I can't wait to see him again! I have countless emails saved from him on birthdays, Christmas...just chatting. He was such a great person, and his family is still amazing. I miss him like crazy. Thanks for posting this.
I can't listen to this song with crying. I will always miss Roger. His Faith in the Lord Jesus even in the darkest times was totally amazing. I can't to meet him in heaven.
Wow He was a great singer it almost makes me cry to hear him sing this song, he is now home free he's been healed and cured of his cancer forever more
Life is like a vapour, quickly life fades as the pedels of a rose. Roger Bennett lived a fruitful gospel music packed life that continues to bless even after his soul was transended into the presence of his blessed Redeemer ....that he faithfully served! The ivory keys may be silenced
here in this mortal realm...they are not up in the Heavenly portal...Roger is still at the piano lit by the bright light of his Master and King...Jesus Christ !
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend several Legacy 5 concerts (Thanks Don!). Roger was Legacy's life and soul. He was the proverbial hub of the wheel. Without him, there literally wouldn't have been a Legacy 5. His passion for the Lord was amazing. He was the best of the best. If you listen very carefully, you can hear him tickling the ivories in Heaven at this very moment.
Oh wow...I didn't know Mr. Bennett had died...I knew he was ill, but after awhile, no one ever spoke of it, so I assumed he was all better...but thank you for making this tribute. I know a lot of people will miss him, and 'Home Free' is the perfect 'farewell for now' song.
Roger died a week after his birthday in 2007. March 17.
Hard to deal with losing musical heroes. IT happneed to me when Jeff Porcaro passed at age 38 from a heart attack. Roger's passing was the same---a time of sadness for me.
God is merciful though-and that's the biggest shot in the arm regarding both those guys' leavin'.
Loved you Roger. You can now play & sing in Heaven. R.I.P. We miss and love you.

I still aspire to play piano and live my life like Roger Bennett. I often wish I could hear him in concert again or shake his hand again.

Same here, I thought he was doing better. Well, we know he is in heaven now. But I'm sure it's hard for his family and friends who miss him.
