ibanez for metal, strat for classic rock. different guitars are meant for different styles. i actually have an ibanex RG5EX1, and a fender strat and which guitar i use depends on what im playing. But they are both great guitars.
i dont think that anybody can argue that an american strat isnt a great guitar, regardless on what style you play. but its just a personal opinion..i like them, but i dont really have a desire to spend 1100 on one...granted im only 18 now so im sure that might change when i get older..
this has flaws.its not fair to compare them in general to some dumb hendrix sounding rif. maybe do rg vs strat "metal" ibanez wins! rg vs strat "blues" and still that depends. an ibnez rg can do everything a strat can do plus extra. i think the one thing a stock rg cant do as good as a strat is super twang country. which is great sounding stuff
i think Ibanez, just cause its great for heavy metal, but also can dish out those single coil sounds! and the neck is just easier to go around on, and the body is nicer to adjust too! ive tried out some strats (fender ones) and it seems to always slip on me, and the neck doesnt feel right. ID PERSONALLY, MY OWN OPTION pick a ibanez any time :)
Ibanez sounds great with heavy songs and good with clean songs. Fender on the other hand is great with lighter songs and good with heavy songs. If you want to play metal or heavy rock get a Ibanez, if you want to stick with blues to jazz to rock I prefer the fender, but both are awesome guitars.
@DannyTx011 If you'd try putting humbuckers on a stratocaster it'd sound just like an ibanez bro, only difference between a good Ibanez and a stratocaster (Price range 1000-800 USD) is the pickups.
@MrGuitarFail ibanez also usually has a floating bridge and is made from basswood as opposed to alder, the ibanez necks are also usualy thinner than on a stratocaster
when it comes to guitars and thier level of equipment is the same it all boils down to what sound suits you more.One isnt better than the other..one just produces one kind of tone and the other another
Its 2 different types of guitars.I think its difficult to just say,one is better than the other.Ibanez guitars are easier to play,but the tone of a Strat,is yum yum.
Ibanez guitars are much better in my opinion. Fender is too over rated, my Ibanez RG350EX is easily better than my cousin's American Made Strat HSS. Even he likes my guitar more than his.
