Jeld-Wen is a great company to work for, not only do they have a great pension plan that matches your contributions, they also have 5,10,15 year bonuses for hourly employees and benefits. you are making what you are worth, if you want to be payed more go to university and after you get a degree jeld-wen will promote you.

I have worked in 2 Canadian plants first as a front line manager then in the office, the hours are long but the work is rewarding.

I've worked at the JELD-WEN El Cajon plant. Before Jeld-Wen bought us out, our company was makin so much business...now that Jeld-Wen took over our business went down hill. The El Cajon plant is now closing. Windowmaster was the only reason why JELD-WEN was able to stock their shit at Depot. Customer who calls still ask for Windowmaster and not JELD-WEN. The pay suck as hell. I work in the office and we have this cost of living crap that makes no sense.

the shittiest job is bedding sash and frame glass at 90 mph on Single Hung to much of putting bead in glass fucked up my hands i got early signs of carple tunnel and do they give a fuck. OH FUCK NO!

Beading sucked, but finalizing on the high speed line (what i was doing) was at least that bad. I DO have carple tunnel as a result of my time there. Then they fired me because my car broke down, and i called in ONCE.

So, you are the du*ba** who builds those s*h*i*t doors......You can be "proud" of your craftsmanship. It singlehandedly cost your NC facility millions of dollars in LOST sales. And now your branch is on a 32 hr work week and 2/3 of the production people that were there in January are GONE. The economy is only partially to blame. Management (none) and QC (none) are the main reason for lost sales. Along with that idiot in purchasing.
