Surprised that so far i have seen none of her scenes mixed by Herzog, with his own musik, etc...

Summing up the decades of "punishment" that Leni Riefenstahl endured, film critic and historian Richard Corliss stated in a 2003 Time article :

"There are several reasons...one is that it is just too good a movie, too potent, too mesmerizing.

Another is her visual style - heroic, sensuous.

Finally, she was a woman, a beautiful woman."
