I think the Allies should have gone over to the defencive once they reached the Gustav line and concentrated on an attack on France. The air bases at Brindisi had been captured + I think that that should have been the main strategic objective.

no mention of the worst Allied port destruction in Bari? thousands of Allied personnel killed by their own mustard gas. more casualities than Pearl Harbor, few people know about.

@lv42daze. There were thousands of casualties but not deaths. However, the sinking of the John Harvey and its huge supply of mustard gas was kept secret.
