In third grade at the beginning of school when I lived in Florida, our music teacher had one and he showed it to us a few times and even with him holding it, he let some of us have a turn and we pressed the start with the rhythems and he said we can press any chord button and then strummed the pad. I was hooked. I remember for the Christmas season, he played "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" on it and with the3 waltz beat he played "Silent Night." I wish I had one now,
you are so much prettier without the eyeshadow, blush and lipstick... I thought it was hard to look at you on the voice cause the make-up was taking away from you, and was so overpowering. But in this video you have such a natural raw beauty... I'm not trying to be offensive... i just don't think you need all that much make-up. Naturally pretty girl. make-up does you no justice.
Actually, it's more like an electronic autoharp, not a harp, because of the chord buttons. The auto-accompaniment stuff is much like most home keyboards. It's the strumplate that makes it an unusual instrument.
This sounds so cool. I was thinking about getting an autoharp but maybe I should get both for different occasions. They're played basically the exact same way.
My GOD this song is so great! When do you release the studio version of Right Beside Myself? I get some vibes from the old Wicked Games, but that's just me :)
Hey Casey, I like your video and must say that you sing beautiful :) I wonder if you could tell me what the name of the song in the beginning is or if you have made it by yourself if you perhaps could send it to me? :) Liked it very much and want to hear more of it.. :) Peace
Hey- the new song sounds great. I use the omni all the time in my own recordings. It's so recognizable, when I hear it in a song it's such a pleasant surprise. Schmaltzy. Cheesy. Heavenly.
Yes, it's the beginning to a song I haven't released yet (coming soon) called "Right Beside Myself"... I wrote it the song with the omnichord so that's why it's featured. :) Thanks for asking.
Casey, can this thing play tetrachords? That means chords consisting of 4 notes like: a minor 7 (a c e g) or C major 7 ( c eg h ) as they are used in jazz. THX
@miro108 Assuming you haven't heard anything further, you can play minor and major 7th chords, as well as diminished and augmented chords. However, you can't extend chords further than that, so there are no minmaj7 chords, 9ths, 13ths, etc.
@miro108 Certain models allowed you to combine chords to achieve m7 maj7, etc. I forget which ones. There are websites that make those comparisons. I can tell you the 100 definitely can. I can't remember if they added the capability over consecutive models, or if they eliminated it. But the 100 definitely can. Just the other day I was coming up with some awesome "space age bachelor pad music" by combining chords. I felt like making a martini. :)

@SuperNoobTroll sorry, m8: German way for saying "b" , so I meant c e g b. When we say "b" in Germany we mean b flat. It' s weird, but still easier than do re mi fa sol la si do, isn't it? lol
@miro108 I just got an OM 300, so I don't know if the same chord principles apply, but mine allows you to use the major/minor/7th chord buttons in various combinations to play maj7, m7, augmented, and diminished chords. For instance, you would press the A and A7 chord buttons simultaneously to play Amaj7. I had no idea it could do that until I read the directions, so maybe Casey or someone else can chime in on the particulars of the OM 27.
Oops by accident I deleted the comment about how much it was. It was a gift (as you read at the end) by producer Anthony Resta from Bopnique. BUT they go for 150-350 on ebay or craigslist. I sold my brown one for 250 dollars because I prefer mine more.
Very nice video, but I must point out that the Omnichord isn't an electronic harp. It is an electronic autoharp. Also, I thought you might like to know that Suzuki sells a new version of the Omnichord called the Qchord.
I'm very impressed by your song "Right Beside Myself". Please tell me, where I can download it. I tryed to get it on itunes, but they don't have it. I carry the "hold me, hold me" loop in my brain for days now and would be glad to have the whole song. It shows, that a good musician can make songs on every kind of instrument. With your beautifull voice, the deep sustain and the guitar even a Omnichord sounds good.
That was amazing. You're very talented. I'm thinking of bidding on an omnichord on ebay. What was that song you were singing? The "hold me, hold me" one? I really like it.
Thanks for the email. I was searching for it all over iTunes but to no avail! It was great meeting you at COCA in Ottawa. :0) Goodluck with your music!
