He, like some martial artists, are trying to separate fighting art from performance/dance. That's a phenomenon that happens to arts that lose their martial goal and place in culture. Communist China's Wushu is diluted dance based off traditional Chinese fighting. Like-wise a lot of Gatka is a martial-inspired performance. This is what Singh is trying to discard - he wants to revive the legitimate fighting art within. I totally support that!

Your analogy fails you. My reasoning is the OPPOSITE of what you say about Nanak being a Hindu because he was born in a Hindu family.
A person going to a mosque a few times- doesn't make them a Muslim as it doesn't mean they accept the Islamic faith. I've been to a funeral of a Sikh-we went to the church for the cremation- that doesn't make me a Christian. First of all, use proper name, brother. He is an Amritdhari man and has 'Singh' in his name. Chief of historic Budhha dal, Jassa Singh Kalal had no pharla and he was a married man. How Baba Balbir Singh is different to him?

It is widely known that there is controversy over the Budhha Dal's next chief. Thus, Baba Balbir Singh is not the only candidate. We do not deny that there are other persons as well who claim to be the next Budhha Dal Chief. Baba Surjit Singh is one of them. Even Nihang Niddar Singh does not recognise Baba Balbir Singh as Budhha Dal chief.

In fact, I have nothing to do with this controversy. I here play the role of a press reporter. You can check the news papers from Punjab (October 02, 2007), in which the news related to Baba Balbir Singh's 'Dastar-bandi' were published. It is true that Baba Surjit Singh also claims to the be the next chief, but at the same this too is true that Baba Balbir Singh is appointed the chief of Budhha Dal in that ceremony.

I respect him for his martial arts and I believe that he deserves respect for his martial arts. So far as views on different issues are concerned, yes we have difference of opinion on a few points. As a Sikh, he is our brother and it is our duty to hold 'Goshti' if there are difference of opinions among brothers.

Baba Balbir Singh Akali is recognised by Takht Sahiban, so calling him a fake is not right. A ceremony is organised and we show what we saw. We are just reporting what happened. It does not mean we promote or oppose them.

hello jas jatta sat sri akaal paaji. Nihangs believe in the hindo god mata ji as they study the Sarabloh Granth. The SGPC absolutely hates nihangs the Indian government gave protection for jathedar of Buddha dal. Trust me Nihangs have a rivalry with the khallos sgpc Wjkk wjkkf
