There are people (we know who) that say minimum wage increase destroy the economy. HUH? If that's the case, if the minimum wage were 25cents/hour, would we have 0 unemployment nationwide? No. Because greed would take the savings from the current minimum wage & pocket it all. That is how business works. Not fair, just greedy.
I used to be against the minimum wage because I thought it was their own fault that they were making so little money and that it would decrease employment and cut into the creation of new jobs ( I won't be fooled again!)
I tell you, I have not agreed with any politician in a long time, I have lost all faith in politics because of how its done and how out of touch politicians are with real people, but this guy is giving me hope again. Good on you, and God bless you.
I am proud to say that Ted Kennedy has been my senator since the day I was born...I have met him three times. He's a great person and I am honored to have him as my senator
I used to work on the hill and sad thing is you will find a lot of Senators don't do work, instead the staff does everything for them, even sign off on policies. . .TED IS ABOUT SOMETHING!
If I lived in MA I'd vote for you. Keep up these video blogs. Many times people have trouble getting informed about candidate issues during election time. This is a perfect way to reach out and get your important messages across.
In the UK, Labour introduced a minimum wage in 1999 at £3.60 an hour and have increased it 58% in 7 years, to £5.70 ($10.70). The Conservatives opposed this throughout and said it would destroy jobs and wreck the very lives of the people it was meant to help. Instead, unemployement fell and the number of people in work reached record levels. So even they now no longer oppose it and accept it works. So what Sen. Kennedy says is absolutely correct and good luck with putting into action.
minimum wage is a state's rights issue. It isn't the government's job to make sure that people are payed enough to live a suburban lifestyle. If the minimum wage goes up, the jobs will decrease. Stop free trade and illegal immigration, this is the real answer. Socialism is not the answer.
I agree totally agree! I just wished more politicans saw things the way you do! You totally have my support. I'm currently a college student and will be graduating soon but not everyone can affort to go to school. Red tape prevents a lot of people I know from even qualifing for loans. The poor and disadvantaged are pushed aside and have been for way too long! Thank you so much for standing up for the common man!
Republicans don't care about poor people. Thank God there are Democrats.

Yes I agree with this... if there is to be a minimum wage, it should move upwards with inflation and cost increases.

There's some concrete evidence that raising the minimum wage would work. Thanks for the input!

One of the few men at the top helping to bring up the bottom. Most on top maintain there status by keeping others down. Not Ted Kennedy
Thank you Senator.
