Nothing wrong with that opinion. In fact I feel the same way when a AMV doesn't do a anime justice. It's why I try to do my best every time I create one, this one was my first I ever made and it shows because it's not nearly as good as my other ones. But still any critiques are welcome.

It's not the AMV that makes the video bad, it's the way you make it. If you put pure speech in it, it'll suck, if you put a song that goes with the battle moves, it'll kick ass.

@XturntodustX Once you've watched the actual anime and already experienced the emotions from the scenes, AMVs are fun to watch, though I agree that some AMVs are seriously shitty. But this isn't one of them, especially since this is just a fight scene anyway - I mean, what kind of intense emotions can you be experiencing? Basically, chill out, it's not a big deal.

I'll throw this out there if you are addressing me SoulBlane. In terms of citations you may have been implying that my little disclaimer of sorts sounded self-righteous and presumptuous. For that I do apologize. I've never engaged in any of the what-if flamewars, but they are hugely abundant in anime related videos all over youtube. Everyone has a favorite between Mugen and Jin, and it's common that whomever a person favors is likely going to say their fave is the best. Honestly I prefer Jin slightly more. However I really don't care about who is better than who. Both of them are awesome, and if were to put in my two cents I would say they are equals. I say this based on the pattern of the anime. Mugen and Jin are rivals, and equals. The theme between them seems that no matter what they will always end in a draw.

Maybe I am? Maybe I'm not. Only the creator of the series would know for sure. But I just get this feel from watching the series that Mugen and Jin are forever locked in a stalemate. Like they can fight, and fight, and fight but there would never be a winner. I find the concept kind of cool actually. Which why I love this video, it really seems to capture that rivalry and eternal stalemate between the two. Especially the end with both their swords breaking. ^^

Great video, nicely put together. Also I love when people make Samurai Champloo videos using music from it's soundtrack, because it really has a great soundtrack. Also considering there's a sort of hip-hop theme pervasive in the soundtrack it's always a little off whenever I see a Samurai Champloo video with Linkin Park or something. I mean I'm not a big fan of hip-hop, but if anything the beats from the soundtrack fit great with any clips from the anime.

I'm late on this one but Jin or Mugen vs Afro? I recently got into Afro. It's very unique, though Champloo remains my fave by far. However I don't think you can compare the Champloo Samurai to Afro. They're from totally different worlds. Champloo is more centered in realism, where as Afro is totally over the top unreal with cyborgs and mutants. Afro would beat both of them due to the fact Afro is over the top and unrealistic. Don't get me wrong I still love Jin and Mugen much more than Afro.

To add on this while Afro is really not comparable. A better fight would be Kenshin from the OVA's. Not from the TV show because again KenshinTV is over the top. But the OVA Kenshin is more realistic and that would be an interesting fight. Or Okita Souji one of my fave anime Samurai from PMK. Actually as opposed to a fight I rather see Souji join up with the Champloo group. His happy go lucky at the same time bloodthirsty schizo demeanor would really be fun to observe among the SC group. LOL

It's fun to come up with "what-if?" fights, but there's no reason to argue over it. My approach to it is laid back and I try to be objective about those "what-if's." I don't know about "better." Jin performed better than Mugen did against Kariya, but all that proves is that Jin's style was better suited for the fight. I think of it in terms of rock-paper-scissors, which is what the interplay between many styles and weapons is like. Jin beats Kariya (BARELY), Kariya beats Mugen... well, Mugen ties with Jin. >_> You're right that they're each other's foils, though.
