Bird has a tremendous season, but i think Jordan deserved it in '88. 3000 points, 200 steals and 100 blocked shots, he did it on offense and defense. The bulls would of been awful without him in '88. Jordan was also the defensive player of the year (A award he should of gotten in '87 as well, a true robbery). Jordan was simply the best player in the league in 1988.
Articulate,smart,modest and driven .... Even if he is thinking otherwise, he answers in measured tones and does it so without coming across arrogant ..... Miss these NBA legends ....respect !
Bird was the real MVP that year. David Stern rigged it.
