  • Damn, this movie is dark.

  • i pretty sure that crusher wasn't that big

  • why would the magnet let a human be crushed all because he wanted his old stuff back ?

  • @Mewtwofangirl Maybe it could represent the struggle to fight for what we love? The magnet could represent those who don't believe and don't care for it anymore, who only desire for what they want (ex: his job to grab cars and place them on the crusher), and Rob still cares for his old appliances enough to want them back; they brought him fond memories as a child. Good memories are something we shouldn't let go if they mean something... Just a thought, maybe?

  • I havent seen this movie for over 12 years, and yet, it seems better than I remembered.

  • First time I watched it. I can download each of the files, edit them, put them on WLMM and make a DVD. I only saw Kirby smile 3 times but I can see humor.

  • 1:33 Wouldn't it be ironic if the magnet simply snatches the stuff she was carrying? That way, she really would be scared to death.

  • They sure don't make 'em like they used to. Can your modern toaster stop a crusher? Didn't think so...

  • OH GOD they showed the death of Toaster ON-SCREEN?!?!

Thankfully he got better at the end, but still, that was the most horrifying thing I've ever seen, and I'm an ADULT who watched this for the first time.

I wish I had watched this as a child... it has a beautiful message. I'm going to appreciate my grandparents' toaster a lot more, and the one we have right now. And my radio, a radio I've thought of replacing, but changed my mind.

    Thank you for uploading this.

  • DAMN, that Magnet hates losing....

  • I was sure that the same guy that voiced "The mask" from the animated series was the same guy who voiced the lamp the whole time. I just found out that I was apparently wrong :/

  • Hey,whoever made that comment about Chris being a B because if her race,no-she's that way because she's Chris and a stereotype of a rude city girl.

  • 1:08

...so that's why it's called The Brave Little Toaster!

  • 2:04

Rob possesses the ability of teleportation.

  • 0:06 the magnets way of disguising himself?

  • your all just a bunch of junk!.... ahahaahahahahahaa,

OH YEAH? WELL, FUCK YOU KIRBY! lol, im juuuusssttt kidding :)...but not really....he was a jerk >:(

  • now i believe that the toaster is a female cause the voice actor is done by Deanna Oliver

  • @rockinamber18 Toaster's voice actor was a girl but Toaster was meant to be genderless. That's why they never exposed it.

  • 1:08

    LLLEEEEERROOOOOYYY

    JEEEEENNKIIIIINNNNSSSSS!!!

  • DON'T SAY FUCK

  • yay XD

  • This movie really is an underated classic. The scene where Toaster jumps into the mechanism was so incredible. My only problem with this is that I wanted more, (and not like a sequel,)

  • WHAT THE FUCK?! WHAT KIND OF GIRLFRIEND IS THAT?! ROB! DUMP THAT BITCH!!! D=<

  • DAMN YOU, YOU MAGNETIC RAT BASTARD!

  • I hope, one day, I can make my own version of the book, and have it a theatrical release.

  • 1:12

I dare ANYONE, ANYONE AT ALL, to name a braver appliance than that little toaster.

  • Would you believe the character designer would later co-direct "Enchanted?"

  • I think it is quite interesting that a movie made in 1987 shows a white person dating a black person, and the girl is driving too! How wonderful is this movie? :D

  • Did anyone notice that right before Toaster jumps into the gears it's just like when he falls into the tub of water in his nightmare? Coincidence? More like symbolism!

  • All through watching this, I was trying to sort what house all the appliances would be if they all went to hogwarts (given they were human)

Blanket would be hufflepuff, for his undying loyalty.

Lamp and radio would be ravenclaw for their taste for knowledge and idea giving.

And then kirby and toaster would be gryffindor for their obvious bravery.

    What do you think?

  • @pinkllama16 I'd see Toaster in Ravenclaw, due to the blue color scheme, but Gryffindor seems better since he's the main character. As for Kirby: At the beginning of the movie, I'd say Slytherin (plus, he's green.), but since he warms up as the film progresses, Gryffindor sounds right for him, but I still stand by Slytherin since it's not the "bad house" that people naturally see it as. Lampy=Hufflepuff, Radio=Ravenclaw, and Blanky in Gryffindor as a kinda litte brother figure to Toaster.

  • Brave little toaster?more like suicide toaster!

  • Thank you for uploading this. All three movies were a part of my childhood. :)

  • I love this movie. When I was little, I was terrified of my family's vacuum cleaner, so my dad painted a face on it and named it Kirby. I was never scared of the vacuum again.

  • Definitely one of the best films of the 80s. And almost certainly one of the most underrated films of the 80s. If Disney hadn't bought it for the Disney Channel before they had a chance of a theatrical run, this would definitely have gotten some pretty big name awards.

  • Im might bee crazy cuss (keep in mind in 14 but it might not matter) i didnt find one dark thing about this moviee exepct the clown scene . -______^ still love the moviee , reminds me of my childhood . (':

  • i used to pretend my dinner fork was the plug and that i was the toaster. now i am dead. post this on 5 other brave little toaster videos before midnight or the clown will drop you in the bath tub.

  • @ericmcfadden did u start that? cuz its pretty funny lol

  • @Professorsammich yeah, lol. i made it as a parody of those type of comments.

  • blast from the past :]

    ...god the 80s were weird

  • @hannahrockon yeah but don't forget that decade had some really good movies. but some were weird like you said. even though this movie is odd but half of alot of people around my age and i'm 18 still remember this movie from the early 90s, so it's a bit of a underrated movie but still holds a candle to those who like the movie from their child hood memories.

  • I don't know which was darkest. The look in toaster's eyes when he realizes he needs to sacrifice himself, the flower dying, or blankie accepting his fate when they're in the mud. How could they even think this was okay for kids?

  • @jgame99 Well I think stuff like this is great. I was very young when I first saw this, and sure there were parts when I was terrified. But that's what makes it such a good story. It's a good thing to care about the characters, and to feel genuine fear for someone else's well-being (even if it is for a fictional individual). I definitely think my pea brain benefited from this movie when I was little.

  • @jgame99 Kids can handle things like this that get them to contemplate things. I saw the film in 1987 when it was new and I was six, and it profoundly affected me, but I'd hardly call it trauma. :) I think kids can handle a good deal of darkness in a movie as long as things turn out right in the end.

  • @TrelliaChan again it depends on the kid...

  • Fucking love that radio. Well I loved this movie as a kid but now I can't believe this was a kids movie pretty dark.

  • the magnet is one annoying motherfker =A=,

  • Did you guys know that a majority of the people that work for Disney/Pixar worked on this film? You can see them in the end credits, (John Lasseter, Joe Ranft, etc.). In fact, they originally planned this movie to have the backgrounds animated in CGI, but the characters were to be in Cel animation, but the idea was scrapped due to the expensive costs. They even included some of the Pixar Easter eggs, like A113.

  • @galaxywarper92 i just saw cars and the plane wings had A113 on it

  • Ah....Now this...watching this again. This was worth the time and the perfect way to kick off the summer. I still love this film after all these years.

  • @finstrike7 Me too. :')

  • @powerbeam08 I know right? It's simply films like this that never grow old.

  • LOL

Lampy at the end: HAHA! I'm aching from JOY.

    Best ever

  • 0:16 - 1:30 was possibly the darkest scene in animation history.

  • Kirby: Yeah, you're all a buncha junk!

-Toaster, Blanky, Radio, Lampy and Kirby laugh together-

    Kirby: ....I mean it.

  • Is it just me or did anyone else think about the fact that those giant magnets are operated by people?

  • @Lyexsah Well either the magnet is doing it's job by itself or the operator has noticed the singing cars and has just gone completely insane.

  • I think I would need intensive therapy after that incident...of almost being killed!!

  • What really baffles me is the fact that The Master and Kris can't hear Lampy laughing.......

  • Thumbs up if the music chokes you up.

  • when the toster died I was like "thats so sad!!!" then Chris was fixing him (or her whatever it is) so I was like "YAAAAAAAAY"

  • Thank you for uploading my childhood

  • Lerooooooooooooy!

  • Oh wow, Toaster was a girl. I never knew that. :P

  • @theblueTACO Is not, it's those talented voice things that girls have.

  • Thank you very much for uploading!!!! I enjoyed watching it tonight and reliving a little of my childhood.

  • I forgot this film sure shows the meaning of courage in the end. Toaster climbed that wall of cars like it was nothing. When i was a kid after watching this, i remembered that you do anything to protect your special one nomatter what, or who they are.

  • Conservation between owner and crane operator

Owner: JOHN WHY THE FUCK DID A PERSON WIND UP ON A CONVER BELT?

Crane operator: I wwass aaaa just doing mmyy job and thhhose applinces hhhas to bbbe destroies aaand

Owner:GODDAMNIT JOHN THIS IS THE THIRD TIME YOU SCREWED UP AND YOU ALMOST GOT SOMEONE KILLED!!!! YOU DO YOU CAN GO TO PRISON!!! CLEAN OUT YOUR LOCKER YOUR FIRED!!!!!!!

    John: Bbut

Owner: NOW!!! Any one care to comment or add more detial?

  • thanks for posting. childhood cartoons :)

  • @calloutmedia

    ...............

  • @calloutmedia Oo!

  • Dude Chris. Your damn boyfriend was almost turned into a rubix cube. How about GIVING A SHIT? bitch.

  • @PumpkinRain I always hated her.

  • Stupid magnet...

  • Its the classroom where disney was started

  • @Artofdeception117 Technically, it was a former classroom of the Character Animation Program at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA.

  • A113 is in a lot of disney movies if not all keep a lookout for it

  • Chris: Why dont you just go out and buy a new one?

Rob: Are you kidding? Where can I find another toaster like this??

Chris: Like that? Probably no where...

so much symbolism in those lines... :)

  • @boowah5 SYMBOLISM!!!!

    !!!OMGWTFBBQGENUIS!!!

p.s Matthew Buck, please don't sue me

  • Wow you know, if your a careful looker you notice how inconsistent the layout of this junkyard is. The path of the conveyor belt is changing all the time, and at the beginning the magnet's crane was on the right side of the front of the crusher, but in this final scene you see it swing around from the left side.. that is unless there's a bunch of cranes.

  • @halfdude This was also made in 1987

  • I gotta admit, I was always ticked off at the magnet for still trying to send the appliances to their death, even at the cost of Rob's life. I mean come on you jerk, you're only supposed to send worthless metal stuff to their death and if Rob still wants his old appliances that means that they *aren't* worthless and you should leave them alone! I swear that guy is way too addicted to his work. XP

  • Honestly, an underrated children's movie. I can remember even vomiting at the part when rob almost dies(hey I was sick @ the time, and also 3). Either way, this movie was awesome, and even at the age I am, a fifteen year old guy who hasn't seen this in 12 yrs, this movie tugs at the heartstrings. I enjoyed the plot, and it is definitely fun to watch this. A good trip down memory lane, indeed.

  • Toy Story made us realize it's ok to love our toys. The Brave Little Toaster made us realize that it's ok to love our appliances :)

  • @HarrowingWinter Yes, yes it did.

  • @HarrowingWinter I feel the same way.

  • I remember watching this when I was 3 and getting nightmares. Now, as a teenager, I love it. The music is amazing, each character has their own theme which can be mixed together for harmonies and what-not. Toaster's my favorite; he just changed so much from the beginning.

  • I love the touch of everything turning red...

  • If Toaster is a guy, why is he voiced by a woman?

  • @babycone530= It's a common animation practice. Women often voice little boy characters. Toaster is supposed to be a child.

  • @babycone530 In an alternate language version Lampy is voiced by a woman.

  • im aching from joy lol

  • This part almost reminds me of final destination.

  • 0:33 Yeah... that would kill you...

  • Disney actually turned down this movie initially. It was a project John Lasseter and a bunch of Disney animators of the time were working on. It was going to be a groundbreaking combination of hand drawn backgrounds with fully CG characters, but Disney canned it, Lasseter was fired and went on to start Pixar, and the remaining animators worked on the film outside of Disney as a cheaper, independent work. After succeeding at Sundance, Disney bought the film and released it in limited screenings.

  • God damn, was this movie twisted. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good movie...it's just really messed up.

  • So much allegory that I never picked up on as a little kid haha

  • You know, this movie actually scared me a lot more as a kid. I was horrified at the thought of getting rid of my stuff because of this movie. But now it's not that bad~ Definitely not the twisted effed up version that I remember lol~!

  • 1:32 - What, like he was playing on the conveyer belt for shits and giggles? Did that bitch not realize that he was about to possibly endure a horrific death? Rob needs a new girlfriend.

  • @minutemuse thats what I always thought...like wow really?

  • Awwwww happy ending

  • WTF is that magnets problem?

  • @Willyj1230 Just doing his job.

  • This scene used to make me cry hard but the happy ending always cheered me up.

And also, from that aerial view it looks like Chris is recklessly driving at >400mph.

  • that sure is one brave little toaster

  • dang when i saw this i couldn't remember this. it's been a long time since i haven't seen this

  • Such a cute movie.

  • @YemayaSwan Well, there were a lot of guys from Pixar today who worked on this movie... so... yeah.

  • This ending was a heckuva lot like Toy Story 3's ending. The dump, the characters coming THIS close to dying... while Toy Story 3 was more emotional and intense, this movie was no doubt very fresh in Pixar's minds when they made the film. A group of abandoned things, trying to get back to their adult owner, culminating in a very close call at the dump? Both are great movies, dark, and have fun characters... but Toy Story 3 wins by a landslide. :D But I still love this film!

  • you know i saw this movie when i was 6 years old and perhaps a couple times on tv in the last couple years, but i didnt notice how much was put into this! i own the other 2 movies, but this was is by far the best of the 3, and i do not own it! probably the one reason why i liked it so much was that its over 20 years old and it has such a dark tone to it. i just think older movies, especially cartoons, are better when they're darker. Animated films are getting more childish today and i HATE it!!

  • @boowah5 It's not really so much as being dark, too many new films are all emo dark. This film isn't dark, it just treats the viewer more like an adult.

  • @WolfCoder hmm true, true..

  • i think the magnets noises are super cool :P

  • I used to love this movie. I think I still have it on VHS somewhere back home....

  • Łojezu, z 15 lat tego nie oglądałem...

  • Man, Rob must be going about 200 miles an hour there at the end!

  • His name isn't credited, but one of the storyboard artists was John Lasseter, the director of the Toy Story movies. Man, those were great. I've always wanted to see a movie where objects come to life out of human sight and are on a constant search to find their master. I'm glad Toy Story was made with such an original idea!

  • i credit this movie as one of many influences on shaping my imagination as a kid. it's strange to watch this now after so many years and recognizing scenes and little bits that i had forgotten--esp the music. haha

  • Air conditioner=Crowning Moment of Heartwarming

  • Stupid bitch! 'Get down here, your scaring me to death'!

  • Chris is pretty hot. Too bad she didn't care that her bf almost died.

  • @MissGenius3847 I think maybe she thought he was just playing a joke on her and trying to scare her and didn't know he really was in danger.

  • @MissGenius3847 i was watching the newer ones and she changed!

  • I really like it when the air conditioner breaks down. When I was a kid that scared the shit out of me. Now it's kind of cool knowing it's Phil Hartman doing a Jack Nickalson impression.

  • wow that was awesome.....

  • He is a hoarder lol.

  • I think Pixar got the idea for Toy Story 3 after watching this

  • <3 i love this movie.

  • I like how Rob's girlfriend drives the car.

  • @FBSnow cuz she's a beast. :P

  • what company made this movies? @6:40 I see Walt Disney Pictures

  • Epic toaster kamikaze attack!!!

  • wish I had a toaster like that

  • @bluedragonfive you can get toasters like Toaster on ebay, he's a 1950 chrome toaster

  • @TheKimico16 thankyou I dident know that but I ment it in a I wish I had a toaster as nobel as that one.thanks anyway .

  • @TheKimico16 It's certainly the classic iconic design right there.

  • 0:20

    Look at that thing. .3.

    -SHOT-

    Best movie ever. C: ♥

  • Okay. This kid is quite frankly the biggest cheapskate you ever liver. Not to mention uncomfortably attached to his past. And we are rewarding this. Thank you strange cartoon movie for telling children to NEVER THROW ANYTHING AWAY EVER.

  • @Joydawn Why waste what you can repair? I think it's a good message about materialism.

  • Why does this movie have to be so god damn dark. Its a kids movie for fuck sakes!

  • I want some toast now.

  • How did Rob even find the toaster?

  • @mrmolo70 Rob probably looked to see what it was that jammed the machinery and found him stuck in there.

  • @GrowTheTruth Its a she just to point that out, (the toaster) and i think id be more happy to be alive then to see why i was alive but hey its a movie, a kids movie too so i shouldn't question it too much.

  • @mrmolo70 The toaster...is an it. It may have been voiced by a woman (Deanna Oliver), but toasters do not have the need to procreate. The creators of the book didn't give them genders, but Toaster is called a "he" during the movie. Radio says "I think he fell into the river", however I believe that was an oversight because most of these appliances are not supposed to have specified genders.

He probably talked to the owner of the place about the accident & they found the toaster jammed.

  • @GrowTheTruth He probley also talked to the guy about his experence with the magnat and who ever was operating the crane got canned

  • @mrmolo70 Probably when climbing down off the belt, he saw the savagely damaged toaster laying on the ground. He recognized it as his own and took it home.

  • Comment removed

  • Rob was driving on the wrong side of the road. WTF!

  • @Duo1 - I just noticed too. What thell hell Rob!?

  • @Duo1 His girlfriend is driving!

  • i remember this it scare me but i like it

  • That damn magnet... *shivers*

  • this is like the adult verson of toy story actully this is alot like toy story 3.

  • This movie was seriously gruesome when you think about it. Starting when the a/c dies all the way to the toaster getting grinded by gears.

  • The toaster is voiced by a woman.

    Toasters go in the kitchen.

It the toaster (woman) stayed in the kitchen, none of this would have happened.

  • @villanonickXgmail And they all died 2 minutes later in a vicious car accident.

  • 1:35

The "Masters" girlfriend is a bitch.

  • I honestly think this movie creeped me out more watching now at age 20 than it did watching it as a kid-- like several other people have said, it's about picking up on the darker tones that you miss as a kid. I still love it though-- great music, great story, wonderful characters... everything. Disney Studios, are you taking notes?

    Thanks for posting it! =D

  • @Dorkfish2009 It is Disney. That's the scariest part.

  • @drakovolf Actually, it was RELEASED by Disney. It was actually produced by Hyperion Pictures.

Though I suppose you could still say it's Disney by proxy, since they released it.

  • @drakkar500 Ahh, okay. Those cheaters. :)

  • @Dorkfish2009 Oh hell yeah to that. I have been disturbed the entire way through. So much darker at 22 than 5. Great film though. This is true Disney magic. Twisted magic. That's dark.

  • @CaeliCelina It's not a Disney film technically.

  • That scene where the magnet closes his eyes and comes after the Master is tied with the clown as the scariest scene in the movie for me.

  • cool movie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :]

  • the vacuum reminds me of my uncle john.. :s ive always thought that even when i was little. i think its cos they both have deep voices and are always grumpy. lol

  • Wow. I really wanted to watch this again, since I hadn't seen it in quite a few years. It was a lot...darker than I remember from my childhood.

Still an epic movie anyway. :3

  • "Oh, oh, I'm aching from joy!"

Best last line of ANY movie ever.

  • @KekoaOnorati Ad-libbed by Tim Stack.

  • Some girlfriend Chris is.
