  • All the 83's and up Magnas had square lights. The 82 had a circle light.

  • this BIKE RULES THE WORLD. OK, well, I wish it could.

    I lived with a guy who had one, ok my babies dad;

We were going 100 mph and she WAS NOT even breathing hard.

I had to look at the speedometer, WE WERE F'ING FLYING.

    IT WAS AWWWWWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>>>>>>>>>>

    ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM.

  • You have it backwards about the v45's lights. I own a stock '84 v45 and it's square. The round lights were on '83, and the square ones were on '84's.. There is an entire section of the Magna Owners of Texas website dedicated to guys who want to replace the ugly square lights on their 84's with the round ones from '83. I know because i want to do the conversion on mine. Google "Bikepics" dot com and find the links to the '83 and '84's

  • @pjtunes1967 - uhhhh.. read my comment again. I had an 82 V45. Round headlight. I had a 83 V65. SQUARE headlight.... and the bike in the commercial is NOT a 45, it's a 65.

  • The bike in this commerical is and '84, they had round headlights on all of the '83 models. The Square lights came out on the '84 models. I have an '84 v45 and it's amazing :)

  • @pjtunes1967 - the bike in the commercial is most definitely a 1983 V65 Magna. No question. Rims and handlebars on the bike in the commercial prove it., as the comstar rims and pullback handlebars were only offered in 83. In 84, they changed. And ALL V65s had square headlamps.. the V45s had round ones. I owned both an 82 V45 Magna and an 83 V65 Magna.

  • I could watch this comercial all day!

  • FYI my dad bought that bike, because of the commerical. and hes normally not indluenced by them.

  • Honda's V4 engine back then was legendary. My Magna purred at 7000 rpm and screamed at 11,000! By today's standards no but back in THOSE days..... It was THE bike to have. I miss mine!!!

  • Drove one for 20 years from 85 to 05 til a minivan took it out of commission one day. Even after 20 years on the same awesome bike, there were still days when it's power would scare me. It was wickedly quick but just like the slight speed wobble in the commercial when the rider upshifts, it had its quirks. Not the most confidence inspiring, but still, a blast to drive. Nothing like having torque at ANY rpm. Just twist and go.

  • @rod444rod Agreed. Love my 83. Would never sell it. EVER! Brilliant bike. Long live the V4!!! Still a killer by today's standards. Have totally embarrassed a few GSX R's. LOL

  • @rod444rod Agreed. The wobble is the shaft drives responsiveness.

  • @rod444rod we call em Vjunks. haha hondas worst nightmare! soo many problems with them. but one helluva bike.. wobble hitting second? when i hit second my front wheel is up in the air..

  • does anyone recognize the music in this commercial? i really like it.

  • I was 19 when I unwrapped one of these bad boys from the crate at the local Honda shop where I worked. I was in awe of the raw power these machines had. Sweet sound and no problem makin' smoke from the rear Dunlop Qualifier. Tons of fun!!!!

  • After seeing this commercial when I was in college back in '82 or '83, I had to have one. Now, 17 years and 3 wives later I FINALLY could afford my Magna - Yup looks just like the one in the spot! Unfortunately I have about 100 pounds on PeeWee Gleason - so 10s are out of the question - but it IS brutally quick! With it's rep solidified by this commercial people still remember it and often come up to me and say "Wow, I always wanted one of those!" Kind of a "Hemi Cuda" of its day... CooL
