the guy in the stands he throws it to is a great father, to give it to his son like that. if I had caught that ball from calvin johnson, you'd have to pry it from my cold dead fingers if you wanted it
I'm a Packers fan, & well its not only clear that Calvin is the best reciever other than Andre Johnson, Calvin wrecks Green bay every single year at least once. His team may have not been all that great but now that he has talent around him and help i'm looking fot Detroit to give Green Bay just as much trouble as they did last season.
@glinxz Your right, as far as overall skill set and size, speed ratio, he's almost perfect. He's a "type" of receiver and what I mean by that is when you go in the draft your looking for an Andre Johnson "type" of receiver. He and CJ have kind of redefined what your suppose to be. Not many have played this game have had their overall skill sets at that size and speed.
@Wannybin Percy Harvin has been injured a lot lately..Why him? Mike Wallace? How about..Roddy White..Andre Johnson..Larry Fitzgerald..Reggie Wayne..Brandon Marshall..?
If this guy weren't on the lions he'd be one of the top 2 WR's in the NFL without any debate. This dude is soooo amazing and honestly I feel bad that his talent is going to waste, this is his 4th year in the NFL already. Go Calvin Johnson!
@broad08530 Agreed, but I must say the Lions should be greatly improved from last year. I am not a stafford fan but I think he will be good and Suh was a steal at number 2 because lets face it he was a better pick then sam bradford lol. Many good qb's never pan out because they are afraid of making mistakes where stafford is fearless and is realitivly tough for a qb. I'm a Chargers fan but I'm really excited to see the Lions this year, Stafford should be better and it will be fun to watch Suh and Best. I just hope Calvin Johnson doesn't end up like Barry Sanders did.
The Vikings need some speed in the secondary. As good as Griffin was last year, he still gets outran by WRs with good speed. Same thing with Winfield and Sapp. Hopefully Tyrell Johnson and Chris Cook progress nicely to give some more athleticism to that unit. But either way, no corner in the division could run with Megatron (except his ex teamate Buchanan and possibly Tillman)
@benjlope333 - man i agree we can with our division. All we need is to solidify both O/D- lines and get someone to play opposite Calvin Johnson. We should be fine.

He has a shitty ass QB throwing to him and plays for a shitty team with no offensive threat besides him.

@chuck1180 Wow you are fucking dumb! Larry Fitzgerald is obviously a product of Kurt Warner throwing it 50 times a game. LOLOLOL and i find it hilarious that you included johnny know in your top 5 receivers! He fucking sucks!
man dude STFU cuz calvin johnson only has 3622 yards and 27 td's in his first 4 seasons the league lol randy moss had 5396 yards and 53 td's LMFAO who's better?.....MOSS IS! so don't be talking shit cuz johnson only had 1 1000 yard season and moss had 4 1000 yard season's in their first 4 seasons
@CVUEVikingfan28 Alright buddy first off you need to calculate your stats AFTER Calvin's 4th season is over in which with 3 games left to go he has 916 yards and 12 TD's (he will have over 1K this year as well). If you count Moss's entire 4 you need to count CJ's. Secondly, Moss in his first 4 seasons didn't have 50 different QB's and the worst team in NFL history who doesnt even throw to him enough. Put CJ on a real team before u start talking smack. Peace.
@CVUEVikingfan28 Bradford may be better than Stafford, but not for the reasons you listed:
- Injuries do not speak of the quality of the player. Say Jerry Rice gets injured, does that make make John Taylor the better receiver? Or just the more productive one?
- Bradford just had two straight injury-filled seasons at Oklahoma. He has one full season in the NFL now you say he is no longer injury prone? If Stafford plays all of 2011 after two seasons of injuries, is he no longer injury prone?

No I blame him for being a Megapussy this year. You can't blame Stafford (Jon Kitna and Daunte Cullpepper are far worse). Kevin Smith wasn't that big of a factor for the Lions in years previous anyways... He had an off year and was always injured. Hopefully he can bounce back next year... I just won't be drafting him early 2nd round next season.
Yeah, Kitna and Culpepper are worse, and that's why they're both presently benchwarmers. The point remains that Stafford (and keep in mind, this is purely because of inexperience, a lack of a running game, functional O-line, or decent #2 WR) one of the five least effective starting Quarterbacks in the NFL. I think if they try and build the team around Stafford, Johnson, and the defense, the Lions will be a good team, eventually.
@doyerblue - buddy a rookie QB put under center for the lions is not statistically better than a veteran who has experience in the NFL. listen Calvin Johnson did have an off year but this is because of a weak running game, a rookie QB and opposing DBs constantly having him in triple coverage.
Yeah the rookie Stafford beats Brady? Funny dude. Pep at his best, remember that MVP type season he had a few years back where he set the completion % and total yards by a qb records? As well as 39 td passes. Pep at his best is a level that Stafford probably won't reach, to be as good as Culpepper was that season, you have to not only be the daunting passer. You also have to be a strong runner as well as difficult to take down. 6'4" 265 lbs isn't easy to bring down.
What's crazy is that these moron fans here in Detroit seem to have this ri-cock-ulous idea that Culpepper "Can't throw the ball deep anymore". That was last year when he was out of shape! Have fun with Stafford, aka Harrington 2.0.
you obviously haven't seen some of the throws stafford has made in pre season..don't even compare him to harrington. i'm glad stafford is starting, i can't handle culpepper and his 5 yard check down passes.
Yeah i agree stafford shouldnt be the starting QB neither should Culpepper Stanton should be the lions go to guy hes been on the team longest and he always gets the job done when they put him in, to me they should atleast let him play a whole game see what hes got.
Harrington was a really good good and almost a heisman winner. He got ruined by the Detroit fans and management and always wanting Garcia. You notice when he came back to Detroit on Thanksgiving with the dolphins. He killed us. Now the management want Stafford because they know Culpepper is washed up and old. Even during Culpepper's "good" years he made a lot of mistakes and wasn't all that great
We had Herman Moore during the Barry years. Herman was arguably the best WR after Jerry Rice for a three year stretch. Having said that I agree with you..
Pats should have traded cassel and draft picks for Calvin Johnson and combination of mass and Johnson would be one to watch. Finally we would see the true potential of him becoz he would have a best qb in the leaque.
Pats are going to win the Super bowl this year period
lol...its not like the Lions are dumb enough to trade away their franchise player in Calvin Johnson. We can dream about Brady to Moss and Calvin but dream on cause Lions ain't gonna trade away their BEST player on the team.
It would take more than Cassel, 1st rounder and some other picks...more like 3 1st rounders and a very good young player.
calvin #2 wr under andre johnson lets be realistic for a second there is no way stafford is going to play starter over daunta culpepper hes more exsperienced and and is going to put up bigger numbers this season cause of practiceing with the team before the season he didnt do that last season but now he is so hes gunna problably put up simuler numbers from when he was playing with vikings in 2001 and 2002 when he had moss now he got megatron! aint no rookie gunna start over daunte get real.
Don't get mad at me...you're the one who publicly named yourself and revealed that you are, indeed, a fruitcake with no football knowledge. You're doing the work, I'm just reporting it.
curtis u suck moss is a bum all he do is run straight lines and get touchdowns which means u a bum and dont put fitzgerald and moss in the same sentence larry a true beast and he play with heart moss a bum bottom line
wat r u talkin about Larry fitsgerald never had more than 13 tds in a season nd Randy averages 13.3 tds per year in his career witch is number one all-time bitch...nd Randy is Faster, Better Hands, Prolly jumps higher..im not sayin calvin is not a beast but he is not Randy Moss
The fuck? Randy is 6'4" 210 lbs and ran a 4.25 in college and was clocked at 4.29 by the Patriots before the 2007 season. Calvin is force fed the ball holla.
whats your point, calvin is still taller and faster than randy and id take him over randy any day. and im not trying to start something or piss you off im just saying
Calvin is one inch taller and Randy is still faster...maybe not in acceleration as much but top end speed. Calvin is a freak, Moss is a freak. Moss > Calvin all the way, though...even today. Moss still ran a 4.29 40 just two years ago.
Calvin is Good but he will never be like Randy Moss.....Moss had 30 tuchdowns in his first 2 seasons wake up people there will never be another Randy Moss...i dnt even think Calvin, Fitzgerald, Braylon or any of these young great recievers are betta than Randy right now eventhough his not in his prime anymore
wow what u have gotta realize randy had 1 of the greatest on the other side cris carter, robert smith, jake reed so he was always single covered calvin is double and sometimes tripled
moss would still have the same production if he was on the lions earlier in his career.....moss set the single season record....good team or not both of these players were born to be amazing....i feel bad cause calvin deserves a great qb hopefully stafford can do that....im a vikes fan too, i hope the lions will do better than the packers
wat r u talkin about Randy Moss has seen more double nd triple teams more than any player in league history go do ur research...nd im not sayin CJ is Bad im jst statin he is not RAndy Moss
quit drinking the randy moss kool aid...calvin or fitz could have caught 30 tds had they played on that vikings team in the late 90s...had moss not fallen so far in the draft he would of had to play on a shitty ass team and no way hes catching 30 tds in 2 years.
If you haven't noticed, every big touchdown throw that calvin johnson has caught, he has been unmatched. The lions really got it right when they drafted him. Just think how he put up those monster numbers on the worst team in the NFL. It's almost scary to think of his full potential, and he's only entering his 3rd year! Culpepper+Johnson or Stafford+Johnson. I can only see great things for Detroit in the future. Go Lions!!!
Hell yeah. And you have to consider that unlike Fitzgerald, there's no Anquan Boldin on the Lions to draw coverage away from CJ. Mix that with a terrible overall offense and you've got Calvin battling double and triple coverage since everyone is expecting the pass, and he still puts up huge numbers.
haha 1 dislike-haters gonna hate

Megatron = 2009-10 Fantasy Bust of the Year! Maybe next year CJ...
doyerblue 2 years ago
@doyerblue
He's had a rookie QB throwing to him, and the running game isn't helping, either. He's doing about as well as you could expect, in that situation.
ChargersLVII 2 years ago
No I blame him for being a Megapussy this year. You can't blame Stafford (Jon Kitna and Daunte Cullpepper are far worse). Kevin Smith wasn't that big of a factor for the Lions in years previous anyways... He had an off year and was always injured. Hopefully he can bounce back next year... I just won't be drafting him early 2nd round next season.
doyerblue 2 years ago
@doyerblue
ChargersLVII 2 years ago
You mean Drew Stanton(Kitna was traded to Dallas...)
thecicadaking 1 year ago
I was talking about the QBs who had played with him, before (Off the top of my head). I know I missed Orslovsky, and Stanton :P
That's another point, though
How many consecutive seasons has Megatron ever really played with the same QB, or with a starting caliber QB.
ChargersLVII 1 year ago
@doyerblue calvin is 1 of the best receyvers in nfl ur crazy
LAMBORGHINI748596 2 years ago
@doyerblue - buddy a rookie QB put under center for the lions is not statistically better than a veteran who has experience in the NFL. listen Calvin Johnson did have an off year but this is because of a weak running game, a rookie QB and opposing DBs constantly having him in triple coverage.

lions need to trade culpepper stafford is da man hiim and calvin johnson the sickest qb/wr ever even better then brady/moss
pmills076 2 years ago
Yeah the rookie Stafford beats Brady? Funny dude. Pep at his best, remember that MVP type season he had a few years back where he set the completion % and total yards by a qb records? As well as 39 td passes. Pep at his best is a level that Stafford probably won't reach, to be as good as Culpepper was that season, you have to not only be the daunting passer. You also have to be a strong runner as well as difficult to take down. 6'4" 265 lbs isn't easy to bring down.

Too bad for Megatron getting stuck in Detroit where his talent is being wasted on losing football.
blgolions 2 years ago 2
that my friend is about to change after the lions bye week lol
Ns205 2 years ago
What's crazy is that these moron fans here in Detroit seem to have this ri-cock-ulous idea that Culpepper "Can't throw the ball deep anymore". That was last year when he was out of shape! Have fun with Stafford, aka Harrington 2.0.
AudiomanJS 2 years ago
you obviously haven't seen some of the throws stafford has made in pre season..don't even compare him to harrington. i'm glad stafford is starting, i can't handle culpepper and his 5 yard check down passes.
fetisov02 2 years ago
Yeah i agree stafford shouldnt be the starting QB neither should Culpepper Stanton should be the lions go to guy hes been on the team longest and he always gets the job done when they put him in, to me they should atleast let him play a whole game see what hes got.
razoken331 2 years ago
Harrington was a really good good and almost a heisman winner. He got ruined by the Detroit fans and management and always wanting Garcia. You notice when he came back to Detroit on Thanksgiving with the dolphins. He killed us. Now the management want Stafford because they know Culpepper is washed up and old. Even during Culpepper's "good" years he made a lot of mistakes and wasn't all that great

Pats should have traded cassel and draft picks for Calvin Johnson and combination of mass and Johnson would be one to watch. Finally we would see the true potential of him becoz he would have a best qb in the leaque.
Pats are going to win the Super bowl this year period
deadmanwalkingbitch 2 years ago
lol...its not like the Lions are dumb enough to trade away their franchise player in Calvin Johnson. We can dream about Brady to Moss and Calvin but dream on cause Lions ain't gonna trade away their BEST player on the team.
It would take more than Cassel, 1st rounder and some other picks...more like 3 1st rounders and a very good young player.
gotsome23 2 years ago
yeah the moss trade was horrible I was fuckin pissed when minny traded him. we got garbage for him.

calvin #2 wr under andre johnson lets be realistic for a second there is no way stafford is going to play starter over daunta culpepper hes more exsperienced and and is going to put up bigger numbers this season cause of practiceing with the team before the season he didnt do that last season but now he is so hes gunna problably put up simuler numbers from when he was playing with vikings in 2001 and 2002 when he had moss now he got megatron! aint no rookie gunna start over daunte get real.

Don't get mad at me...you're the one who publicly named yourself and revealed that you are, indeed, a fruitcake with no football knowledge. You're doing the work, I'm just reporting it.

curtis u suck moss is a bum all he do is run straight lines and get touchdowns which means u a bum and dont put fitzgerald and moss in the same sentence larry a true beast and he play with heart moss a bum bottom line
fruitcaKe35 2 years ago
Fruitcake, what a fitting name. I guess you've just started watching the NFL, correct? That's got to the the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
WilshireX9 2 years ago
wat r u talkin about Larry fitsgerald never had more than 13 tds in a season nd Randy averages 13.3 tds per year in his career witch is number one all-time bitch...nd Randy is Faster, Better Hands, Prolly jumps higher..im not sayin calvin is not a beast but he is not Randy Moss
Curtis7414 2 years ago
randy 6-3 195 4.28 40ty calvin 6-5 240 4.35 40ty randy had help calvin no help holla
THYKINGNATE80 2 years ago
The fuck? Randy is 6'4" 210 lbs and ran a 4.25 in college and was clocked at 4.29 by the Patriots before the 2007 season. Calvin is force fed the ball holla.
WilshireX9 2 years ago
whats your point, calvin is still taller and faster than randy and id take him over randy any day. and im not trying to start something or piss you off im just saying
CHEEZHE4D 2 years ago
Calvin is one inch taller and Randy is still faster...maybe not in acceleration as much but top end speed. Calvin is a freak, Moss is a freak. Moss > Calvin all the way, though...even today. Moss still ran a 4.29 40 just two years ago.
WilshireX9 2 years ago
Moss 6'4 200lbs 4.29 40
Calvin 6'5 239lbs 4.35 40
not much of a difference in terms of speed, but Calvin will kill Moss in a fight.
gotsome23 2 years ago
Since when is that a factor in anything? Nice job sounding like a 10 year old: "My dad can beat up your dad in a fight!"
Btw, Moss has fight skills ;)
Also, there is no way CJ is worth 3 first rounders. That's a lot for a QB let alone a WR.
WilshireX9 2 years ago
10 yr old or not, i can sound like how i want.
i never said moss can't fight...well not all nfl players can fight but im sure they can CAT fight...
btw, i dont k who is better or who is this and that
gotsome23 2 years ago
Also, Moss was clocked at 4.25 going into the NFL, the 4.29 was just two years ago and he is in his 30s. Also, Moss is 210lbs :\
WilshireX9 2 years ago
Calvin is Good but he will never be like Randy Moss.....Moss had 30 tuchdowns in his first 2 seasons wake up people there will never be another Randy Moss...i dnt even think Calvin, Fitzgerald, Braylon or any of these young great recievers are betta than Randy right now eventhough his not in his prime anymore
Curtis7414 2 years ago
wow what u have gotta realize randy had 1 of the greatest on the other side cris carter, robert smith, jake reed so he was always single covered calvin is double and sometimes tripled
THYKINGNATE80 2 years ago
moss would still have the same production if he was on the lions earlier in his career.....moss set the single season record....good team or not both of these players were born to be amazing....i feel bad cause calvin deserves a great qb hopefully stafford can do that....im a vikes fan too, i hope the lions will do better than the packers
larsonator69 2 years ago
wat r u talkin about Randy Moss has seen more double nd triple teams more than any player in league history go do ur research...nd im not sayin CJ is Bad im jst statin he is not RAndy Moss
Curtis7414 2 years ago
quit drinking the randy moss kool aid...calvin or fitz could have caught 30 tds had they played on that vikings team in the late 90s...had moss not fallen so far in the draft he would of had to play on a shitty ass team and no way hes catching 30 tds in 2 years.

No Randy Moss is just on a better team
Elbozaburnin 2 years ago
If you haven't noticed, every big touchdown throw that calvin johnson has caught, he has been unmatched. The lions really got it right when they drafted him. Just think how he put up those monster numbers on the worst team in the NFL. It's almost scary to think of his full potential, and he's only entering his 3rd year! Culpepper+Johnson or Stafford+Johnson. I can only see great things for Detroit in the future. Go Lions!!!
justinrocksXX 2 years ago 2
