  • Thanks for share this video, its very clear

  • Very useful information. Do you guys have any information about this of courses in Vietnam or in Asia because I have a website tinquangcao.vn that I want to push it to the best ranking.

    Thanks!!!!!

  • I am glad to know thatthere are other SEO programs made by SEO experts.

  • Estaría increible tener una certificación, pero mientras tanto nos conformamos con la experiencia y trabajos previos para garantizar calidad en SEO

  • @techfoxpl This would be the link: google.com/intl/en/adwords/professionals/

  • i like matt he is a great looking man i think if he was not in Google

    he should be an actor

  • Great content! Thank you.

  • Matt, I'm so glad you posted this. We've had a lot of potential students asking if our Search Engine College courses are officially *endorsed* by Google because they have heard from other institutions that claim they are. I've had a hard time finding proof to debunk this - until now! Sure it would be a great thing to claim, but as you state, that's a pretty rickety bridge for GG. Institutions that adhere to GG's Webmaster Guidelines & teach white hat SEO technique shouldn't need endorsement.

  • thanks

  • This is a great video to know more about SEO certification programs from SEO experts.

  • haha. Matt didn't sound very enthusiastic talking about Google's enemy, SEO. lol

  • @redalf You have no idea what your talking about, this whole channel is dedicated to seo.

  • im a UK SEO Trainer and ive put together SEOQualification com , perhaps check that exam out. Im also building a free seo training course around it.

  • Umm . . . the problem here is that Matt is basically saying "we don't certify for that skill set because we don't want to reveal the secret sauce".

Come to think of it, that's NOT a problem. Unless you think there should be such a think as SEO "certification".

  • air quotes are when you do them with your fingers in the air

  • Rather thank an "SEO certification" course, what if Google offered a "website development best practices" certification course? That way Google can just certify professionals on best practices for developing websites that are "search engine friendly" so to speak. Perhaps there's a better title but you get my point I'm sure. Id love to obtain such certification. Perhaps as part of this, Google can have users agree to certain guideliens as to how to properly reference their certification. ;-)

  • Thanks for this answer.... very helpful... Now i know who should I be showing this video tooo :)

  • Hi, I'm Nick Y from Vancouver. Thank You for your response! I get frustrated when a new client has to be un-taught all the bad habits their last "SEO Expert" told them. I'm so glad you have these videos it gives me a solid reference to provide to my clients.

  • Clients portofolio is the only way to verify a SEO Company. All the rest is just ...talking..

  • good answer... it is harder to be "unethical" with PPC than SEO

  • Even though you can't control how "ethical" they are, maybe offering a very intensive course and giving a certificate that at least those SEO experts KNOW the rules, the inner workings, etc ... This would be useful.

  • Perhaps a webmaster tools and ethics certification is the way to go?

  • Wouldn't a Google SEO Certification program be a monumental conflict of interest? And no certification program is a guarantee of ethical behavior.

  • Matt have you looked at the Google section of DigitalPoint recently? It's full of "SEO Experts" who I think haven't even read the Google Webmaster Guidelines.

  • I think allowing or endorsing an SEO or an SEO certification will be un ethical on Google's part. Flip side - to save end customer from being cheated it can be considered...

  • It's just a matter of time before this happens, whether it's called SEO certification or something more generic that includes SEO topics. I wrote a blog about it over at SEOmoz but it hasn't been approved to be published. One of the pioneers in tech certification was Novell, the people who made networking operating systems before Microsoft even though about it. Who was their CEO during much of that time? Eric Schmidt.

  • @Not12Complain YES! I'd really like to read this article!

  • "Grand Slam Spammer", LOL. Love it Matt. I try to stay off the bases. Get hit by a few pitches from time to time. Don't let anyone pitch hit for me. @GregBogdan

  • its like asking the Pope, if you can have extra-marital sex... :)

  • woot first
