh even metal

  • you really suck on taking a stand and that's not a real katana

  • 0:47 i was hoping you would miss and chop of a toe or 2...

  • es una katano no un bate ok

  • You moron...

  • OMg, oMG!!! I really hope that was not a perfect quality, tradiotionally-made katana!! :O Disgrace to you, man... Testing it like that... It's not an axe, you know... Besides, you seemed to loose you balance at the first strike! HAha, I would have enjoyd it if you cut your leg off^^ Apropos that: Why the heck did you step like you did? You are ruthless! I hope you really injure yourself one day, you with no respect for weapons... Thinking it's a toy you can swing around...

  • @darryl13245 There are these wonderful things on YouTube called descriptions, you should try reading them some time. The people who made this video ARE the people who forged the katana; this is a test of the sword's construction and durability. Also, the fact that you want to see them cut their own leg off and then demand that they 'show some respect' is almost hilarious in it's sheer hypocritical, self-contradictory stupidity.

  • Even the weakest of Katana's can slice through Plywood with ease, you have no skill, or your Katana's cannot stand the test of plywood. I believe it's both, a good Katana in the hands of an Amateur, can slice through.

  • @alexd1130

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. His strokes have the full power of his weight behind them. You don't need special skill to swing something with your weight behind it. You're a katana worshiping know-it-all who has never swung one.

  • @alexd1130 yes it is a bad katana of low quality sharpen right? come on event my axe can cut that stuff more easy that this toy.

  • great video. you gave retards a sword and told them to hit plywood. LOL.

  • @highdesert54 My dick is sharper!!

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

    seu gordo de merda

  • @Kurowaltsu2

I need not mention the fact that his positioning his wrong to be able to expose that he is brandishing this weapon in the wrong way. It's dangerous! And I probably like yourself didnt just notice that the way he was standing was wrong, but also things like the way he followed through with his swings

  • WHAT DISRESPECT TO A KATANA AND THE MARTIAL WAY !!!!!

  • bunch of dumbasses

  • The bloodlust in his face at 1:45 0_o

  • eventually your gonna cut your leg off and i will say i told you so

  • omg, you are terrible, you better play CS

  • You not cuting in video all your doing coping.

  • 1:43 Yep, camera mans lost it " Die Die Die!" *Kick*

  • try cut ur legs..test how sharp that katana.. haha

  • Being a yank, he should stick with guns.

  • culture is being abused by barbaric dumbasses...

  • If you're going to get a katana, get a good one,Damascus steel only, which is a long and hard processes of bending and layering steel on steel. This makes it razor sharp, and hard and flexible, making it extremely durable. Also only get one that is HANDMADE.THere are some videos of making Damascus katanas, check em out.

  • @swordsmanruler Yes...Handmade Is Always The Best.

  • zombies beware

  • i love it when people post vid when they think they know how to handle l a blade and they have no idea how to i think its hilarious

  • I could bite that cut a car or something

  • WHO GIVES A SHIT IF HE IS DOING IT WRONG THIS VIDEO IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUE OR ANYTHING ELSE ! THIS IS JUST A FREAKING DESTRUCTIVE TEST! IF YOU HAVE SO MUCH BAD SHIT TO SAY TO THE MAN DONT FUCKING WATCH HIS VIDEOS I BET NONE OF YOU ASSHOLES HAVE BEEN THROUGH PROPER TRAINING BECAUSE IF YOU HAD YOU WOULDNT BE SUCH ASSHOLES!!!!

  • katanas arent suposed to be used to destroy ply wood

  • ronin? ronin as in saints row ronin? XD yus!

  • How could it be a destruction test if you don't use a proper technique ?

Let me explain : your test is wrong, because a real user of a Katana will use that a way better than you did, so the sword will almost never be destroyed.

If you want to argue like "yes, but if a beginner used it ?", katana were, and are, not gived to beginners.

  • @Gaasm ...beginners buy them...wow :/ iq. you dont have it

  • @gibson82650 Do you even know what is IQ to insult me, or is it just a troll's comment ?

Will you buy it if you were a beginner, man (just in case, i precise : if you were not a collector)? You would be a REAL idiot if you did that.

Let me explain myself : Katana are sharp, they are dangerous, but they do NOT work if you don't know how to use it... They even could be a danger for you... And i think this is the case for most of swords.

If you want to practice, there are Iaito, or Bokuto.

  • @Gaasm in a irresponsable destruction test like this guy does, did the sword can break easily and the remain fragment can impact in your body? is it a common stuff? so if someone hit a metal objet or a huge wood or three, it would break the Katana and it will hurt you so badly?.

  • @gibson82650 And if you want to kill anybody, it will be more effective to use a gun, after all, you don't need as much as practice to use it than a sword.

Definitively, those who are buying some sword and are not collector or advance pratiquant are not only idiots, they are insane !

And sorry, if my english is not so good, i'm french.

  • @Gaasm Lol i just thinkin on buy some katana and use it to cut on my Woods trash or event my long cesped. Too bad idea right? he he.

  • His form is awful. Surely he has never had proper training. When you swing the sword you never bring your feet forward in the direction of the swing. That is just stupid. Learn how to swing a sword first. It's not just the sword. It is how you handle the sword to get the full potential. Let the weapon be a part of you, let it flow with your body.

  • @D4PuNishEr21 oh yeah so he can miss the swing and cut his owm feet or leg, right?

  • That is absolute shit... 1. please do a vid of someone who knows the way of the sword 2. sharpen it to its full potential before use and finally to show a good cut and effectiveness of the Katana itself use Tatami mats ( or rolled up hay)

  • no offense but you weilding it wrong and within the right hands that katana could slice a gate way from your back yard to your neighboors through your fence

  • Comment removed

  • LOL.. you make me thing that a knife is better.

  • 1:20. WTF dude, it's not a fucking baseball bat.

  • His leg is opposit so it's very dangerous . he might cut him self . take care .

  • A real Samurai will cut all the way to the buttom! --- S3mi

  • @nutnfunny This was a destruction test. He was testing the blades durability when misused.

  • decent slash on the 2x4

  • STILL ITS A PRETTY COOL SWORD

  • Damn these things are sharp... :O

  • disgrace destruction test your scratching up the blade, anyone who does not know how to use it shouldnt even pick one up lol just my oppinom

  • /facepalm....... sigh TERRIBLE stance... obvously dosnt know how to wield it.......

  • noob :))

  • i recommend you use some visible helmet to protect your face broken parts can easily cut your eye out

  • I can do that with my Ka-Bar with one hand. I prefer daggers tac knives and broadswords.

  • Your stance is not appropriate and you put all ur weight on the left legs your back should be straight and u need to extend ur arms more and make ur snap more height.

For the cameraman the Yoko should be with ankle balance first and take all.

If you want to make good cutting try Shinkendo ;)

  • Hey batter batter, sw...... Ow my f***ing eye, damn it jeff, I knew I shouldn't have let u use my katana. (hold the katana like a katana , not like a baseball bat, it's a slashing weapon, not a hacking weapon)

  • It is a DESTRUCTION test. Not a skill test. We are trying to determine how much abuse the sword can take prior to failure. We already know it is not going to fail in a dojo environment. It is the backyard users that abuse them. This is what goes on in backyards, and what we are testing.

  • yes that was included in the title, but the test would have been more effictive if the katana was used like a katana, not a bat, the results would be more reliable as aiaido practitioners use their katana like a sword and not a bat, theyre the people who will be buying the swords. by the way it was only constructive critiscism, plz dont get offended.

  • @Roninkatanas but if your technique is not right then how is your test valid...i mean your not using precise technique that the sword was designed for so your test would be a fail becasue of to many variables.

  • @Roninkatanas real katanas dont fail

  • @Roninkatanas sweet keep it up can you try one from shirly swords i just bought 2 but they are still being shiped to me they are one ebay for like 50 bucks and there best one they sell is 300 you should post a vid of there cutting power

  • @Roninkatanas agree'd, too bad you cannot be selective about whom you sell a finely crafted blade too... wait.. i think you can, ill google it and post a recomment when i find out.. either way, it may be more trouble than its worth. meh.. nice blade btw, im considering buying one.

  • @Roninkatanas did u guys end up breaking it?

    \

  • @Roninkatanas well if you slash it right it deals muuuuch more dmg .....would go thru that wood like butter....katana if swung right can cut man in HALF!

  • @Roninkatanas Seems to me like your testing a katana's uselessness against anything other than plastic and soft plant life. but I will agree that play -cough, snigger- is a good way to test the failing point of a katana.

  • @lilpwn They can actually cut through a triple roll tatami with one blow.

  • @Roninkatanas Nicely made katana. One of the best for under $300.

  • @Roninkatanas admit it, you THOUGHT you knew how to wield a katana but evidently didnt.

  • @yayayurrr you talk like you know how to swing a katana, shocked that someone like me whos only taken iaido for a month picked up on the fact that he was swinging the same direction as the leg he had in front yet you didn't critic that at all

Plus its a destruction test, hes trying to break it.. kinda

  • lol...i can see days of sharpening, cleaning, scratch and ding removal for that sword...never cut wood, unless its bamboo.
