I had fun with the new Melrose Place; a guilty pleasure. Ella (Katie Cassidy) was great. You could tell she was enjoying the role. She should've told Amanda, as she is walking out in handcuffs, "You're a criminal now, Amanda." That biatch!

This show definitely got good towards the end of the season. The beginning was horrible. How long did that med student/prostitute thing drag on for?.....and then the jonah and his annoying finace.....horrible.

Katie Cassidy made this show. She really played Ella perfectly. It would've been fun to see her and Amanda get in some good old fashioned melrose place brawls.

hopefully someday down the line they will revamp it, recast it and bring in some of the original writers cause this show could have finally went somewhere.. Some of the storylines were wack and they didn't make any sense to me... All these characters all of a sudden having kids was just a bit too much for me.. But this storyline with Amanda and Ella could have made this exactly like the orignal...

@Jakeof5 The reason the 90210 remake is able to go on is because it's a show on a network (CW) with only 1 target demographic which are teens meaning there is no competition with another show on that network unless that show has more than 1 demographic to beat the odds for ratings. Because the CW only has 1 target demographic, the ratings for every show on that network always stay below the Nielsen 100 (top 100 shows from all networks) because other networks have more teen viewers than CW.

@Jakeof5 (cont) I don't mean to geek out on you but I'm trying to get in the entertainment business myself and it helps to know these things..........What made the Melrose Place remake a flop was because the original Melrose Place was a show that centered around adult characters out of college which is the same formula the remake used & that didn't fit the overall agenda of the CW which was to have another show with teens characters that a teen crowd could watch.

They never gave the new actors a chance. The show bombed because they pulled all their old characters back in. This ruined it and made everyone loose interest.

I think after Katie's upcoming movie she could get her own show but she is far better then television and needs to stay in motion pictures at this point forward.

The only reason Ella brought down Amanda in the sereis finale was simple. Producers knew the show was pretty much done but hoped an ending like this would've given the CW an incentive to give the show a 13 episode order or something. They purposely did it hoping for another chance. Obviously it wasn't gonna happen but hating on the show for that is stupid. I loved the original and the new show could've never held a candle to the original but I enjoyed this show and actually miss it.

Why they cancelled this show (or rather why it had such low ratings) is beyond me! We are over polluted with crime shows and reality crap over and over to the point where the concept itself becomes sheer boredom! Don't get me wrong, i love me some cop drama and famewhoring but seriously, they are on our tv screens every bloody night! MP was such an edgy sharp and bitchy breath of glamorous shiny fresh air that gradually as the season went on became so killingly addictive! I really miss it :(
