Sounds like you are on your way. Good tone and sweet guitar. There is nothing "cheap" about that model (ok,the price maybe). Keep at it friend - we love guitars :-)
When I first played my Standard Strat, the day that I bought it, I was very impressed with how it felt and sounded. I had never played an electric at such a low price that felt and sounded so nice. Fender guitars are built to some high standards--even the low-priced models.
Actually I would like to chime in here. Please pick up a Yamaha Pacifica PAC-112-J or a PAC-112-M, they retail for about $269 and are hands down the ultimate cheap guitar, you will only get the same quality by buying a real American made strat. I didnt buy a $1799 American Strat I played one day so I could buy 2 Yamaha Pacificas, because I could not tell much difference at all between them and the Real American Strat. They are only cheap because the hardware is cheap on them. But
Thanks, for another kind comment! I do love jazz, though I have a harder time with jazz and country than I do with rock and blues. I do like jazz and country a lot though!
I'm also proud of the tones I'm able to achieve with just my cheap Mexican-made Strat through a nice Fender solid state--especially for blues and jazz, and even a little bit for country tones.
Thank you so much for the kind comments on all of my videos!
On my two, I replaced the tuners, and the saddles, and the input jack covers, droped in some new pickups, and now I have two strat copies that I would put up against any American made strat, and still have far less in two guitars than I would have had in the American strat I was thinking of getting. Just look at my vids, I have a white one and a sunburst one, and you can see and hear how awesome they are. You will be amazed by them!
Everyone should contact Yamaha and tell them to sponsor me :)
Tasty stuff!
