first time hearing this and doing the Wu Zhang Plains I was like "oh shit, this is it!" so creepy, it's like this battle is happening inside Zhuge Liang's or Sima Yi's own dimension

Yes; after Zhuge Liang died, they tried to cover up his death and kept attacking for awhile and then began to retreat--and then when Sima Yi advanced the Wei army to attack them, Jiang Wei had the Shu army attack back right away, as if it was a trick by Zhuge Liang to lower Sima Yi's guard. He became frightened that it was a trap and then retreated, while Shu took this as a chance to retreat as well.

FlyingBurritoMan is correct. You don't get the full story unless you read Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The battle was a draw as Sima Yi refused to attack and Shu retreated. If you ask me, this was the beginning of the end for Shu. It was their last chance to conquer Wei.

I agree. Historically, after Zhuge Liang died, the only real attempts at invasion by Shu afterwords were failed attempts by Jiang Wei, I believe. Although, in my opinion Wei was too expansive to be conquered by Shu even with the long alliance with eastern Wu.
