While I give you mad props for owning a MiniMoog, you are not playing these bass lines correctly. Listen to the originals again and then see where you went wrong. For example, the EW and F bass line is off by one note. you play E, G A, G, F#, B F#B. That second F# should be A#/Bb.

all of your bass lines are off like this, just a little bit.

The Moog sounds hella fat, though.

Haha, the fact that sound engineers need to learn about not to overcompress/overlimit the music is very paradox. But you're absolutely right! Just load a new dance track from nowadays into your wave editor and take a look at it, you will mostly only see one big fat beam with no dynamic in it! Question: Why do DJs even have volume/gain potis? Answer: To act as if they were VERY bussy on the mixer! :D

Yes, as VacTrooper pointed out, they made the PolyMoog, but that was a disappointment as it didn't have the full sound as the MiniMoog. If you are looking for a nice polyphonic instrument from around this era, go for the Oberheim OB-X (OB-Xa, OB-8). Many famous bands used this synth such as Queen, Styx, Rush, Pink Floyd, Prince. It was used in many dance tracks of the period too. There is a soft synth version called the OP-X if you want to try it out.

YES. There is a POLYPHONIC MOOG out there... It's called the POLYMoog. "To say it's polyphonic is an understatement."

Also, the ANALOG Alesis Andromeda is polyphonic, so are most Oberheim, Roland, and other older companies out there. Name any company, and they PROBABLY have a genuine analog synth that is polyphonic.... ;)

Sounds good. Try closing your filter cutoff a bit, and shorten the decay and sustain times on the filter env. Model D's are lots of fun to play, so are the Voyager and Little Phatty. :) Prett much any analog synth really :)
