  • Don't worry we still fly Brooklyn colors here ;)

  • I love this kind of stuff.

My Fathers family came from Brooklyn and although they were not Baseball fans, when I asked about the impact it had they plainly said "a big sad impact." That team leaving hurt that borough and I honestly think it would have helped if they had stayed.

It would have been an honor to be a Brooklyn Dodgers fan.

  • wtas the address for this location where it used to b?

  • Thanks for sharing that. Great to see St. Gil rounding the bases. The Brooklyn Historical Society had a small but great Ebbets Field exhibit recently. What a thrill it was for my daughter and I to sit in actual Ebbets Field seats. Much better than the Wilpon's Disney World version.

  • I want to cry...love it.

  • Cool .... history in color.

  • This is a fantastic piece of history. I feel like I am back in time and sitting in the stands. Thanks very much for posting this! Anymore? That would be awesome!

  • Terrific video .. great timepiece to a treasured era, thanks for sharing it. Just for fun, I tried to pinpoint the exact game this was, assuming it was just one game. Perhaps it isn't, notice how the resolution and backlight changes at time 0.50. My guess is April 27,1956, Brooklyn beat Pittsburgh 7-2 that day, with Hodges and Robinson each homering. Problem though .. Don Newcombe didn't pitch that day. No matter though .. this video made my day!

  • @BradMark77 Got out my copy of "Baseball Uniforms of the 20th Century," and you very well might be right about the Pirates. The two '56 road unis that most resemble what we see in the film are theirs and the New York Giants', at least to my eye.

Apparently the post-home-run Cadillac Trot hadn't been invented yet.

Priceless footage of a great old park. It was gone before my time, but I've always heard Ebbets Field was a gem. And the brief glimpses of family are nice. Thanks for sharing.

  • Stunning , a time i would have liked to lived in. 1950's New York , baseball all around , nothing better!

  • I do wonder if there's a solid Dodgers fan base in Brooklyn??

  • sweet footage

  • @italstallion06 priceless. absolutely priceless.
