  • Currently am in Texas but return to WV to teach Mine Safety to new underground miners every quarter. Wouldnt trade it for any other job in the world. My Daddy mined for 50 years, My Son runs a roof bolter so the tradition continues. I worked underground before getting into Safety full time. I will always have coal in my blood! I do ALL I CAN HOME EVERYNIGHT TO THOSE THEY LOVE!

  • Got family in Eastern Ky still mining coal. Them boyz work hard. I'm working 7 days a week in the D. Them boyz are my Hero's and always will be. Work safe my BUDDYS.

  • I love this song, I was born in Logan and my parents moved to Beckley when i was 4. I love and respect the unique and brave type of man it takes to get the job done. I live in Alabama now and i still think of WV as home. I visited the Eccles mine site about 15 years ago where 180 men died . The monument to them was grown up and unattended, no benches or flowers just like no one cares. I am sure the direct descendents of these men have passed but the town should clean it up . God love the miners.

  • I am blessed to live in the AMAZING state of West Virginia. I would not be happy anywhere but here. We are all about loving the ones who love us, keeping the land right, and fighting for whats right. My father and brother are coal miners. I have many men in my community who are just like family, who are coal miners. Coal mining is what keeps this small town USA going. Mason County, WV is home. Theres no state nor people as WV. God bless all coal miners, we love you<3(:

  • I work in a hole in WV every day. UBB was a catastrophe we will never forget. Coal pays the bills, but rockdust saves the lives. The only people that knows what happened in there that day are the ones that were in there. I hope we can prevent this from happening again. oh yeah, BTW MSHA District 4: Unless you want a bunch of coal miners dying from silicosis, you need to let us run our SCRUBBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • coal miners are the reason those protesters stay warm.and they got the the nerve to protest.stupid basterds

  • im cousin adam morgan was in the ubb coal mine disaster, i drove from wyoming county wv just to see if u was ok

  • As the church bells rang 29 times- we knew it was the final end of the line. Now 29 miners are at Heavens gate, with dirty faces asking "Are we too late?" God said with a halfway grin " No my sons, come on in." They placed their mining lights on Heavens floor, God said "Job well done..leave your boots at the door. (In memory of the fallen UBB miners)

  • My uncle Greg was in the UBB coal mine disaster. I mourn every day for the loss of my uncle. I love and miss him so much.

  • I love this song, I cried thru the entire song, My Dad just passed away on Feburary 25th from lung problems due to Coal and Rock dust in his lungs.

  • @Madboxlive ,lets pack up all those protesters and send them all to JAPAN and let them help

clean up COAL'S ALTERNATIVE(Radiation). Then let them choice which is the best way to keep the lights on

here in the U.S.A.Lets stand for COAL its kept the lights on, all their lives ,their childrens and grandchildren's too.Kept food on many a table that wouldn't have had any if not for Coal.

  • I can't believe it has been a year. They will always be remembered. I remember watching on the news to see if they would be survivors, and then finding out that twenty-nine miners were dead. I remember seeing the crosses. How sad it was and is. They gave up their life to keep the lights on for W.VA and other states, and also to put food on their table. A lot of disasters has hit West Virginia and other states too. This mine disaster and I hear the gas station explosion. My aunt was in that. <3

  • RIP <3

  • May God Bless All The Families And Friends Of Those 29 Men May They Rest In Peace.

  • Absolutely brilliant. So much understanding in the song.

  • As a miner i can totally relate to this song. I am a mine rescue team member simply because men like these deserve to see their wives and children at the end of each shift. God bless all the miners, whatever company or seam. We are all brothers down there.

  • I was born and raised in Beautiful West Virginia, moved away with my parents. I will always have the utmost respect for all miners. They do a job that most would never do and they do it for their families so they can eat and have a roof over their heads. The rest of the country has electricity because of what they do. It's a dirty job but they do it every day. We need to pray and Thank them for what they do. God Bless all you miners and your families.

  • Did it for twentnine years, and have nothing but praise for the men and women still mining today. Takes a special breed. God please be with them all.

  • gone but never forgotten

  • Lets say a prayer for the families of our fallen miners, some of who I worked beside for years. And think of those of us who know any day could be ours.

They were good men and I give blessing to all who were afflicted by this tragedy.

  • i am not a minor but love this song God bless the men of UBB and there familys

  • God bless the coal miners...you are the pilot light of America. I think of all of you every time I turn on a light, watch tv, wash my dishes and clothes. You keep my streets lit and my security system armed. You garantee all our safety and prosperity while jeopardizing your own. God Bless you coal miners.

  • well i was supose to go to work there that day but i had car problems and then i hear about it on the news at the bar i couldent beleive what i had heared but my heart goes out to the 29 fallen miners familys

  • My uncle worked the mines for 23 years prior to getting hurt. God bless all miners.

  • @Madboxlive I am so glad your Uncle didn't go that day.... and I agree.. those protesters have NO IDEA what they are protesting against... they use electricity they enjoy computers no doubt that are POWERED by the very same electricity our coal miners provide. There will ALWAYS be someone out there who wants to tear down.. but we don't have to be that way.. We are from West Virginia, we are Strong, God Fearing Hard Working People. We will stand PROUD, we always have and always will. God Bless!

  • @wvserena My roots are from w,va. I was born in cleveland ohio. I have familt in Chapmanvill and beckley Alot of family works in those mines. I love the coal miner...

  • I grew up on the High Plains of Oklahoma and Texas where there are no mines. . . or mountains or trees, but my mother is from Eastern Kentucky. My granddad went into the mines before he was 18 and came out for the last time over 40 years later. He spent the last 15 years of his life on oxygen before dying a terrible death from Black Lung.

  • @bronco602 Hate to hear that, My father has black lung as well. He worked all his live in those coal mines and provided for his family he worked harder than any many I have ever come across in my whole life... Coal IS an important industry. It is a hard job, that has to be done. These men choose to work this job.

  • my uncle works at this mine, Thank God he was not working that day. Very nice video, are these pictures of the miners that died?

  • @beyoncefan2382 No they wouldn't release all the names until the men were out of the mines or I would have put them on. Once I get all the names I am going to post them under the video heading.. Some of the guys in the video like my friends husband Carl Wall worked at the mine, actually Carl was on the rescue/recover team as well. My daddy, my uncle James, my grandpa are also in this video as well as a lot of other local hard working coal miners.... when one miner hurts we all feel the pain.

  • This is the best some in the world to describe a w.v. miner I love the song it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Please pray for our fallen miners and there familys during these hard times

  • Great song. Great Video. Thanks for putting this together. I hated hearing about this disaster. I lived & Worked in Raleigh County, WV before I moved to Texas a couple years ago. My heart hurts for them all. God bless the Coal Miners and their families.

  • I cannot even begin to explain how it feels to know that 29 of my husbands co-workers were killed. He was lucky and blessed to have been working outside that day. He NEVER works outside. I still cannot believe how he has been spared. I thank God for having His hand on my husband and the other men who were spared. I will continue to pray for the families of the deceased miners.

  • @mistylomas I am so glad your husband was spared. We can never question the Lord. Your husband still has something left to do here on this earth... I am praying for those families that are left behind to carry on.

  • It is Friday night 1:07 am.. just a few short days ago we found out about our miner's, in the U.B.B. Mine disaster in Raleigh County. Today we have confirmation that our 29 miners have gone on to another place... It is with a heavy heart and a tear stained face, we report this sad news... But like the song say's the sun WILL shine.. these miners come from good stock and they have left their mark in West Virginia. We will make them proud.

  • May God Bless keep and protect their families tonight and always in Jesus name we pray. Amen

  • This is very very touching...As a miner's wife I can tell you this song says it all...Thank you so much.
