  • minus-1= 19- left go,go usa!!!hahaha

  • @ded0511 20...

  • Its not a pitot tube there slick... they are called GLAs... and are quite a bit different the a normal, pitot tube.

So... obvioulsy you have no idea how the flight control system on a B2 operates- there my billion dollar AF answer.

  • Good riddance to bad rubbish.

    Plastic wasn't meant to fly.

  • I guess they

    don't like going

    Iran

with all these super Stingers around

  • IF the pitot tube(s) heater had been switched on by the calibration of the sensor(s) there would not have been a BAD CALIBRATION due to moisture AND bad data obtained from the sensor(s) by take off!

  • -if a B-2 is parced outside in the sun on an afb the aircraft skin heats to over 40 degrees Celsius.

-if a B-2 flies at his ceiling height the

aircraft skin cools because outsidetemperature is -55 degrees Celsius.

WHY WAS THE HEATER OF THE PITOTTUBE(S) NOT TURNED ON DURING CALIBRATION ?

that's my basic billion USA $ question to the USAF. :))

  • If USAF can't even run a $200 videocam, how the heck can they fly a plane without crashing? Or defend USA on 9/11? Or defend US borders from Mexican invasion. Oh, that's right, they don't. Funny how anyone can buy a plastic jet aircraft to fly themselves for $500,000 (Lancair), but it costs US taxslaves $1-billion each.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that's hard to watch :((((

  • lets be glad it wasent carrying nukes lol

  • they wouldn't go off even if he was. The military aren't complete idiots.

  • ant1g3n you are correct. The nukes would survive the crash.

  • Yes, and what happened there....if there is an insurgent in a village we can take out the whole village...and we might also kill the insurgent. These new wars are wars of emotions and winning them hearts of the people...George is a significant loser in those wars....

  • thats what happend when a jew drive this

  • BikerYamahaR1. At least they live in the 21st century, unlike their backward neighbours.

  • LOL!

  • Give me a BUFF anyday..screw this "Cold War" designed, expensive, and not really needed equipment...same with the damn F-22

  • The F-22 is one of the planes in the world it flies & looks great

  • there are some radar systems that can see them...and they are one of the cheapest:D

but lets leave it there... :D

    i don't want to look more stupid:D

  • yeah those planes are useless now esp with modern radar plus the plane is an easy target now.even Iran can shoot it down easily.

  • What do you mean they are useless "now", the Serbs shot down a f117 back in 1999.

  • djsal510. If stealth aircraft are useless like you say, why are the US, some European nations, Russia, Japan, India and China all developing stealthy manned and unmanned combat aircraft. Why would they spend so much time and money developing something that's 'useless'?

If they knew what you do, perhaps they would spend their money more wisely.

  • Publicity and bullshit. Europe doesn't develop stealth planes, because it has no need for them.

Stealth is only useful when USA want's to invade another arabic country where's lot of oil to "bring democracy". Their technology is decades behind others so stealth CAN be useful. But not for long. It is a technology that was born nearly dead. In the northern hemisphere it already is.

  • rohesilmnelohe. You say Europe doesn't develop stealth planes. What about the latest generation of UCAVs (BAE Systems Corax and Tiranis, EADS Neuron etc). All are designed to be stealthy and all are European.

Also, the Typhoon and Rafale have a reduced RCS. Although they're not true stealth aircraft, from some angles (mainly head-on) they have a very low RCS.

Like I asked before, why is everyone designing stealthy manned and unmanned planes if stealth is useless?

  • rohesilmnelohe. Perhaps you should tell companies like Lockheed, Northrop, EADS, BAE Systems what you know. I'm sure they'd like to hear from you if you know something they don't.

Out of interest, on what do you base your opinions? What makes you think stealth is so useless?

  • and yeah...i have to admit, i hadn't heard of these projects. but still there are few reasons why i don't see the need

  • djsal510. So how does 'modern radar' detect stealth aircraft and render their stealth capabilities useless? How does it make them 'easy targets'? You talk like you know a lot about the subject. Can you back up your claims with fact and reasoning?

  • djsal510. You should only make claims like that if you're able to back them up with facts. I very much doubt you can. What proof do you have?

  • calm down, as they always say, the proof is thats there is no proof. But the fact that the serbs maneged to shoot down a night hawk with with cold war technology is proof enough for me.

  • msvf2. If you consider the type of missions the F117 is used for, having only one aircraft shot down in 25 years of service is an enviable record. During Gulf War 1 it was the first plane to operate over Baghdad which, at the time, was some of the most heavily defended airspace on earth. Without the F117 those same missions would require numerous bombers, jammers and more tankers. The F117 only risks one pilot instead of dozens. One shot down is hardly proof that the whole concept is useless.

  • msvf2. Too many people write stealth off as useless without actually understanding how it works or how it is used. They seem to base their opinions on rumours and speculation rather than fact. Like I asked djsal510, if the whole concept of stealth technology is useless why are so many nations developing and building stealthy manned and unmanned aircraft and stealthy missiles?

  • Im naturaly spectical of any technology that claims to be so successful, look at patriot of example.

  • msvf2. No stealth aircraft will ever be invincible but being very hard to track is a tremendous advantage.

I'm not too sure about the overall success of Patriot SAMs, but they are good at shooting down RAF Tornados.

  • Stealth technology keeps US a step ahead of the sophisticated radar technology used by the Iraqi and Afghan insurgents...what? you thought those minars and minarets were for prayer calling purposes....Dick Chenney told US the truth about that one.....

  • Pkr. 'sophisticated radar technology'? Where?

Iraq's sophisticated air defense network was destroyed, first in Gulf War 1 and then in GW2. Afghanistan has no air defense network either. Non-stealthy aircraft can operate over both countries - they do everyday. How many planes have been shot down since the current wars started? The B2 was designed to fight the Soviets in a nuclear WW3, not insurgents with RPGs and AK47s.

  • tjp..My point exactly...if the US had weapons which could combat the RPGs and AK47s we might be doing better in such wars....AND, it might be a bit cheaper....but, THAT might put out of business the military industrial complex Dwight Eisenhower told US about years ago....TJP you got to get smart about what's happening out there...

  • Pkr. I need to get smart? After 10 years of working for a defense contractor, building and maintaining some of the equipment currently in use (Typhoon, Harrier, VC10 tanker), I feel I've got a reasonable idea of 'what's happening out there'.

The most effective weapons the US and it's allies have in this kind of war are troops on the ground with close air support. Strategic bombers (B2) aren't much use when the enemy is mixed in with the local population.

  • TJP....you're getting smarter. Much of our "force" is aimed at dealing with Russia or China in major wars. That's where the big bucks are for defense contractors. Our troops are ill-prepared for small conflicts....you can dent a hummer with a rock...we knew that going in....our troops carry 60-80 lbs. of gear, insurgent wear a robe and do blend in...some new technologies such as listening/sensing devices which can pin point a fired mortar/rpg aiming return fire is hardly being used.

  • He - it's not so bad

Only 3000 soldiers plus some expenses for 200 Trillion of Oil.

    Good deal.

  • Actually, with the use of GPS guidance B-52's and other bombers are being used for close air support. In fact, the B-52 was used for CAS as far back as Vietnam.

  • Hi Tulip 353 You really are in the know Have Any opinion about: google : sunburn +syria which can pierce an aircraft carrier from beforetobehind And they seem to have more of this stuff. Also in the Stinger & scrambling sphere : Would it be possible the US will lose all of its b2s next august ? Not to speakabout the old ones, the52's.
  • apostro. Maybe it's true what they say about drugs in the Netherlands!

  • Just wine, but my questions are serious - the sunburn & successors were developed by the USA and halfway they stopped funding and gav he project to RU. The kinetic energy is so big that you can just put a stone in it which pierce everything at Mach 2/3 Stinger like devices likewise development. The Sukhoi seems 10 times better than the strike fighter. - Wouldn't an attack next week (read my lips) be the most stupid thing to do.
  • Can you say salalalala. You must be a Terrorist.
