  • It has also happened to Palin and Pelosi throughout this entire election. Their capability to help run the country is always brought into question on lousy internet threads and behind coffee tables, about what will become of this country if Pelosi goes on a PMSing rampage. It is ridiculous and atrocious and no one in the media will dare address this problem. Why not?

  • While I think Rachel maddow is always intelligent and refreshing, and ussually right, I think people are dismissing Geraldine simply because she has a different perspective than Rachel Maddow.

Geraldine is absolutely correct that a lot of sexist remarks were thrown Hilary's way, even in the middle of interviews. This simply would have been unacceptable and immediatly handled if it were done to Obama.

  • you probably shouldn't say things like "typical male" when you are discussing sexism, Ms. Ferraro.

  • @b4baby

It was a joke about intercourse, it was supposed to lighten up the mood.

  • i just lost a lot of respect for Geraldine Ferraro.

  • Geraldine Ferraro needs to stop campaigning right here, it's obvious.

  • they didn't let rachel talk and she still looked smarter than ferraro. Geraldine Ferraro is the worst byproduct of second-wave feminism: race vs. gender completely ignoring the fact that women of color exist and are impacted by both!

  • 2:19 - 2:24..that has to be one of the most blatant double standards I have ever heard....

with all due respect Ms. Ferraro, I am a typical male and I DO know the difference btw 15 min and 2 hrs...heh no wonder you lost,,,

  • Ferraro sounds like a republican.

  • That old woman needs to stop talking. People like her make me dislike the elderly-- and that's just not fair xD

  • I agree - rachel was super polite and respectful when this old lady couldn't stop yapping, rachel - that is why people love you. I believe that at the root of a true success is, besides other things, humility, which you can sense in miss maddow in a great deal. Besides her incredible intelligence and vast knowledge of the matter she is totally hot !!!

  • Seriously she would not let Rachel say anything and Rachel was sooooooo polite! You are so right and she is the hottest!

  • Finally! I have searched the world high and low for someone who agrees with me that Rachel Maddow is GORGEOUS.

  • I know a lot of people who agree even my mom thinks shes beautiful! She wishes i could find a girlfriend like Maddow lol.

  • @mainlymusic100 I am kinda upset that rachel stays quiet.

  • Does Geraldine Ferraro hate black men who are smart and chosen by the people to be the Dem candidate?

  • @PriaNorm I don't think she hates smart black men. She just doesn't like Obama

  • Holy embarrassing irrelevance, Batman.

  • They're just stunned that she's not winning. They were so certain it would be a cakewalk for her, and they have no other explanation for her defeat. So blinded, they grasp for the only floating, unprovable explanation.

  • Geraldine just blathers on and on. I still don't see any sexism but I have seen some racist divisionism by Clinton by denigrating King.

  • Damn Rachel what happened? She barley got any camera time it was like she was fighting just for a chance to speak.. I listened to what Geraldine said and basically its all jibberish.. blah blah blah it is a Generational conflict thats the reason she and other voters are so damn sensitive about every little minor issue.. Its nerve wrecking just give it a rest already!

  • Did being a woman hurt Hillary? No, being a Clinton hurt her.

  • "Senator Clinton has shattered myths and broken barriers and changed the America in which my daughters and your daughters will come of age, and for that we are grateful to her," Mr. Obama said.(NY Times, May 21, 2008)

So, how would Ferraro spin that into a sexist comment? I'm sure I'd get a good laugh out of watching her contort logic into a pretzel trying to assess this.

  • Ferraro made a big deal about Obama's supposed dismissal of Hillary, yet Rachel tried to make a point and Ferraro dismissed her completely.

Looks like she thinks Rachel's too young to know anything about the subject.

Hmmmm.... Could that be age discrimination on Ferraro's part?

  • Rachel was very polite and respectful. I voted for Mondale and Ferraro, and watched her closely during that election. She was different then. What am I missing here about Obama? I am open minded, but I don't know what Ferraro is talking about. I hope she votes for Obama, as I hope women who are thinking like her, vote for him. As for racist people, well, you can't change that at this point.

  • Hillary Clinton: The mother in law candidate.

And this whiner dares call herself 'feminist'?

  • She talks slow... and she doesn't allow Rachel to talk... hahaha. Hell, she doesn't allow anyone to talk... hahahaha.

  • Geraldine seems like an old-school man-hating feminist. Anything positive that is said about a woman is taken as true because of their character. Anything negative that is said about a woman is taken as sexist and the man that said it should be strung up by his balls because he could never understand the difficulties that women have to go through. Geraldine it's not the 19th century anymore, if a woman can't take criticism as well as a man, then she shouldn't put herself out there.

  • She's definitely an old-fashioned "feminist," profoundly arrogant, sense of entitlement, racist by any definition that makes sense to me. But "man-hating's" got nothing to do with it. Why do you need to stick that in there? Didn't you hear her refer to her husband as if he were just fine,on the same page as her? Anything problematic about a woman's gender politics is automatically generalized and reduced to "hating" men, as if that's the only relevant yardstick of negativity. Fuck that.

  • Agitcam, I can't agree more. I'm a Poliitcal Science major, & one of my classes, Political Parties & Pressure Groups, one chapter pointed out that when an election closes, the side that loses will always be unhappy, citing unfairness. Rachel did her best because Ferraro interrupted her. Also, I agree with Rachel - it's all about perception; what one person perceives will differ. When Obama did the swipe off his shouler, I thought he was just saying to not let negativity get to you.

  • Geraldine is a monstrous old battle-ax. Hillary inspires a lot of vitriol through her actions and the way she vacillates between complaining about sexism and using sexism to her advantage.

Obama's "Annie Oakley" comment was inspired by her taking his "bitter" statement and smashing him with it. If he strikes back at her, he's a sexist pig. She complains about getting ganged up on in the debates, but then when Obama gets torn apart (in PA), she gleefully jumped right in.

  • Ferraro you've yet to give any evidence of Obama being sexist. If you want to be equal (and you should) you have to take the good with the bad. Ferraro you disgust me, they didn't scream or panic over West Virginia. Rachel I'm a big fan, but this wasn't your best performance. You've got to counter her B.S. without fail.

  • Did they attack her because she was a woman or because she was the front runner.

  • Hillary is a creature of the Democratic Leadership Council and is just a half-step away from John McCain. She represents the Republican wing of the Democratic party. She will continue the war just like Nixon did after Johnson for the benefit of her real constituency - Korporate Amerika.
