Als Zaankanter vind ik dit een enig filmpje. Vooral omdat wij deze klompendans uit Czar und Zimmerman zelf hebben gezongen. Leuk al die bekende beelden van de Zaanse Schans.
My family always makes sure to watch anything Andre and his orchestra offer, you are never disappointed, his entertaining is just wonderful! Keep up the good work! Was that the old village of Marken? Always fun to experience photos of the old country!
this is the best and funniest Holland promotion I have seen in a long time. I specially had to laugh at the end when they all kicked those dreadful cloggs off. The costumes are not really the same as our national costume, which actually is only worn by some inhabitants of the fishing village Volendam. For the show the costumes were made a little more colourfull.
I am dutch and I am pretty sure I always will be dutch and I am proud of the people that still put on the clouthing that fits to HOLLAND.And nope I am not a "smurf"
@xjdubber: How sad you feel that way, you surely know that people don traditional costume only on special occasions like Carnaval or for filming stuff like this.
That you see it so negatively surprises me, I (a Brit) lived in Breda for almost eight years and enjoyed every day to the utmost, the Dutch are rightly proud of their long heritage and history, so indulging in dress up is not "dressing up like a Smurf" - aren't they Danish, anyway?
@donnagannoncoe1 I completely agree with your response to @xjdubber. I'm American of Dutch heritage (parents were born, met and married there, then moved to the US), and very proud of it. I think the traditional costumes of all countries and regions are beautiful; in fact, The Netherlands traditional attire varies geographically. Oh, and the Smurfs were actually created by a Belgian. :o)
I don't know, pretty sure this is one of the reason i gave up my citizenship to become canadian. Dressing up like smurfs is not something i'm proud of!
Lovely video. Andre Rieu the great enertainer, Maestro you have the ability to make people happy with your acting!! My musical hero cum entertainer. Bravo Andre. Love and kisses from sri lanka.

Great visuals, but it would be nice if the audio was in the sync with the video ... and if the dancers were in sync with the orchestra!!

@JJSDrifter Marken indeed looks quite similar but i believe it's Zaandam . De Zaanse Schans to be precise . And of course Amsterdam and Kinderdijk .
