bleh. i prefer the new police car that ford is offering. The taurus. It can either be the naturally aspirated V6 or the 365 HP twin turbo EcoBoost 3.5l V6. Not to mention that it has the power of an 8 cylinder, with the economy of a 6 cylinder.

It already looks like a turd. If it goes out on the road I hope it fails. You can't beat the full-framed B-bodies. Bring those back already; it is what GM should have done instead of taking the bailout and being government owned. It is these new shit cars that I see come out that only makes me hold on to my '91 Suburban that much tighter, even if it has become a bucket of rust.

@pergousongandra They may have, because Chevy didn't design or build it. This is the work of GM Holden in Australia. It is based on the WM Holden Caprice, which is a LWB version of the Pontiac G8, aka VE Holden Commodore. All Chevy did was strip off the bits that made it attractive and whack a bowtie badge on it

Talked to a cop here in my area (memphis tn) and he said they have had nothing but problems from the chargers. They're pieces of crap (its a dodge, go figure).

Everyone here in Richland and Pearl MS, loves them, they say its way better than the Crown Vic. But everyone also says the chevy Impala sucks! Its small and underpowered and can't handle.

@StumpAway This isn't an Impala in any way. RWD, 6 litre V8, Australian designed and built. Australian cop cars don't slide round corners Dukes of Hazzard style, they don't need to. I've driven a V6 version of this one's Australian version 2000 miles, and they respond in every way with little if any hesitation. You don't realise you're doing 90 miles an hour unless a. the cruise control is on or b. you glance at the speedometer

Honestly, I really don't think this is going to go anywhere. Cops are already very comfortable with the Vic, and if they want more power for the highway patrol they use the Charger. Also, why shut down the G8 factories only to bring an Australian made 4 door to American markets? Chevy was late to the retro muscle car fight and suffered for it. Why try to take the Vic's fleet market when they have the Tahoe as the main cop SUV? As of late, Chevy has been making very bad management decisions.

So wait I don;t get it the new 4 door Caprice is a Holden, which was sold in the Mideast which was Saudi..In America we had the Pontiac G8 but GM stop making them..England had a Vauxhall VXR8 but I not talking about it... soooo we now have the Chevy Caprice back and the Saudi has the Pontiac G8 now???????? Why did GM stop making Pontiac and not Buick??????

We have this caprice in Saudi Arabia since 2007 , its actually good , specially if you bought the SS , also there is the lumina ss (pontiac G8 ) .

@Z06vette7500 It's not an AMERICAN Caprice, built in an American factory. It's a rebadged Holden Caprice, which means it will corner, stop and accelerate quicker than any of its predecessors. and FYI, Holden NEVER makes anything fullsized that's front wheel drive
