this was amazing, i prefer this one to the versions of most well known prefessionals, and the tone was just right, especially at the some of the most difficult points, like at 4:45 where the chords dissolve back into induvidual notes, i think you got that spot on where most interpretations seem either disjointed or dont make the induvidual notes clear. in short: very good.
I like lots of pedal, especially with Debussy. The piano has changed over the years, but in general I think that pedal is in keeping with the 'watercolor' aspect of his composition. A little loud, tho. :)
Beautiful rendition! Like OrangeSodaKing says, though, you seem to have skipped over a part. I don't think you use too much pedal, as others have indicated. In fact, your version is a lot like mine. You're very talented!
this is a beautiful rendition. I can only hope to play this piece this well.
In some parts, the left hand could use a little more enunciation, perhaps, but overall this is gorgeous. one of my favourite pieces, played wonderfully.
It seems to me that this is a difficult pieces to play in an environment like a church with it's acoustic. I think that you and your recorder did a fine job considering what was working against you. It might have seemed slightly rushed in spots (as the Beethoven?), but was enjoyable owing to your sensitivity. May I ask what recital this was adn what school you study/studied at?
mmm I think played too fast, specially the last part. I believe that such speed doesn't let the audience enjoy the music. But I liked it anyway, congrats.
That's completely untrue. My teachers (and there are plenty - Chinese ones at that) have consistently insisted on less pedal on my part. But I am born to enjoy stuff like Sorabji, Finnissy, Godowsky, Debussy, Ravel, Ornstein, and the likes. So, I use them anyway. Music at the pinnacle is always open to interpretation. We're not talking about the Thompson's book of methods here.
@elmauro mmm.... i think that the pedal do its work only, makes the enviroment for the purpose of the opus, plus makes the listener in a mood adhoc to the style, maybe u say that because u think (maybe) the notes are to more legatto with the pedal effect?.
maybe, debussy is glad at this moment, because put the opus in an airy mood. it's like the moment of a blink, will stay to much longer, and that impression stays in time.
amazing, goosebumps all over

I myself think you used just enough pedal. Not too much, like some people do...
I like to hear distinction, so I'm for less pedal on a lot of things, Debussy included.

the "problems" with dynamic contrast and muddying of sound (supposively caused by pedal) may be caused by the microphone on the camera.
i think if elmauro saw it live, he might think a little differently.
but i noticed the part with the flourishes 1:28-1:32 you only played once. it's supposed to be played twice. brainfart? it happens ;)

far, far too much pedal.
far, far too little dynamic contrast.

A lot of Chinese teach their students to put a lot of pedal...
no offense to dolcekelly :) ...just what I've observed...
