  • Out of all the VISA commercials, Kerri is the only one in which Morgan does not say her name. That can be attributed to the fact that if you don't remember her name you have must have been living under a rock.

  • EPIC moment. EPIC voice.

  • crazyness.

  • Inspirational.

  • @FuxiaAngeL she CHOSE to go again.

  • I never expected to cry from this.

  • Ehy, a girl broke her leg!!!!

It's terrible when a coach forces to do it again!!! Have you seen the video of that olympic games?? She was crying, not for the victory but for the coach!!!

    Horrible game...

  • These commercials always make me cry.

  • I absolutely adore Morgans voice!!

  • OMG i watched this like 14 times durring the olympics I LOVE IT:)

  • who cares she suck

  • the show "make it or break it" used this in one of their episodes..one of the girls hurt her leg and had to the vault with one hurt leg.......just sayin

  • @13rainsN13eauty with an entire nation watching.. needing a 9.4 to win.. i'm sure it was just like that. >.>

  • You know you're a badass when Morgan Freeman narrates a commercial about you. LIKE.A.BOSS

  • @Aditee8 LMAO!!! You're so right!!

  • Go World? I'm all about global community and brotherhood but that was 100% USA moment.

  • Put Derek Redmond, Dorando Pietri and Vanderlei Cordeiro de Lima on it.

  • What an incredible, classic olympic moment...still gives me chills all these years later.

  • @prncesskarleigh makes me so happy i tear up still!! haha

  • Pimp.

  • Morgan Freeman's voice = the best voice ever created by God!!!

  • @Mikizzle15 Morgan Freeman IS God.

  • I am really amazed at this. However, I think she landed on both feet. That probably shows more dedication than landing on one anyway, because it must have hurt.

  • now that is a true athlete.

  • chills and tears. chills and tears

  • I was rocked to the core by this.

  • i feel that if i ever spoke to god he would sound like morgan freeman

  • @kb9102683 lol I sure hope so. that wound be amazing

  • @kb9102683 hahaha bruce almighty

  • @xoCbeanluvaox u suck

  • Truly a tribute to her hours in the gym of doing the same thing over and over, so that muscle memory could take over...and guts!!! Still inspires me all this time later!!

  • to have your story narrated by Mogran Freeman is so bad ass

  • Morgan Freeman can make an already awesome event sound even more amazing.

  • I agree, perfect choice for these adds

  • Still makes me teary eyed with pride cause you know that hurt. True courage and dedication to her team and the dream of the Olympics. That was a great year for us.

  • That's America! THAT'S AMERICA

  • OUCH!!

  • She played it by ear and waited to see how her ankle was before the AA and event finals, in hopes that she might be able to handle something, and chose to let the next person who qualified step in, in her place! How can you all be so hateful and say she faked her injury? Thats so wrong!

  • Agreed, It is SO wrong and utterly ridiculous!!!! Isn't it?? As if all those top notch doctors would be fooled, and fake her diagnosis??? And what, did they do,put make up, and prosthetics on her ankle to make it look so swollen, misshapen, and discolored when they showed it several days later??? That would take a pretty impressive conspiracy!!! LOL, it is absurd!!

  • insperational!!!

  • You gotta really want it... go Kerri!

  • I choke up everytime!

  • Also Supercue, you have never answered to OUR satisfaction, how did they make it looked contorted and discolored, makeup? WHY would a gymnast who wanted DESPERATELY to compete in the AA lie to prevent herself that opportunity? There are other arguments on several of these videos, answer!

  • But she was also just getting over another ankle injury. I agree with 66nylorac.

  • she had a 3rd degree sprain in her ankle which is basically a broken one,

  • i did that to my ankle and i could barely walk until the next day. she's amazing!

  • The next Mary Lou!! Love her!

  • does anyone know the name of the music in the background?

  • Kerri Strug has been such an inspiration to all of the dedicated gymnasts. I am an elite gymnast, 14 year old and she still is one of my idol's. how more dedicated can you get when you have a broken, torn, i really dont know what happened but i know it was awfully painful for her to land on one foot while the other was hurt. Anyways, how more dedicated can you get when your ankle is in MAJOR pain and the fate of your countries team is on your shoulder, its a do or die thing. GO KERRI!!

  • she did it for the gold

  • It was her heart that made her do that. Desire, not only gold since she overcame a looooooong way of being overshadowed by everyone and her own self.

  • I was talking about what she said after she did it. She said "we did it for the gold"

  • this was one of TV's most memorable moments

  • She is an testiment to American "will power," when it absolutely needs to get done or else..only an American can be relied upon!!!

  • Kerri Strug is amazing.

  • Like I said, in the AA they showed her bare ankle and it was definitely broken!

  • Dr. Mills,

No matter how much you want to make your point, you can't tell that an ankle is "definitely broken" by seeing it on TV. lol You can't even tell if it is so much as swollen without comparing it to the other ankle (which they did not show). Sorry.

  • AND LIKE I SAID: A Dr. can't even tell if an ankle's broken just by seeing it on TV. How can you? The fact is IT WAS NEVER BROKEN! It was announced during the AA coverage as only a moderate sprain. Why are you making stuff up? You're losing all credibility by fabricating facts.

Can YOU admit when YOU'RE wrong or will you resort to lies and name calling to try and prove your point?

Either answer the question or stop wasting our time with this nonsense.

  • It's like contradiction to yourself. You are the one clearly claiming that she faked this injury when I'm saying she had one. None of us are doctors (I'm only 15!). When I saw the ankle on the NBC coverage, it looked pretty ugly and distorted. I'm not diagnosing something that happened 13 YEARS AGO! I have an idea. Why don't YOU stop your BSing and just let it go. Oh, by the way, your question is just retarded.

  • You're only 15. THAT explains a lot! Thanks for playing.

  • That explains why I'm not being a total idiot and claiming Kerri Strug faked her injury. Just let it go already. You're not going to win. There's 13 year old evidence that she had an injury.

  • Than that makes what Keri Strug that much more amazing. Sprains are more painful than breaks.

  • Are they? That's debatable. Anyway, you say it's amazing. I say it's unbelievable.

  • if she was "faking" she wouldn't have been put in the hospital for a lateral sprain and tendon damage. I think this was amazing.

  • ??? I don't know what you're talking about but she was taken to the the hospital to be examined and said to have a "moderate strain". This was reported live at the medal ceremony. She was never admitted or "put in" any hospital but try and do me a favor...ANSWER THIS: If her ankle was really hurt, why would she sit back on it and use it to stand like she does in 1:45-2:00?

  • OMG! Give it a rest. All of America knows that she really hurt her ankle and she couldn't compete in AA because of it. This is a known fact that she had this injury. Why do you think she was limping on the way back after her first vault? Huh? She did the second vault for the team and her country, so don't argue that.

  • Everyone can see that you are answering my question with a question because there IS NO REASON for anyone with an authentic ankle injury to behave as she did in 1:45-2:00. If you take a deep breath, check your ego and look at the facts objectionably from both sides, it is painfully clear. I felt just like you when it was first brought to me but I couldn't explain her actions either. I have even asked Dr.s and they were speechless.

It sucks I know but if you can think of anything, let me know.

  • There's NO REASON for you to call her a faker. Gymnastics is a sport where injuries are an everyday thing. Just let it go. This was, what, 13 years ago!

  • FOR THE 3RD TIME STRAIGHT you've avoided answering my one and only question

If you think she was really hurt, then try and give us ONE common sense reason why someone with a freshly injured ankle (like YOU say she had) would REPEATEDLY roll back torquing it the way she does (so much that at one point the entire front of her foot is in contact with the mat). You are not seriously asking us to consider that her "testing" it are you?

You must admit her actions at least look a little questionable.

  • I didn't answer your question with a question. All I said was that gymnastics was a sport where injuries are an everyday thing. Plus, it was over a decade ago. It's a fact she was injured. I don't need proof. Let it be!

  • I said you AVOIDED ANSWERING my one and only question...and you did it again (4x). Could it be that there is no logical answer for someone to do that???????? I want to believe in her heroism but I couldn't think of one either.

  • Will you get over with that "avoiding your question" thing already? It's pissing me off just like your arguement and how she's "faking". You know what? This was 13 years ago (over a DECADE), so get the hell over it already.

  • It's not pissing you off enough to try and answer it though is it? If you want me to get over pointing out that you are avoiding the question, stop avoiding the damn question! lol

With all the time you have spent responding I would think that you would have come up with something...anything by now to explain her actions but it's obvious that you either CAN'T or really agree with me but can't bring yourself to say so. That's sad.

ps You know this makes 5x don't you?

  • The damn question is retarded! You should know why she did it. To try to win the first gold medal for the US WAG Olympic team and to know that she was the one to do it. Nobody knew how serious the tiny injury from the first vault was until after the second vault when it clearly was serious.

  • You're funny.

The question AGAIN (6x)is: If you think she was really hurt, then try and tell us why someone with a freshly injured ankle would REPEATEDLY rock back torquing it the way she does in 1:45-2:00 (so much that at one point the entire front of her foot is in contact with the mat)?

She didn't do THAT to win gold. She already stuck the vault. lol

The "clearly serious" injury remained tiny after the 2nd vault. It was only a moderate sprain per the Dr.s that examined her. Sorry

  • Seriously, get over it. You're wrong and you hate to admit it. There's proof she had an injury. She was carried off to be examined and she came back wearing a CAST. Plus she didn't compete in the AA because of that injury.

She was in pain, so instead of falling over from hopping on her right foot, she got down.

Stop criticizing something that happened 13 years ago. You're coming off as a douche.

  • If I'm wrong, give us just 1 reason that she would do that to her ankle (7x). It's obvious that you can't. Because there IS NO reason for this.

I don't mind being wrong. She was diagnosed with a "moderate" sprain. Look up the meaning.

If she was in real pain, she would have never subjected her injury to that kind of weight and movement.

I WANT to believe you but her actions don't support your arguments. Neither does her prognosis of only a moderate sprain.

  • Their is a definite possibility that she was testing her ankle for pain, other than that I believe she was either trying to find a more comfortable way of resting it, as you can see she is moving it repeatedly. Also as a gymnast her ankles would have been very flexible so it wouldnt have hurt her as much as another person to extend it, there is also the fact that her pain threshold would have been high.

Nevertheless she wasnt faking, it doesnt make sense for her to shut herself out of the AA.

  • And it's a definite possibility (whatever that means) that she wasn't. (it's either definite or a possibility. can't be both)

If that what yo think a gymnast looks like "testing" a fresh ankle injury, I would question your source. An injury is tested gingerly. 1 to avoid pain but more importantly to prevent further injury. She flops and folds her ankle like it doesn't hurt at all...REPEATEDLY. nothing ginger about what she did.

  • Flexibility allows more range of a good joint without pain not an injured one.

A high tolerance for pain might explain how she could have vaulted successfully but does not address my question of why she would continually mistreat herself after the vault if she was really hurt.

  • Under all that pressure, it DOES make sense for her to feign an injury after her 1st fall in case the unacceptable happens again and she fails on her final attempt. She simply painted herself into a corner with it though and had to continue with the act (though not very convincingly) after sticking the 2nd vault, excluding her form the AA.

This explains her actions very neatly.

Thank you for addressing my question though without insulting me.

  • Um no actually a definite possibility means that it is not impossible. Go back to grammar class.

Yes but had you read correctly you would have realized what Ive already said, her ankle is really flexible, she bends it about halfway to what she could before she stops. That seems about right to me.

  • |f YOU went back to grammar class, you would find that "definite possibility " is an oxymoron aka an impossible contradiction.

Again, if what you see is her "testing an injury" then I would question your experience with ankle injuries. Mines is extensive (30+ years).

I take it that you're not an athlete, coach or in the medical field and base your opinion on your feelings and not the facts. We can debate facts but I will never try to change your feelings. It's a "definite impossibility".

  • Im not going to argue grammar with you, but you need to learn to recognize literary techniques properly.

Phew 30 years, you must be old! I don't care because regardless of ''experience'', you can still be wrong.

In fact I am an athlete, and a few months back I tore some lateral ligaments in my ankle while training. So I would have a better picture to what it feels like, I believe she acted as anyone would in her position, not knowing exactly what to do with it or what position to put it in.

  • Thanks for conceding the grammar.

The instinctive position for ANY injury is to hold it in a state of rest (not flex) protecting it from contact and further injury. She did neither. You didn't fall on top of your injury did you?

Sit back on your ankles the way she does and tell me if this would ADD or RELIEVE the pain and tension on freshly damaged nerves in your ankle. It's not even a close call. This rocking would have caused EXCRUCIATING pain and is why I don't think she'd do it.

  • she went to the hospital afterwards for a third degree latteral sprain and tendon damage. i dont know what you were trying to say but she was definetly hurt pretty bad

  • ???What does that even mean???? You don't "go to the hospital" knowing the extent of your injury. lol

However, I CAN tell you that when the Dr.s actually examined her, they could only say she had a "moderate" sprain. This was reported LIVE, ON-AIR by the reporters commentating during the All-Arounds.

Where did you get your information from? Did you make it up? I seem to be getting a lot of that around here.

  • They made that immediate diagnosis, whilst being in a hurry to give the minimum treatment that would allow her to join her team mates for the medal ceremony.

Later, after an MRI, they found that the injury was worse than what they announced on TV.

If she was faking, then all of the doctors, trainers etc. collaborated with her. think your theory is absurd, and I wonder why you insist on trying to stain the reputation of this beloved athlete.

  • OK, now we're getting somewhere. I have no problem admitting if I'm wrong. Her reaction simply seems too damaging to this particular injury.

If you can tell us where you get this information so that I can verify, I'll be happy to retract.

  • I have responded to many of your posts as you try and poison this moment in history. She was later diagnosed with a 3rd degree sprain, on the inSIDE of her ankle. 3rd degree means the ligament(s) was/were completely torn.

As for the "rocking" the only basis for your accusations, I watched carefully, watch the actual joint, it never flexes as she slides forward, as for her weight it was mostly over her arms then she reaches back and releases her foot and whatever pressure there was.

  • I think she was injured, maybe not badly, but injured.

  • what is the name for the song.

  • thats amazing! i cant beleive she landed her vault on one foot!

i can barely do a layout salto off vault!

Shes my role model...i did a report on her!

  • Well, technically, she didn't land it on one foot. Before the vault, she could walk; after the vault, she couldn't. That was from landing on both feet. She may have been favoring one side, but she landing on both feet. Amazing, either way.

  • Kerri is a great American champion. Visa sucks ass and will do anything it can to suck more money out of people, including exploiting a fine American moment.

  • this keeps bugging me - she landed on BOTH feet, but brought her left foot up immediately after. Still, she was great. :~)

  • It is figurative language moron. She didnt have the full use of her left foot since it was injured, hence the "do it all on one foot." Everything is not literal, especially marketing for visa adds. Nonetheless I loved these adds and thought this one was particuarly well written.

  • i remember when this happened. she twisted her ankle and tried to do it on one foot during the first vault and fell. She literally landed with most of her weight on her good ankle. This was an incredible moment to watch as a child.

  • She was determined and that's all you need in gym, nastics(besides not minding if you fall and skill)lol!!!

  • she's injured, see she kept going! u ding dongs not steroids on gymnastics!

  • WOW AMAZING!!! GO GIRL!!!

  • dayyummm girl!!

    that was amazing.

  • That is amazing!

  • you gonna argue with morgan freeman bitch?

  • anger management much?

  • oh and whats the song? i like it

  • VISA owns the world!

  • dam dat is determination... i kno if that was me i would of just quit... but woooow gotta love her

  • lol! steroids on gymnastics? u retard! ahahaa

  • nukelok ure a dumb faggot u dnt know shit.

  • why the hell would yo take steroids for gymnastics. what are you retarded?

  • wow. issues. -.-

  • Song plz??

  • NukeLok - Forget to take your meds?

  • Wow! I actually remember watching this Olympics when she got hurt. Since then, I've always associated Gymnastics with her.

  • Kerri Strug = Badass

  • She's performing at an Olympic level with an injured ankle. Regardless of if she stepped with the injured foot or not, IT WAS INJURED -.- She was pretty much completely relying on the other foot.

She Did It On One Foot.

  • my nigga morgan

  • LOVE this commercial!

  • Morgan Freeman kicks ass. I love his voice. And Kerri Strug kicked ass for the US too. I love watching USA win!!

  • these commercials are awesome

morgan freeman is good too i guess lol

whats the name of the song?

  • Clutch

  • that's very impresive...even though she had a sprained ankle, she still went out and won gold for u.s.a.

  • nice...

  • yea, but you didnt see that her ankle was really badly sprained, did you? And besides, when she landed, she had one foot up in the air...or did you not notice that?

  • i love this commercial too!!! thats awesome how she landed!!!!!you go girl!

  • You clearly aren't old enough to have watched Kerri do that live. She sprained her ankle on the first vault, and the coach told her if she didn't do one more vault and get at least a 9.4 the USA would lose gold. So she stuck the landing on a sprained ankle and got a 9.7. This vault won the gold. It's one of the greatest Olympic moments of all time.

  • Thanks for telling all the youngsters here the story. That was one of the best moments in olympic history. She had some heart, my friend.

  • ouch...thats gotta hurt...but she did like it was easy. go kerri

  • i think it was a great commercial and with me being a athlete myself still at age 12 and able to swim in sectionals is great i think she shows how much heart she had and you saying go suck a (man hood) is very disrespectful..... why dont you try breaking your leg and having heart to spin around the air and stick a landing

  • Uh, you are a complete moron. The fact that "she did it all on one foot" shows how much heart she had. Holy crap, it's called an implied meaning...anyone who isn't mentally retarded would understand it.

  • anyone knows the background musics name?

  • some of you are idiots, what she did was amazing, what these athletes do is amazing, when they do it injured its spectacular

  • by stating that she had to do it on one foot just goes to show how much heart she truly had

  • well, sort of. one of her feet was pretty useless because she tore ligaments and tendons on her first vault.

  • she had to stick her landing on one foot,

cause when she landed she broke her leg/foot

    whatever.

  • no, her ankle was already injured.

  • No she sprained her ankle on the first vault. She then did a second vault which got her a 9.7

  • i agree..to slightly correct freeman though...she did it on one *good* foot (=...the music for these commercials are amazing.........jus wanted to throw that in.

  • she had a sprang ankle it was her second time around the doctor said she shouldn't, but the judges let her. It's not how many feet she used it's the heart it took to do it again

  • amazing!

  • it is a nice presentation but really crappy for VISA to exploit it. I remember when it happened and it was more memorable than even this silly commercial can capture

  • This puts tears in my eyes

  • i remember this i was hoppin up cuz she won it for us!!!! great moment!!!!

  • I remember watching while it was on tv. OMG it was the single most amazing thing I have ever seen.
