dude, nice video - but you forgot the clips of May 27th's press conference where Obama outlined 4 very important measures he's taking in response to the oil spill, including 1) suspending Alaska drilling, 2) canceling lease sale off Gulf and off Virgina, 3) six month moratorium on issuing of new deepwater permits, and 4) stopping action on 33 current deepwater exploratory drilling operations in the gulf.

@shoes1922 in the aftermath of the exxon valdez spill in 1989, the government enacted the oil pollution act of 1990 which gives the president full authority to take over the clean-up response. the current spill is releasing the equivilent of the exxon valdez EVERY DAY! he has the authority and does nothing. he is either inept, hates the environment, or is willing let the environment be harmed in his quest to destroy US oil production (but not anyone elses). i will go with the third.

Why doesn't this "high & mighty" Obama only revoke the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, also known as the "Jones Act", as Bush had done 3 DAYS after Hurricane Katrina, allowing other nations to assist with the clean-up & aid in stopping the oil spread? dude, nice video - but you forgot the clips of May 27th's press conference where Obama outlined 4 very important measures he's taking in response to the oil spill, including 1) suspending Alaska drilling, 2) canceling lease sale off Gulf and off Virgina, 3) six month moratorium on issuing of new deepwater permits, and 4) stopping action on 33 current deepwater exploratory drilling operations in the gulf.
What more did you want? He's an administrator, not a HAZMAT expert or engineer.

They have superior vessels and equipments that could clean up the spill 3x faster than what we have and Obama refuses every offer! All he had to do is to waive The Jones Act to allow vessels in the Gulf Coast. The reason he's not accepting help is because the worse the oil spill, the better chance of him passing Cap and Trade! Obama announced a series of new steps to deal with the aftermath of the spill, including continuing a moratorium on drilling permits for six months.
He also said he was suspending planned exploration drilling off the coasts of Alaska and Virginia and on 33 wells currently being drilled in the Gulf of Mexico.

@shoes1922 in the aftermath of the exxon valdez spill in 1989, the government enacted the oil pollution act of 1990 which gives the president full authority to take over the clean-up response. the current spill is releasing the equivilent of the exxon valdez EVERY DAY! he has the authority and does nothing. he is either inept, hates the environment, or is willing let the environment be harmed in his quest to destroy US oil production (but not anyone elses). i will go with the third.
