  • is it worth buying a 24-70mm lens for the d3000

  • @SwagMasterBruh it would work but I think much cheaper prime lenses like the 35mm f/1.8 or 50mm f/1.4 would be a better choice, they give you sharper images and have larger f/stops without the large weight and cost.

  • The D3000 preforms better than my D70 and has a WAYYYY better DoF. I have no idea what you are talking about.

  • what is a good lens for up close

  • can you do a review on the differences and similarities between the d3000 and the d300s?

  • @TheAFROMUSIC it looks like our space concerning specifically semi professional and professional is smaller now. d7000 is perhaps all we all need. go to... freedslr . com remove spaces and take a chance to win completely new Nikon D7000

  • is there a intervalometers for the nikon d3000

  • what lens do you prefer if i have a 500 dollar budget, and i want a telephoto lens. i own the d3000 and i think i need a little better quality. Thanks

  • @CBG0829 nikon 70-300mm vr is the best quality or you can get the nikon 55-300mm vr lens which is cheaper and gives you more range.

  • @QQQQcon can you tell the quality between them? thanks

  • you.are.adorable.

  • hello ;)

  • Thinking about getting a d3000 for christmas this, not having purchased a camera before do you recommend it as a good starter camera!

  • thank you!!! you've just answered all my questions... thank you so very much!

  • whats better for a begginer? a d60 d40 or d3000? thanks

  • @187lickmynuts the d40 is plenty in my opinion and preforms better at higher iso

  • @QQQQcon Thank you very much for the good info. More power

  • @187lickmynuts d40 is amazing, its small, takes video and pictures and d3000, wich i have obviously, only takes pics. along with the d60, which i have aswell, only takes pics, but as far as quality and basic features there all good.

  • Well if i wanted a video camera i would have bought a video camera. Considering i´ll use my camera for only photographing and can get away alot cheaper with the 3000 i think i´ll go with that.

  • Just bought one of these Thanks for your insight on the camera .. I got to baseball and other sporting events a lot and I'm hoping that this camera will be sufficient

  • You didn't mentioned the biggest difference between D3000 and D5000. The D5000 has the CMOS sensor which is much better as the old CCD sensor used in D3000

  • You didn't mentioned the biggest difference between D3000 and D5000. The D5000 has the CMOS sensor which is much better as the old CCD sensor used in D3000

  • @QQQQcon What camera do you mostly use?

  • @doomsword86 Before you purchase the camera be sure to know what you also want. The Nikon D3000 is a newest entry level camera for average consumers, and it has more new features like larger megapixel, larger LCD screen, and etc. than the old entry level cameras (D40, D60, D50 etc.). And Nikon D5000 is a bit more pricier but you get the live view, larger mp, and it can record HD video! in which Nikon D3000 doesn't have. So bargaining around on the web to find a good deal. I'm sure they have.

  • hey I have a question can the Nikon D3000 take videos? please tell me it can my dad's already bought it for my birthday! I was looking at Nikon compact camera and it could take 720 and 1020 HD movies....please answer ASAP!

  • @benjiluvyuri no it does not

  • @QQQQcon ........Fail.

  • @benjiluvyuri You can learn everything about the camera at the Nikonusa.com website lol..

  • @benjiluvyuri Your dad´s?!

  • cool t-shirt

  • @BurninC4rtrage megapixels makes no difference unless you have 4x more megapixels. To see a noticeable difference from a 6.1 you'd need a hypothetical "24.4 megapixel" camera. Wow n00b sauce

  • im getting the d5000 in a week i cant wait

  • @portie147 how was it????

  • Thank u :)

  • @BurninC4rtrage thats right. mega pixels isnt everything, noise control is much better on the d40, especially at higher iso.

  • What is best ?? the d5000 or the d3000 ?? :) Plz answere fast :) both on sale lol!

  • @bboylilsoul d5000

  • @QQQQcon So I get a D5000? Your FULLY sure right? This is my only chance and I really don't know which to get. I don't want to regret anything!

  • @kex192 if you have the extra money then yes get the d5000

  • What is the best? D3000 cause its desined for noobs like me.. D5000 is a little bigger and has more features but is also more expensive. Regardless the D3000 is more camera than i will ever need.

  • @jtfreed buy the d3000 if ur not a pro camra dude! I have the d3000 and i think it´s a great camra:)

  • @ekstrmzz the only thing that has made me sad about the d3000 is that it dosent have a built in wireless flash commander. So you cant use a fancy wirless flash things wirelessly

  • @jtfreed D5000 is probably the best semi pro camera out right now

  • so is the D40 better then the D3000 even if it is considered as the upgrade?

  • One more difference not from features but from underlying technology is that the D5000 and higher cameras come with a CMOS sensor while D3000 has CCD sensor

Both CMOS and CCD sensors have their bit of problems with the image quality under specific conditions. (Just google up "CMOS vs CCD sensor" and "rolling shutter vs global shutter")

I would factor in cost of a lot of additional batteries to D3000 vis a vis D5000

  • d3000 performs worse than any other dslr bro?

  • @Aerolipe111 I would say so. the d40 has better image quality

  • @QQQQcon oh i see... cos i was about to buy one... now i'm not that sure anymore!

  • @Aerolipe111 I know, the d3000 is a great camera.

  • @JBICK666 Canon Rebel XS blows the d3000 out of the water

  • Nikon.... They tried to do some crappy things to camera owners. Some propriatory stuff that could in the future make a camera useless. There was a review thing about it. Then finally Nikon came along [with Adobe] and is more transparent now about their stuff. In the article it was very interesting how camera companies can discontinue a camera and then all the software support could vanish too. So your left with no support and a useless camera.

  • are the pictures you took in ur site taken with a nikon D3000?

  • @gramal76 It doesnt have dust cleaning and it will stay clean as long as you are careful but eventually you will have to clean it or get it cleaned.

  • What is the lens on the left called? The one with the camera hood

  • for my 1st camera do you think i should get the D5000 or the D3000 ?

  • The nikon d5000 is a nikon d90 at a lower price....much lower!

But the nikon d5000 has a big flaw....... the articulated LCD wich makes it very sensible to bumps.

  • Maybe you can help me, i have marks coming up on the viewfinder on my d3000, and when i get into the body i can see the marks on the lowest mirror in the body. I tried a micro-fibre cloth but it wont the get the marks off.

  • @Witchire You can get it cleaned at a camera store.

  • 500D or D40?

  • @itsscrappycoco 500d has more features. But it really doesnt matter which you choose depends on wether you like canon or nikon controls better.

  • which is better D5000 or D40?

  • @itsscrappycoco the d5000 has more features but the best bang for your buck is the d40

  • This guy is not excited at all...looks like hes been FORCED into doing this review !!! hahah

  • which one is better d40 or d3000?

  • @may10501 I would get the d40. Better noise control and much cheaper.

  • I adore your lenses!

  • which nikon d series would suit beginners like me? a friend of mine who is also a novice has the d60.. which would be best for us?

  • @neetnasirk24 the best is the nikon d40, but the nikon d60 is a good beginner camera too.

  • Is it possible to shot professional photo's with the D3000? Cause I wanna use it for weddingparty's etc. to shot good quality pictures?? I am looking forward for you answer... Thanks

  • @Rol80 yes you can. you can get professional photos from almost any camera. It is the photographer who gets the good pics. not the camera.

  • What do you think about the comparison between d5000 or the d90? They seem to have very similar specs except for a larger view on the d90. The d5000 is also a lot cheaper, though not in quality. Thanks

  • @oSiMplyElla they are very similar but the d90 is definitely a better camera.

  • what would you recomed the nikon d3000 or the nikon d5000?im thinking d3000 becase of its guide mode and im thinking d5000 becase of its better specs and video mode and faster frames per sec,and they are booth for a fear price what youd you recomend please help me !!please!

  • @hermanplatou I would start with a d3000 or better yet I would start with a d40. Both are good starter cameras.

  • Pink Floyd for ever!!!

  • CAN SOMEONE HELP ME

i was trying to take a picture on my D3000 today, and i had the autofocus on. my camera was not taking any pictures, but instead was making a "winding" noise. when i switched it to "manual focus" it was able to take the picture, but it was all blurry.

    whats wrong with my camera?!

  • @ashleybrown013 I would buy the 70-200mm for low light action photography. if this applies to you then by all mean get it.

  • Do Not Tolk Too Much :)) Work plssss

  • the d3000 is only $456 at amazon right now...that's gotta' be the best price for what you're getting, out there. Anyone find a better deal?

  • Would you recommend the Nikkor F/1.8 35mm AF-S lens? I like that fact that its very light-sensitive, so I'll be able to shoot at lower ISO settings.. But is it overall a good lens?

  • It is a great lens for dx cameras. I would highly recommend it.

  • He , great review/comparison !

I've got the D3000 with the 70-300 VR , 18-55 VR and a 50 MM Prime lens . But i've been thinking about buying the 14-24 F/2.6 , would it be worth the money (1300 euro) to put on a D3000 because it isn't full frame ? Or should I rather buy a full frame body (in the future) and then buy the 14-24 ? The lens you have on the table , is that the 14-24 ? And which is that other lens ? It would be great if you could put up a review of the 14-24 .

  • wait until you have a full frame body. Even then make sure you want to use that wide of a lens, it is not made for getting every thing in the picture but to get abstract angles. For most people the nikon 16-35mm f/4 lens is more appealing.

  • Thanks ! I didn't realize that the 14-24 isn't a good lens for me till now. Last mont I did some concert photography , and liked it a lot. So I went looking for the right kind of lens for that purpose. Found the new Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VRII. It cost around 1900 euro's so I will be saving money for one and a half year :P. I've read that lens is good useable on a DX camera so would it be worth the money to buy the 70-200 and a year later a full frame ? That would suite me way better than a 14-24 xD

  • hey i bought my D3000 about a month ago and i was wondering if you think its worth it to upgrade to a D5000?

  • Not after only a month. I would use your d3000 for at least a year before you upgrade to a new camera. The d5000 really isnt all that different from the d3000 anyway. If you upgrade from a d3000 you will want to go for a nikon d90. But I would use the camera you have now for a while first.

  • Alright! thanks alot ! i appreciate the help!

  • I bought a D3000 and its looking pretty good so far... stepping it up so far but i do wish i had better range than what was provided... do you have a recommendation for a lens with more range? say for bird shooting or animals in nature? If you could list several options it would be greatly appreciated.

  • the nikon 55-200mm vr is your cheapest option. the best option is the nikon 70-300mm VR.

  • thanks for the info dood....seriously

I just bought the D3000, and Im still learning it...so far so good :]

  • does it take videos??

  • should i get the nikon d3000, the canon rebel xsi, or the nikon d40?

    please help

  • the nikon d40 is the best choice. Cheap and offers amazing image quality.

  • how much those cammers worth?

  • d3000 is about 550 with lens and nikon d5000 is about 650 without lens

  • is the nikon d3000 a good camera, should i invest in it?

  • it is decent, a good starter camera.

  • whats better? a nikon d70 or d3000?

  • nikon d3000

  • Are you kidding me? the D70 as well as D50 and D80 out perform the D3000. The only upper hand on the D3000 is the video mode...

  • dont know where you get that idea.

  • Which one would u guys out there say is better, the D3000 or the Eos 450D( Rebel XSi) [As it's knowen in North America]

  • Comment removed

  • very helpful, thanks.

  • hi

which the sutable nikon camera i can buy by 700$ ?

  • either the d3000 or the d5000

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for the comparison. I use a Nikon FM2 film camera and just recently purchased a Nikon D3000. A very nice camera and easy to use. I like the fact that you can push it to 3200 ISO with great results.

  • hey i'm not sure wether to get the nikon D60 or the D3000? can you help.

    Thanks

  • the d3000

  • Thanks very much.

  • yeah d3000

  • thanks for the help will be buying my D3000 around june when i have the money.lol

  • Now to keep that ball going.. What about Canon 1000d vs Nikon d3000? What would you buy if you would have these options?

  • they are equal. depends wether you want canon or nikon.

  • Nice Camera

    Nice Video

    Nice Top ;)

    usefull

  • I'm not sure whether to get the D3000 or D5000.

    I don't care much about the tilt-screen or video-mode of the D5000.

But when it comes to the image quality and iso-performance, is the D5000 worth the extra bucks? Either I'm gonna get the D3000 with 18-55mm lens, or just the D5000 without lens (got a 24-85mm ill use). The price-difference is about $280.

  • if you use high iso often then you want the d5000 if not than get the d3000

  • what u think, would D3000 (+ 18-55mm VR) be good for shooting portraits indoors ?

  • if it is low light than you should get the d5000 if not get the d3000

  • thanks brother :)

what u think about Nikon AF 85mm f/1.8D objective.

  • great lens especially for portraits

  • I got the d3000 with the 18-55 last month and yesterday i got a 55-200 to go with it....fantastic camera, Im loving it. I will prob upgrade next year sometime.

  • i have a nikon d3000, it's a great entry level dslr, of course d5000 is better but, it has the 11 point focus. QQQcon, what is the best lense for my d3000? please reply. thanks.

  • nikon 18-200mm is the best choice, if that is too expensive just get the nikon 18-55mm and nikon 55-200mm.

  • So you said d5000 is better than d3000 and so good like d60 or d90?

  • FM3a. Cheaper, stronger and better images.

  • wow i checked out your photos on your site they are amazing amazing job congrats keep on going and i just bought a nikon d3000 and im a little confused about it anyone that can help plzzz message me

  • i finally bought my d3000...its amazng...jst one thing..my retailer gave me a nikkor af-s 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 G II ED, instead of the VR version.....nw i cudnt understand if thr is a diff btwn the two....wud b real gr8 of u if u cud helps me with this.....i did ask for a d3000 kit but he gave me 2 separate boxes for the body and the lens...

  • The difference is that in the VR, the picture gets stabilized, in the usual it doesn't. Therefore the pictures from the VR become sharper! =)

  • I can't decide between a d60 or a d3000 what would you recommend for my first DSLR

  • there like the same thing but the d3000 is newer

  • @Graaw22 Buy the d3000 is much cheaper and better with AF.

  • its basically the same exact camera besides a .3inch screen and if ur looking for just entry level lenses the new auto focus system will not make much of a difference. personally i say go with the better deal.

  • get the d3000

  • is this good fr a starter photography camera??

  • yes

  • is this a good camera on a scale from 1 to 10

  • 6. The image quality at high iso is not that good, but everything else is good.

  • thank you also what lens do you recommend that is not ridiculously expensive

  • nikon 18-200mm

  • what is the difference between that and the stock 18 55

  • 55-200mm more and it is a great all in one zoom.

  • thank you would they care that at future shop

  • I have this camera :D I really like him..

  • is there any1 has personally experienced this camera?

is Nikon D3000 a Good camera.?

  • it is slow. get Pentax k-x. that's the best solution.

  • so according to this, a d300 would be much better for shooting skateboarding and portraits, than a d5000 which is much more expensive. thanks for the comparison, it really helped me figure out which camera would be optimal.

  • Isn't "Nikon" pronounced "Knee-kon?" I got that directly from their website.

  • mostly ive heard Nye-kon or nick on

not so much knee, but it doesnt really matter. whatever floats your boat

  • lol "knee-kon" is how they say it in japan(where it originates)

  • ok ill keep that in mind, thanks!

  • Would buying SanDisk's 30mb/s Class 10 memory card be a waste of $(overkill/no benefit)??? Would a 15mb/s be more than sufficient? I'm just curious as to the best card I should get for my D3000 without going overboard... Your advice would be much appreciated...

  • Not if you usually take pictures of sport or action photography, it should help. But in cases like landscape or still life and portrait photography you dont need a high speed memory card.

  • So higher mb/s only increase frames per second during burst shooting and do not improve photo quality?

  • No it doesnt even do that. It saves the pictures you take quicker so that you dont have to wait as long to take more pics. The image quality does not change.

  • what do you man by d3000 is worse dslr. worse than d40??

  • In terms of image quality the nikon d40 is better at high iso. But it is not the worst dslr.

  • nice this helped me a lot!!!!! I love youtube!!!

  • can this camera film hd video? or is it the D5000 could only do that?

  • @360bmx720 nvm my question was answered at the end of the video lol

  • no video for the d3000

  • what do you mean by the camera performs worse than the d40? in what way?

  • in terms of noise. The d3000 has much more noise in its images at higher ISOs than the d40.

  • I've checked your review 2 weeks ago when i bought the D3000. This week I've changed it with the D5000. What do you think? Was it a good choice? Imo ,the noise lvl of the D5000 is way better than the D3000 ,also it has live view ,movie mode ,bracketing ,the articulated screen...basicly ,I like the new toy.

    Thanks ,Alex

  • thanks for making a vid like this, im glad somebody is willing to take the time to make a decent video

  • probably the canon.

  • nop the Nikon D3000 is Way better for new pplz

  • no the canon is better, d3000 has terrible noise at high iso, worse that the canon.

  • sorry im new to the photography world. what does it mean when you say it has terible noise?

  • The higher the iso you use the grainer the image can get. Some
