There were some genuinely scary moments in this film such as 'her' appearing under the bedspread, the one place we generally feel safe and the noise she makes in itself freaks me out. But the story was a bit stupid.

The idea of a spirit/curse born out of great anger or sadness or pain is a cool idea but the fact that it just went around killing the world and his wife was just irritating. There should have been a clear link to the kills as opposed to anyone and everyone.

Even as the broken, emaciated corpse was crawling its way slowly towards our heroine, I just wasn't that scared. Forgive me for my lack of respectful fear, and I doubt that it's the movie that makes it not scary for me.

I think that the real trick to dealing with fear in horror movies is to simply look directly at the horror and see it for what it is. In this case, the broken body and spirit of a woman who was brutally murdered looking for vengeance.
