Because this version was recorded specifically FOR the soundtrack. And these tracks tend to sound a bit different.

If you listen to the track "With a Little Help from My Friends" you will notice that it is very different from the version recorded for the film.

Across the Universe is an awesome movie. It shows how the times really were back then. I was ll yrs old when the Beatles came to america. I cried when I saw them and wanted to run to england to marry paul. I lived the magic of Beatlemania! Awesome beyond words!
