  • the ninja you are using have 6 blades , the smoothie you are making only covered 2 blades.

the 6 blades ninja was not meant to be used for single serve. try loading both system all the way to the top and you will get a different result ( equal result )

  • @brijie Oh. The Blendtec only has two blades. Did you see the end of the video when I put the rest of the Ninja's mixture into the Blendtec? The Blendtec was able to "smooth" it out. By no means I am trying to endorse this product. It just happens to be do a better job.

  • to this idiot , why not full the ninja

  • @brijie - "to this idiot , why not full the ninja" What did you mean to say?

  • Cute kid,, does advertising very well ! :) However, to me both smoothies look the same.

  • @tecnolover2642 - thanks

  • Is this Pauley Shore?

  • @Akreischer - what?

  • Wonder about Blendtech vs Vitamix

  • i was taking the cheaper "Magic Bullet." 45 dollars or whatever, I blame the catchy infomercials. Anyway, blew out my second one last night. Will go for the Ninja you have here. But blendtec/vitamix are so tempting.

  • @darylbe save yourself the hassle later on and get a blendtec. seriously. an extra 300$; youll forget about quickly and be glad you got the blendtec instead.

  • Amazed at all the comments posted. With apologies, it has been awhile since I visited youtube and attempted to respond to the comments. Keep the comments rolling - good or bad :D

  • Why did I compare the two blenders with one that is more expensive and theoretical mechanical "advantage"? Because I had them at my disposal and comparing two unequal products is the american way. Right? :P Sorry. Everyone seems so bitter about it. Just to be clear I was rooting for the underdog in the battle - the Ninja! I would have rather used the extra $300 to buy a REAL Ninja sword. But, I did not have the final say. :D

  • why r you comparing a $150 blender with a $400? your obviously rooting towards the blendtec. if your blender is so bad ass compare it to vitamix. Then we can see which one is better. Vitamix is a real blender not like blendtec.

  • save 300 dollars, blend for 1 more minute... thats like microwaving a poptart vs toasting.... really.

  • @Purdy1337 ahhh nope. spend the extra 300, you won't regret it, it's a great blender. if you only use it once a month, then go for the cheap one, if you plan on using it almost everyday, then choose the best, choose blendtec.

  • @Purdy1337 - did you see the final part of the video? I kept blending with Ninja and it did not help. I poured the Ninja's contents into the Blendtec and it did the trick. I wish it blending it longer with the Ninja was the answer.

  • Really another way you could look at this comparison is comparing a Rolex to a Timex. Really the only comparison you can put together for a blender like Blendtec is one equal quality and power like the Vitamix well done comparison even though your dealing with blenders of completely different price grades. It would have been better to compare this to a Kitchin Aid blender or the Cuisanart.

  • In all honesty your comparing a 400 dollar blender to one that is sold at your local Canadian tire or Walmart for under 100.00 many blenders you can get a decent smoothie just have to blend longer. Yes the more expensive ones are nice and can do many other ingredients better if you can afford them, but the Ninja unit appears pretty awesome for the value of the mighty dollar and the economy we are in at the moment.

  • you are comparing apples to oranges in my opinion.

  • the ninja1100 is better then the blendtec

  • thats why it's casts more because its better

  • BLENTEC IS MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH BETTTER

  • Wow, people arguing over a damn blender... LOL! I have a Ninja 1000 and I thought it was pretty badass, that Blendtec is sweet! I got my KitchenAid Professional 600 for about $180 after all the sales and rebates were over with, maybe I'll find a deal like that on one of these!

  • Ninja blender for the price is a great machine !

  • @SuperBrett1984 - agreed

  • Drawing that much amperage out of one circuit can slow things down a little bit. If you want to be a little more accurate with total times you should have done them one at a time. They both most likely would have been a little faster.

  • @topless1967stang - good point! There won't be a next time because I had to return one.

  • The only reason I will put $400 in a blender is if I open a cafeteria or restaurant (use more than 100 times a day). I bought the Ninja 1100-Watts and only use 5 or 6 times a day as max. It does everything. AWESOME !!. I also know that there are people out there that are desperately waiting for Blendtec to release a new $2000 blender and willing to spend that money just because it will grind high-carbon stainless steel. Be happy waste your money.

  • I'm still waiting on my smoothie!

  • Any blender can make juice, but the real question is if you really want to shred all the nutrients and enzymes and heat them until they're dead. I love my Blendtec, but it defeats the purpose of juicing. Hurom Slow Juicer is the best juicer. People say you can do so much with the Ninja, but that doesn't mean you should. Use the correct tool for the job.

  • @Trimere I Agree with you I want the vitamins from the fruits and veggies ....

  • the ninja1100 works alot better than the 1000 now,,,,mine is never grainy now...super smooth every time

  • @MySpankster - with I had one for the comparo. At the time the 1100 was available only by mail.

  • thanks for taking the time to make this video review :)

  • @cuteglitternails - thank you glad you appreciated it.

  • I have never owned a 500 dollar blender, but have always wanted a Blendtec and I ordered the NEW DESIGNER one yesterday off Blendtec! It is my Xmas and Bday combo gift to myself!! I am excited to finally own one!! This sucker better last. I hve spend that much on other aplliances ( GUNS) hah! My AR 15 can't so a great smoothie, yet!!

  • @savgal1211 - didn't even know there was a new version coming out until you mentioned it - looks cool, but not as cool as an AR15.

  • @kiheitek100 Vitamix is a great blender, but since they stole their technology from blendtec I would go with the original. Vitamix is paying blendtec more than $11 million dollars after losing a patent lawsuit.

  • @fiso1984 didn't know that. thanks for commenting - much appreciated.

  • @fiso1984 11 Million Patent Infringement Judgment Awarded to Blendtec Federal jury finds Vita-Mix willfully infringed Blendtec’s patents in four-year long court battle

I just ordered the new DESIGNER Blendtec for MY Xmas gift!! The BEST get Copied!!

  • @fiso1984 My vitamix pro 500 1710 will blend up your blentec piece by piece

  • @fiso1984 Let's not start rumors here. The lawsuit had to do with a carafe design that's not used anymore and wasn't even on their popular models (not in this video or what's sold currently; it only applied to the MP carafes). The Vitamix is a great blender and isn't using stolen technology.

  • blentec total blender rocks!!!

  • Great Comparison!!! This is just what I was looking for and Why I LUV YT sooooo much!

  • @esintial thanks

  • Vitamix produces 100 times better texture of the smoothie than Blendtech & this crappy Ninja (that won't last long). But if a smooth texture is not that important to you then perhaps these blenders you showed would be good to have.

  • It looks the same....???

  • hey this video was very helpful thanks! I made the decision to buy the NINJA cause I can live with chunky for a $100 bucks.... I don't need butter smooth for $400 because it's not worth it for me. My main concern is getting healthy snack/meal replacements. I'm happy with the ninja so far but I admit, when blending whole fruits and veggies it does a great job but can't be compared to jamba juice type smoothies. As far as all these other people crying... get over it the guy put a good video up

  • @degacci

Thanks for the comments. Like I said before I could live with a Ninja 1000, but I didn't have the final say :D I kept the NInja Master Prep to crush ice for margaritas I also got at Costco for $30. The like the pitcher with the flip spout.

  • @degacci Sorry to say that you are the typical lemming that will settle for second best. Most people buy blenders to make margaritas and other smoothies. The biggest problem is left over chunky ice which ruins the margarita and other smoothies. All the years I grew up with my parents buying cheap $100 blenders and they all had chunky ice and even worse the motor burned out from crushing ice. Your Ninga will die a quick death. If you think you got something good, you didn't.

  • @macuser5555 I guess you're the son of lemmings then huh? So you're a baby lemming. Listen my ignorant friend, I personally don't use ice in my smoothies so your comment doesn't really matter to me. ReREAD my comment thoroughly before throwing your two cents in. my main concern his getting a healthy snack in and I clearly state that it cant be compared to jamba juice. Now go find something better to do, son of a lemming.

  • @degacci Thanks for your useless response.

  • @degacci I totally agree with you ....thanks by the way for posting this video ....I appreciated

  • @Princesaaymara - You're welcome. Thanks for watching

  • I have a Vitamix, but get your hands on an Omni 3hp blender and do an Omni VS Blendtec video. Someone eventually will on youtube. Anyway, there are not any videos on this site comparing Omni to some other brand.

  • I rather buy American made products, like the Blend Tec. Where is the Ninja1100 made?

  • @Joelx415 USA! USA! USA! :D

  • @Joelx415 In Japan, by real ninjas.

  • I bought my Ninja on sale @ woot for $35.00. Very happy with it.

  • @mrcoconutdick - Banging deal! congrats

  • @mrcoconutdick It can't be the "Ninja Kitchen System 1100" which sells for $160 on their site (free shipping).

  • @johncfl You are correct. What I have is listed on their site as the "Ninja Professional Blender". I do not need a blender to whisk dough or the 40 oz processing bowl, so it suits my needs adequately. It is a hell of a blender for $35.00.

  • I have a Vitamix and a Ninja - I would never compare the two - they just aren't comparable. The Ninja is 1000 watts the Blendtec is what over 565 watts more??? Of course the Blendec with the additional blending power and 4 times the cost...entertaining video...

  • why do you have both a ninja and a blend tec?

  • @PlayingPanda - bought the ninja @ Target and just so happens the Blendtec "roadshow" was passing through Costco. I was sold on the 7 year warranty. And like everything purchased at Costco the return policy is excellent so I wasn't worried if I found the Ninja could keep up with the Blendtec; however, that was not the case nor my final decision.

  • More water in the Blendtec? All ingredients (liquid/solids) were measured equally (read no eyeballing). The Ninja has a wider base so it appears it has less liquid. Regardless, the Blendtec was able to further liquefy what the Ninja could not in the end. If you have an extra $300 lying around then it is your decision. This video was made for fun! Enough said. Where's your "VS" video?

  • I don't think that the Ninja is the best blender out there, but honestly we could all see that the Blendtec had alot more water, and less ice cubes than the Ninja. So I'm keeping my $400. There no discussion about that. That voice in the background was annoying me.

  • I'll keep my extra 300 dollars thank you very much.

  • it does look as if there was more liquid in the blendtec compared to the ninja

  • I bought a $90, $150 and the BlendTec and reviewed them against each other. In my video, I used as little liquid as possible. Any $100 blender can make a smoothie if you give it enough liquid, but it will end up being more liquidy.

  • Excellent - thanks! Yes the ninja is cheaper but if I get the blendtec I won't be like "gee I wish I had the ninja..."! Like a good friend said - buy the best and cry only once :)

  • Ninja better offical. Thats what you say.

  • the blendtec wins no question but ill pay 100 bucks rather then 400 bucks if all i gotta do is hold the button down for 10 more seconds........

  • I love my Ninja 1100. It makes smooth smoothies. You'll see a big difference if you use frozen fruit instead of ice.

  • I just bought this same Ninja and will be taking it back after one nights use. I'm so sick of cheap blenders I finally broke down and bought a more expensive one and it still doesn't do it for me. I put the Ninja through a couple of tests to see if it was worth keeping. It powdered Ice pretty good, and if it has a lot of liquid it does ok, but if you are doing chunks of stuff it shoots the chunks to the sides and doesn't "suck" the stuff into the blades at all. Flawed Blade design.

  • are you kidding!.... for the price and how they almost seem the same to me i would go for the ninja!

  • @eri9390 That's okay. Some people are okay with a gritty smoothie and save $300. However, some people are thinking, I'm gonna keep this blender for 8 yrs (8yr warranty on everything if you buy it from Costco) and if I divide $300 over the amount of smoothies I'm going to make for 8 yrs, then I'm willing to pay the extra:

    $300 / 2 smoothies x 26 weeks (every OTHER week) x 8 years = $0.72 extra

to have a smooth smoothie every time. True, $0.72 isn't chump change but it's not...

  • @n33oh ...but it's not too extravagant either. I chose these numbers because it's most efficient to make smoothies for 2 people instead of for just yourself (all the time for prep / cleaning / etc). If you had a smoothie every week, the extra premium cost for a smooth smoothie would be $0.36.

I'm not one of those people but there are people who go to Jamba juice once a week.

  • aye...if you still got the ninja blender, i'll take it off your hands since you don't like it

  • Why did you put all the ice on top in the Ninja. I don't see any ice in the Blendtec. This is not a fair demo at all. the Ninja is a $100.00 unit. the Blendtec is 4x more money.

  • @Boatdrunker

All the ingredients were measured equally and loaded into the pitcher at the same time. If you pause at .35 seconds you'll get a better visual... there is ice in the Blendtech. The demo, as stated before, was to find out if it's worth the extra $300? I could live with the Ninja (it even has a cooler name) but "I" was not part of the decision process. And I said before, I would rather use the extra $300 on other things. But that's my personal opinion.

  • @CarsThomasFan

After looking real close I do see ice in the Blendtec.

  • @Boatdrunker Exactly! People are always asking why pay $400 for a blender and this is one of the first reviews that shows the clear distinction. $400 blenders create smooth smoothies, while $100 blenders create gritty smoothies.

I would like to see more videos on YT comparing the $200, $300 models vs the traditional kings, VT and BT models.

    Great review guys!

  • I meant VM = VitaMix and BT = BlendTec

  • I bought a Ninja a and love it. It does fruit just fine. Careful the blade will cut you..

Good test.. thanks.. kids are cute.

    m

  • I bought a Ninja a and love it. It does fruit just fine. Careful the blade will cut you..

    m

  • This is not even a fare comparison the blendtec has water and the ninja has ice in it. of course the blendtec is going to be smooth there dumbass.

  • @bagh76 both have ice... just take a closer look. its more than obvious that he is going to put ice to make a smoothie...HELLO... here you are the dumb-ass thinking that a smoothie can be made with no ice. Just saying.

  • Instructions say to pulse ice three times before blending

  • The blendtec only had water. The ninja had ice. Wasn't a fair comparison. Could you imagine what ninja would have been like if it was only water???

  • @bigtyme000 - Ingredients were measured evenly, though it may not look that way in the video. The design of the pitcher on top of my amateur video recording played tricks on the published video.

  • @bigtyme000 -You gotta be kidding right? If the Blendtec "only had water" in it, how did it get frosty. Frozen berries? Get real. You should spend a little time thinking before you post. You probably believe that the kitchen counter is colder than room temperature too. Does it have a refrigeration unit built in it. How 'bout the door knob. Are you a thermodynamics expert? Your post makes me laugh!

  • I love my ninja!!!! The smaller container works better for my smithies!

  • the ninja 1100 definitely does not make a green smoothie! i got tired of asking people and brought one myself,. i returned it the next day!

  • Is this really an accurate comparison? I'm sure that a $400 blender should be much better than an $100 one. This is like comparing a canon rebel (amatuer) to a Mark (professional) and still expect professional results from something designed for amateur. Do you have a Vitamix? Can you do a battle between those? Thanks

  • @acnatural - I repeat the question I wanted to answer in this video is if the Blendtec is worth the extra $300. My answer is no, however it was not MY decision lol.

I'm practical and would've been fine having Ninja smoothies. I'd use the spare $300 and buy a ninja sword. But that's just me. :D

  • @acnatural I have to agree...this is not a fair comparison. I would certainly hope that a $400 blender would be better...but not so much that I'm willing to spend an extra $300 for it! The Ninja seems just fine to me.

  • I have three Vitamixes, two BlendTec K-Tec Champs, a BlendTec Titan, and a BlendTec Smoother 20. The latter two are 220 Volt. I've also had cheap belnders in the past, including some TV models advertised by Montel W and the late great JJL. In all fairness, you certainly get what you pay for. Those who actually make smoothies like bodybuilders, raw food chefs and people who rely on good tasty, smooth nutriition day in day out decade after decade know the huge differecen with cheap stuff.

  • I don't see how that makes any sense. The Blendtec is a $400 blender. It's the ultimate blending machine. The Ninja is an awesome $100 machine that can make bread dough, be a food processor, juicer, and smoothie maker. It doesn't have blades at the bottom like a traditional blender, because it's designed to do a lot of jobs very well. The Blendtec is designed to make smoothies perfectly, and that's all it does. Ninja wins hands down, IMO

  • @sevenbates, The Blendtec does not only make smoothies. It also makes ice cream, soup, dips, green smoothies, fresh juice, and can be used to grind nuts, make nut butters, or make flour or powdered sugar, so it is definitely not a one-dimensional tool, and will last much longer than a Ninja. If you are looking to make bread dough, you are much better off with a KitchenAid than Blendtec or Ninja. For everything else, Blendtec will do the job much better.

  • @sevenbates lol. its made to replace 8 appliances..

also.. i'd like to see the ninja last 7 years. of EVERYDAY use.. my blender just broke.. and im getting the blendtec.. cant go wrong with the warranty..

  • @sevenbates you clearly aren't real familiar with blendtec or vitamix, who both make 'traditional' blenders which are capable of making more different things than the Ninja, from ice cream to hot soup.

The real question is: how much use will you get out of your blender? There is a reason restaurants mostly use the even more expensive vitamix blenders. They are faster, they will last longer, they will do a better job. Competitive markets show that *with enough use* it becomes cost effective.

  • @sevenbates Do you know anything about the blendtec, other than the price? Of course it can do a lot more than just blend smoothies. It can do everything the Ninja tries to do plus more. The ninja is trying to copy and compete with it. That is why the side by side comparison is valid. If they don't want to be compared, then Ninja should try to stay away from the market share lol. Btw, just picked up a blendtec. Holy Crap! My girlfriend was right about these things. If you can afford it, get one.

  • @sevenbates i totally agree :-)

  • Well actually the Blendtec does make bread dough, nut butters, ice creams and more so it is more than just a blender

  • @sevenbates Actually the blendtec can also make bread dough and be a food processor. Neither can be a juicer, they are both whole juice and smoothie makers. The blendtec just does it all better.

  • FOUR HUNDRED. OMG

  • A Blendtec blender will BLEND a Ninja blender...

Will it blend?? I want to see that!

  • now what i would of loved to see if it could make a raw green smoothie!!

  • I really like the CUPS! Which brand are they and where can i buy them? The Blendtec makes a sorbet, the Ninja makes a medium -blended drink. There are many blenders better than BOTH of these, though.

  • @UTAOUB You MUST be in an MLM networking business peddling some crappy blenders because you obviously don't have any clue at all by your statement. Blendtec is the the Mercedes or Audi's or the BMW's of blenders bar none! In addition Blendtec technology was infringed on by the maker of Vitamix and Blendtec was awarded $11 million dollars by the court, which could go up to $38 million when it's all said and done. I agree that you do get what you pay for. Spend your money wisely.

  • @UTAOUB

Bought them home from work when they closed down the office. :D

  • @UTAOUB lets see your blender beat the blendtec!!

  • @UTAOUB There is not a blender better than the Blendtec. Tell me what is!

  • Call me an idiot but the Blendtec is $400 compared to $100 for the Ninja. Is there even a point to reviewing/comparing them? The blendtec surely has to be better. Not better value, but better outright.

  • Apples and Oranges my friend, APPLES AND ORANGES. Its like saying my timex watch keeps acurate time, so was my 800 TAG HEUER really worth the extra 600 bucks? Try to resell your ninja right now on ebay and you would be lucky to bring 10% of its purchase price, the Blendtec blender will bring 350 bucks used with the new purchase price of $380. SO yes, learn how to use your blendtec, softer juicier fruits on the bottom and hard things on top like ice. Oh yeah, BUY AMERICAN AND NOT CHINESE!!!

  • now lets not forget the ninja is 150 and the blendtec is 450 so for 150 its great so if you poo like me go ninja if you got the extra 300 go blendtec or if you got a big ass house good lil kids then get both and make vids and say 100 dollars worth of crunch

  • All I can say is each person has their preference.Since I purchased the Ninja 1100 Kitchen System,it gives most blenders a run for it's money. It may not be a Blend-tec or may not be able to heat soups, but it does make exceptional smoothies with good consistency. It will definitely give most blenders on the market a challenge.I beleive I made a good investment.

  • @jr66167 - agreed - so not worth it.

  • i have to agree. i just bought the ninja after i broke the glass on my cheapo oyserizer. i loved everything about the ninja. after all i am a ninja and this blender spoke to me on all those levels. the first smoothie i make came out grainy. i will be taking it back tomorrow. lesson learned. do not buy a product just because it has a cool name.

  • @thirdtuck - lol yeah I could think of 101 uses for the extra $300 I had to fork over for the Bltendtec - like buy a real ninja sword :D

  • Wow so wait, you go and compare a blender that is 1560 watts to a blender thats 1000 watts (according to your specs) then you go on to say the 1000 watt blender doesnt compare to the other one? Are you serious? This is the worst review i have ever seen. Thats like saying hey guys, lets compare a brand new E Class mercedes to a toyota camry. Instead of comparing something that is obviously more powerful why dont you go and get a different brand blender that has about the same power. Wow.

  • @rklhomes You got my review all wrong. I kinda knew the answer already. For the record (as mentioned in the video info) it was to determine if the Blendtec is worth the extra $300. We purchased the Ninja first at Target a week before finding the Blendtec at Costco. Like a consumer who watched the infomercial, I was drawn to the Ninja for price. In fact I like the Ninja's design more since the top can be locked and has a flip spout to prevent spillage of precious drinks like Margaritas. =)

  • I purchased a Ninja Master Prep too since I like crushed ice in my margaritas. The kids can make their own shaved ice with it too. And the best part - it was only $35 on sale at Costco (reg retail 60). I was upset because the Ninja 1000 did not live up to its' claims.

  • Blendtec has a near-96oz capacity pitcher, fyi. It's amazing too.

  • The blendtec has 3 horsepower compared to the vitamix at 2 horsepower.. The blendtec is preprogrammed to do over 100 foods.. Just push the button and walk away.. It stope when finished... The vitamix is old school but still works ok..

  • Those extra 4 blades on the Ninja don't get used once the ice is broken down. Then the bottom 2 blades don't compare to the whirlpool action that the Blendtec produces.

I couldn't afford a Blendtec so I bought the Ninja Master Prep at Sam's Club. I gave it away a few months later. I bought a fantastic Kitchen Aid blender that also crushes ice very well for smooothier smoothies. It beat out both the Blendtec & Vita Mix in comparison tests ( liquifying whole apples & oranges) at PM magazine.

  • @metaspherz Yeah, but most raw foodists want a smoother result. By the looks of the ninja, It could probably blend a whole apple fine, but they always leave chunks. Same with my mum's kenwood blender, it could blend a whole orange fine, but not for long, at the end result was rather.... lumpy after a few months off use.

Maybe that's because I tried to make ice cream in it like I saw people do with their Vitamix.

Use your kitchenaid for smoothies and soups, DON'T do anything too tough!!!

  • We purchased our Blendtec at Costco so we got the 3 year warranty plus an additional 4 years. I like the price, looks and obviously the name of the Ninja. Too bad it couldn't compare.

Do you have the comparo of the Blendtec vs the Vitamix? Aren't they pretty similar? What are the Pros and Cons? The prices are the same and Costco's return policy is the very good. My Blendtec is less than a month old and would like to know why the Vitamix is better. Agreed - who wants lumpy icecream? lol

  • Thank you so much for doing this vs test, I currently own the Vitamix 5200 and was debating on the ninja.

Now I know my Vitamix is still the best blender seeing it has beat out the Blendtec.

Also my Vitamix carries a 7 year warranty.

I guess they hyped the Ninja up tremendously in those infomercials seeing you couldn't get it to make a simple smoothie. I can't imagine it trying to make ice cream.

Who wants unsmooth icecream? surely not me (8

    *kudos*

  • You're welcome.

  • Thanks for doing this video - excactly the info I needed to decide. I was planning to go with vitamix but the Ninja peaked my curiosity. You get what you pay for...... Back to plan A :)
