i have a problem with the pricing of Mackie HR824mk2.. asked the authorised dealer i found from mackie website and they offer SGD2400 a pair.. im from singapore by the way.. days later, i found an audio shop offering SGD900 a pair for the same mackie HR824mk2.. whats up with the huge gap?! and i cant test them out for both retailers.. sheesh! any advice? hmm..
@izaatmusic not sure about that price gap, also not sure about the currency in Singapore. But in the US the MK2 model should go around $600 USD each, and around $1,200.00 a pair, brand new. If u wanna get used ones i'm sure u can find some under a thousand USD. Make sure to convert these prices to SGD.
Its a great mic, i would recommend it for any vocal setting, especially for its price. It used to be a rare jem to find such a well build tube mic for cheep, but now a days theirs plenty of em out there.
that a nice studio man i have one question how do you hook your firewire 410 to the computer? do you need any mixer i have me a m audio mobile pre usb and a 410 firewire that be nice if you can tell me how this stuff work!! thank you
well i pluged my firewire 410 directly in to the laptops 1394 4pin port.. and use the interfaces asio sound drivers, to run the whole studio. Now i have upgraded to the m-audio pro-fire 2626 same thing only bigger.
How are your monitors working? i'm thinking of buying them but i'm a complete noob when it comes to setting this kind of stuff up. was it complicated? etc.. Thanks! :)
I love my Hr824, i had the Event 8 monitors before and they just don't compare to the awesome low end the Mackies dish out. Bar none best monitor under a grand. The setup is extremely easy if u know how to plug in your dvd player or an xbox u can make this happen. All u need is the M-Audio Firewire 410. It looks complicated cause everything is a mess, lol.

I'm thinking of purchasing the MXL 4000 mic, would you suggest this mic for a "more-advanced" setting?
