It's based on part of a series (a damn good series too).

The first one is "Angus, Thongs, and Full-frontal snogging" and the second is "It's ok, I'm wearing really big nickers" (Or in the US it's called "I'm now the GF of a Sex God").

There are 10 books total, the movie is just based on the first 2.
