  • I feel that all is related atomically, the only thing that seperates we humans from say a, tree, is conciousness. We and that tree are made of the same carbon atoms that evolved chemically from the beginning of the universe and the original hydrogen atoms. But who the hell knows? I could be, no, I am wrong. Incorrection is the correction. No one can be right all the fucking time, even about the big questions. Weber, I thank you. Corrction, concious mass of carbon, calcium, oxygen etc. I thank you

  • I had been thinking about this very stuff the past four days. so glad that im not the only one still thinking about it so much

  • hey Cody. I've been watching your videos since a few years ago, back when i knew nothing about anything. i remembered you today, so i chose a recent random video to see what's new in that head of yours and i see this - my words coming out of your mouth, an idea i concluded on my own completely correctly mirrored. amazing, and just backs it up. anyway happy birthday a bit late. heh seems this vid was updated on my birthday. ahh those universal coincidences :]

  • If everything changes, is there really a true meaning to existence? Environments, economies, people, feelings, thoughts, and beliefs change over time. People say we live on this earth to find out who we are, to discover our purpose in life. But if we change, does our purpose change? Is there even a purpose in this life? Everything's purpose is to die, therefore everything's purpose is to live. Therefore maybe we are just here....to be here.

  • I get what he's saying. Are we really gaining wisdom. Everything changes, so how can the things we know and have gathered from the past be considered wisdom, if there is no relevant use for the knowledge we have garnered in this life time. Is everything is as it seems, maybe you aren't what you seem to be(to yourself you are) but to everyone else, maybe your something completely different. If everything changes....are we really who we think we are?

  • You inspire me to do something. However i really have no idea what to do. Guess i'll smoke.

  • This is knowledge that we inherently know, but easily forget.

  • test hello.

  • edgy as fuck

  • I love you.

  • @ANTIanitmetalclub

    I love you too.<3

  • @parawhorez

    woah, hey darling ;)<3

  • @ANTIanitmetalclub

    x)))<3

  • I smell Spinoza.

  • I like your videos. I agree with much of what you say. I've subscribed to your videos because I think you're witty and hilarious. But you are seriously a major drag. And the fact that you are such a drag makes you part of the problem because your belief that we are incapable of change leads to apathy, which seems to be the very thing you hate. You are the very same as the Snooki loving couch potato that you hate, just with different colors.

  • You have a beautiful way with words! I love this video... you should write a book!

  • I dont want to be that self aware

  • Have ever tried some psychodelic drugs? You say many things ( like "Gaia theory" ) which are link to them. And I remember you mentioned DMT in other video.

  • I have to disagree with you Cody on the "yesterday might as well not have ever existed". Without the thoughts and experiences of yesterday you will never be the same person today. You have spoke on more than one occasion about your time with your father, and without those moments you would not be the person you have become for "today"

  • The movie was really good, too. I like how you took the dancing photos from it.

  • If your watching this still high from 4 20 thumbs up.

  • By the way, I'm not saying Cody is stupid. He is far smarter than a lot of people I know, and probably far smarter than me, and I agree with him on a lot. But in this, I think he is wrong. I take Howard Bloom's stance on seperateness... the universe thrives on it, on being distinct from others. But when empathy and intelligence enters the picture, the time comes to rise above our conscious, unconscious, and involuntary impulses to go apart, and we come together. Thus tribes, cities, nations.

  • Differentiation - the most important key in this universe. We all came from the same source, but we are seperate, and thinking that we are all truly the same, that nuance isn't important is what leads to stupidity. Conformity for conformity's sake renders us unable to think. The global brain is run by those who obtain power. What you're looking for, Cody, is not placing self above all others. And you expressed that through thinking we are all the same. We are all equal. But we are distinct.

  • The universe is truly amazing.

  • As I say: We are all stardust

  • @asofaihp That's where my username originated from ^_^ well, the entire quote from Lawrence Krauss that is.

  • beautifully said. i think about this literally every single day. i enjoy your video's very much. thank you.

  • We build weapons to kill people because if we don't build them. Those people will kill us. We didn't wake up one morning and say build a bomb to kill everybody. We said IF we want to live we better build a bomb. You are giving humans too much credit. Trust is very breakable so we need to defend ourselves.

  • Fantastic. Truly. I love the idea of living for the moment

  • u need to drop acid bro

  • One of the few intellectuals on YouTube. It truly takes a sharp mind to perceive the universe as objectively as you do.

  • Cody. You speak whats inside my mind. :) I no longer feel like I'm alone...

  • You should really read into C.G. Jung's "pursuit" - if you want to call it that - of collective consciousness.

  • There are so many jump cuts, aren't you a film major or something?

  • ACIM?

  • This clip reminds me of "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.

Everything seem so meaningless when you put it in perspective. Me and my lifetime, what is it really when compared to the earth? And the earth and it's lifetime is neglectible in comparison to our galaxy. And our galaxy is just a grain floating in a seemingly endless universe. Yet we care so much for this "self".

  • the human race is fucked

  • you make me realize i need to get out of this paid slavery called the military and enjoy life.....

  • It feels like its been a long ass time since tj has put out a video on TJdoeslife, TheAmazingatheist, cody hasnt put out a videon saturninefilms, paulsego hasn't put out a video recently, i'm going through withdrawals

  • Cody, you basically just summed up Buddhism.

  • Excellent philosophy Cody. This is going in my favorites.

  • We are made of star stuff. We are a way for the Cosmos to know itself.

  • That kinds of people that will not understand this video are Optimists, Theists, Idealists and Conservatives.

You need to be a Pessimist, Atheist, Realist and Progressive to understand this perception of reality.

People who believe in God, Money, Ego and Values are too delusional to understand physical objective view of reality, which is discussed in this video.

  • It's amazing how much my views correspond with yours. Keep up the good work, man!

  • this is true but better the have a sense of accomplishment then no sens of anything and the time i think like you if on the most quiet and beautiful days of the year

  • Bye bye any possibility that Cody might make another Q & A vid.

  • That was nice. That's really all I can say.

  • too deep.

  • Excellent

  • Excellent

  • He want's to believe in this garbage... but the truth is much bigger than he can imagine. We have been assembled as a line of life by a higher intellectual existence. We are failing in the eyes of that existence, probably.

  • @Xylogeist Bullshit. Great video, Cody!

  • That was awesome, Codex.

  • This is some New Age bullshit conceived with the aid of narcotics. Yet, still it yields an impressively thought provoking message which is often muddled down by our everyday arbitrary lives.

  • @udooling and this is a comment with a redundant amount of big words to make the poster feel like a genius =]

  • @douche1234ful Don't hate because I have a more extensive vocabulary than you.

  • @udooling It's bullshit but yields an impressively thought provoking message? I found the contradiction I had been missing, thanks dawg.

  • @O0rspker0O Well it's not really a blatant contradiction because one could be interested in bullshit. Haha It is conceivable and does not yield a deductive logical contradiction. Also, I did not write this comment for its philosophical implications, rather I left this comment to give my review on the video. I believe this sums it up.

  • @udooling It's not blatant, but it is there. Paraphrasing your statement, you basically said that it was untrue but could possibly be true=contradiction. I am missing where the video was not about philosophical implications, and how you could be commenting about it and not the philosophical implications.

  • @O0rspker0O No my fucking comment was not to allude to any philosophical implications. Whether or not the video did is entirely independent of your trolling. I thought we were discussing my "apparent" contradiction. Well I never made the claim that it was true. I made the claim that it was bullshit but still held some form of thought provoking. Now I did not provide a definition for the term "bullshit" which is ambiguous. Stop trolling and take a fucking logic course. I can do this all day

  • @udooling "Also, I did not write this comment for its philosophical implications, rather I left this comment to give my review on the video."

"No my fucking comment was not to allude any philosophical implications."

Fuck you just can't stop refuting yourself. Please, continue.

Also, please broaden my narrow interpretations of the word bullshit.

  • @O0rspker0O The first sentence and the second sentence are in perfect congruence. I did not write my comment to imply any philosophical implications. That makes sense because both make that claim. There is no contradiction. Do you not see that?

  • @udooling The video is about philosophy, you commented about the video. The statement you made was about philosophy. The contradiction stems from you saying that it was bullshit, but still held a message that need be thought about.

  • @O0rspker0O I gave a review about the video which did have philosophical implications; however, my comment (which is what I thought we were discussing) has no philosophical assertions. I don't know how more clear one can frame this. Yes the bible is bullshit but it still is thought provoking. Leibniz concept of substance is bullshit but that doesn't make it un-thought provoking.

  • @O0rspker0O Why do I find so many trolls on youtube who do not know simple principles of logic? Why do I find so many fucking people on here who think it is their fucking job to point out a mild inconsistency in any comment posted?

  • @udooling Now you're assuming that I have no sense of logic because I found a flaw in your statement. I pointed out your inconsistency because others did not.

  • @O0rspker0O There is no inconsistency in my sentences. Your trolling and you fucking know it. I would rightfully admit to a flaw of logic if there was one to be found. Also I don't have to clarity my usage of the term "bullshit", because even if I did refer to untrue, a statement can still be thought provoking yet untrue. For example, Homer's Iliad. You are getting no where, don't you see that? Just quit being a troll.

  • @udooling You can't use contractions, one of the most logical subjects of the English language. You're is a contraction of the words you are, and your shows possession. Example of you using them incorrectly below.

"Your trolling and you fucking know it."

    *You're.

Yet you constantly insult my perception of logic.

"Also I don't have to clarity my usage..." You're right, you don't have to clarity, whatever the fuck that means.

"...because even if i did refer to untrue..." Refer to untrue?

  • @O0rspker0O I'll admit to those grammatical errors. However, there is no contradiction in my original post. Logic is a branch of philosophy which pertains to the evaluation of arguments. Do you want me to prove my literacy of Sentential Logic or Predicate Logic? I can if you want, I just don't know how I will be able to show my scope lines in my derivations. Do you know what a scope line is? Do you know what a SL derivation is? About the rules of De Morgans? Hahaha Fuck off.

  • @udooling Congratulations, you took a class and know more about logic than I do; however, it does not mean you are more logical than I am. I am ignorant in the field of "Sentential Logic" and "Predicate Logic".

I do not know what a scope line is. I do not know what a scope line derivation is. I do not know about the rules of De Morgans.

Just because you are further educated in those areas than I am does not mean that you are right.

  • @O0rspker0O Not a class, multiple classes. Haha No you were right I made grammatical errors, which are now quite embarrassing, but I was right about the first "challenge to my intelligence" as you so eloquently put it. There was no contradiction, no self-refutation, no inconsistency, and it was a valid argument. Now you can challenge the soundness of the claim by using inductive logic. I hope you know your probability theories! I believe this is the correct usage of the saying, You got schooled.

  • @udooling I have pointed out the contradictions, and I am not going to keep spamming this video with myself pointing out your faults. If you feel you have humiliated me, so be it, you're an imbecile incapable of realizing impurities in your statements, and it is pointless to continue bickering with you. It seems your classes have taught you naught.

  • @O0rspker0O What contradiction? What fucking contradiction did you point out? You pointed out grammatical imperfections but no logical contradictions. Fuck you, think next time you think to troll someone because they just might know what they are talking about. I hope you learned to not troll.

  • @udooling This is just my view on this whole thing. Your logic may not be comparable to O0rspker0O, but does it mean he/she is incorrect? No, it doesn't. Does it mean he/she is correct either? No, niether. Not only that, if you're that logical and "smart" enough to prove your logical points, you shouldn't have to use words like "fucking", "fuck", "faggot" etc. All that shows is that you have felt like you have been attacked by this person, so you must use vile words to cover your own flaws up.

  • @CaptSanderson He claimed I committed a logical contradiction. His argument can be answered objectively, for his claim could be correct or incorrect. If I committed a logical contradiction then he would have pointed it out, he failed to show any logical contradiction, therefore it is not the case that I committed a logical contradiction. His claim is that I committed a logical contradiction, I have not, so his claim is false. Also, "vile words" do not determine the truth value of a claim.

  • @CaptSanderson Also, what are these "vile words"? Vile seems to be a very subjective term, what I may believe to be vile may be completely different to what you believe to be vile.

  • @udooling Obviously we all have different beliefs in what certain things are. As of in this case, "vile words" include the "unpleasent" (I guess that is a correct term?) words that are rather to say unneeded. (Such as simply cussing.) I personally do not have a problem with cussing. I do it all the time. It just bugs the living hell out of me that people must call people words like "faggot" even knowing they allready have proven their point. I'm more of the "Say your logic, and be done with it'.

  • @udooling Furthermore, I have really no problem with you useing "bad" words (as society redeems this to be.) I just didn't see the need for you telling him to go "fuck off" and the such. Considering quite honestly you already pwned his ass by making your statements, but if you wish to do so, we all have our own idea of how things should be done. We should all respect that, nomatter how much we don't agree, or like it, but that's just me.

  • @CaptSanderson I'm glad you came to your senses. I just hate this new breed of hippster trolls. Everywhere I go I encounter this liberal, political correct, argument prone, dumb atheist, wannabe philosophers. I like how people are valuing education and secularism but some people are doing it for the wrong reasons. If this kid really wanted to showcase his worth, he should go to college and argue, rather than troll comments made on youtube.

  • @O0rspker0O I love just humiliating dipshits like you. I can do this shit all day. Haha read a book faggot.

  • By the way, nice video, I subscribed.

  • @udooling OH FUCK OH FUCK, SOMEONE IS CHALLENGING MY INTELLIGENCE, MUST BE A TROLL. Stop rambling incoherently and admit you were wrong.

  • @O0rspker0O You can challenge my intelligence but stop once you have obtained a clarifying answer. I will admit to any fault if there was one to be had. Now fuck off and go troll some youtube Christians.

  • @udooling Christians are too easy.

  • @udooling not really...its true what he said. and if you dont believed you are still masked by your own delusions in the way you perceive the world today. everyday we live is a lie. this wasnt the way the world was meant to be. we've created a fictious place to live in cotton-balled by the stuff we want to see...and not the stuff we have to see. one day its going to hit us back ten-fold and we will all be sorry the day we were born

  • @TexasHoldMe87 I don't know what you are talking about. Give me more context

  • @udooling dont worry. since you think you know everything by previous conversations ive seen with you on here, theres no point in explaining. you stay in your fictious world where you think the things that are happening around you are real. listen to your government each and every day as they rape you of your rights consistently, and ill listen to my laws. the 10 of them. created by none other than the most powerful being in existance.

  • @TexasHoldMe87 I wish I knew everything. If I did I wouldn't be here. I don't know where you are making these assumptions but fuck off with your false beliefs.

  • @TexasHoldMe87 You're an idiot. Truly.

First of all, you come to this video and accuse Cody of being on acid because of his intelligent perspective on life and humanity. Well golly gee fuck, aren't you the coolest kid in the playground.

Secondly, stop believing in your fairy tale man in the sky, you horribly educated southern hick.

  • @SynthesisEnigma hey listen cunt. i said he needs to drop acid to see what its like and enhance his views already. and im not a hick your a hick coz u fuck your mother sick man

  • @udooling This isn't New Age bullshit. Romantics used to write poetry about this, about embracing the unknown and the beauty in life, and how one was the same with nature. Shit's intense.

  • I hear this every time some pothead gets into the mood to play deep XD

  • @ancasgraciosas and by that I don't mean that I disagree with what he's saying. <3

  • Cody, If we are all the same then why do we have subjective perception to reality. Think about this Cody, imagine there is creature in front you. the creature is a dog to you and plus, you think of urself as human. you pretty much know what human is and what a dog is. Do you think that dog thinks of himself as dog as we do or looks at you think as human as we do. think it for second

  • Beautiful! :)

  • this video just sounds like a whole bunch of bullshit, I understand what you are saying, but meh, make more q&a's!

  • Who knows how far we can soar when the majority is able to rise above inconsequential bickering and trying to be special and just accept we are all different and the same. I guess for me I would like to inspire at least a little of the realization you have.

  • Same shit, different day. That's what came to mind after watching this.

  • I think it's time to dial back the mescaline Cody.

  • Do you ever read philosophy cody? If so what? I want to read it too.

  • When a person murders another person.

That person basically murdered himself in a different body.

  • @GunShard Yes and chances are they murdered the other person because there was a disagreement or there was something they didn't like so in turn they destroyed the parts of themselves that they hate.

  • @GunShard ....wha....?

  • this is, without doubt, the best video i have ever seen on youtube.

    period.

  • Tripped me out, feels like I've watched this before. Don't think so. Probably read it on Tumblr.

  • Fuck. I usually really like these videos because they're flippant and stand in broad-chested defiance to both power structures and "vlog" techniques alike, but this was pure self-indulgence. The wording is nice and flowery, but anyone with any real insight into themselves and the world around them knows this already.

I have faith, though, that you'll do better in the next one. Can't wait.

  • This reminds me of I heart huckabees

  • I enjoy music with my eyes.

  • I fucking love you dude.

  • i have been watching you for years and have recently come to believe the exact same thing, and when i watched this video it just blew my mind how my views have changed in such a similar way to yours

  • wow... you just... blew my mind...

  • @bonedancereff you win with this comment. Plus thumb!

  • @bonedancereff Before you answer that question, keep in mind that in order for you to accurately call me an "idiot" you would have to find a way to objectively prove that my intelligence is beneath yours to such a great extent that I am deserving of such an adjective. Also, you would have to somehow demonstrate that you have the credentials to pass not only that judgment on me but to qualify Cody as a "pseudo-intellectual". If you're not capable of this, you're just another jackass talking shit

  • @bonedancereff I would like to know: What qualifies you to pass that judgment?

  • So, no new long video? You made a vid saying that you would make one more then deleted it!

  • My dad met Don MacLean when he was in high school. Apparently he's a total blowhard that thought his music was in the same league as Beethoven.

  • sir, you hit the bong one too many times.

  • I choose to delude myself. I would much rather solidify my sense of individualism than view myself as a virtually infinitesimal piece of biomass. After all, there was only one Johann Sebastian Bach and one Albert Einstein, and no "global brain" world view can take away from the significance of their contributions to our world.

  • pseudointellectual hipster trash.

  • @bonedancereff Do you only consider someone an intellectual if they have a scientific or licensed background in researching a specific field or study? Why can't someone with an inquisitive mind with a great capacity for not only acquiring but creating knowledge be considered an intellectual?

  • Omg ! you are so my brain. lol.

  • 1. Objective view: Present exists. Past and Future does not exist. Subjective view: Past, Present and Future exists. 2. Objective view: Nature and the Universe is unconscious. Subjective view: God and the Universe is conscious. 3. Objective view: Man created God in his own image. Subjective view: God created Man in his own image. 4. Objective view: Imagination does not exist. Subjective view: Imagination exists. Imagination: God, Afterlife, Soul, Right, Wrong, Pain, Pleasure, Love and Hate.
  • im so glad u posted this on my birthday . finally turned 18. probably never happened .

  • Good stuff Cody.

  • You are my favourite Youtuber.

  • I whole-heartedly appreciate all the coherence you include in your philosophies, Cody. Some other false icons and imaginary prophets on YouTube attempt similar grasps at meaningful philosophy, but it all comes trailing out like white noise. There's little organic flow or accurate detail included in their theories. Your verbal flow, however, is superb...AND scary AND beautiful

  • I think you are smart, and have a passion about what you believe. But I also greatly disagree. I think you are over examining things. Yes we all came from the same "Big Bang" but that doesn't mean we end up the same. Also saying yesterday is an illusion is simply a matter of opinion. One i believe is not valid. I would have to say EVERYTHING is meaningful. Everything is different, your collective is an illusion. It is that difference, that separation, that means unity is all the more important.

  • your hair is black.

    why is your hair black?

  • I agree 100% on everything, and I think there should be an option of giving it two thumbs up.

  • felt like this when i took shrooms for a few hours that all that went on in my brain. it stuck with me.

  • Man i like you, i totally agree with you, except for the part about the universe. You sayed that we are all one, we are coming from 1 contiouosness (english is not my native :D) ,the zero point in the begining (the big bang),but friend, don't be so sure, that the universe is cold and passive. First of all, we must accept as a theory, that there were other big bangs and the whole fcking thing is just one BIG ORGANISM,and a "machine" big as that is sure to have contuisness or that is self-aware.

  • Back and forth.

  • Why the fuck would you dislike this?

  • i like you

  • holy shit it's as if you've read my mind.

  • Your Intelligence is attractive.

  • @stephashen Oh really?

  • mark twain

  • you have beautiful mind my friend

intricacy and complexity without need for purpose or expectation

  • Stephen King glasses! It's better to hear this in your voice which is much more coherent. I agree with your view on "self". I never really think about image or titles (people are more than happy to label you whatever they deem fits a stereotype associated with you behavior and interests). Worrying about it is ultimately useless. Enjoy all you can, be grateful for what you have and yadda yadda what you said.

  • YOU are beautiful and scary at the same time, Cody.

    You sexy beast, you.

  • 1:15

Read Howard Bloom's book 'Global Brain.' Vindicates this very idea.

  • good job, cody.

  • cool ideas but it would be nice to hear you support them. let us know how you arrived at these conclusions.

  • Any way I can get this transcribed?

  • Human Instrumentality Project, anyone?

  • no shit...

  • Does anyone else ever feel that existence was just an accident? That's the way I've always felt.

  • @ILikeToDissectGirls

existence is meaningless, now make your own meaning give a reason to your existence, be free, exist.

  • @TheMountainlotus That's exactly how I feel.

  • See, I agree with you completely. And that's my problem. I think about this all the time, and its the reason I barely ever pay attention.

  • Is it just me, or did Code Reds hair grow really fast?

  • cogito ergo sum

  • I've thought this for quite a while...I go so far as to say those who call themselves "human" are the ones who just don't get it...I have nearly removed myself from humanity...lets become one.

  • thats not what "begs the question" means, dumbass

  • this video makes me want to die now bc im noitng

  • This was an awesome video. But I still think you are a crappy singer. xD

  • Well said.

  • Well, that's about true i guess. Particles moving all over the place. It's cool and weird. But i have to say... i don't like your singing.

  • That's pretty deep there bro. And I heard that said in the past that there only this moment. the now.

  • Cody, I truly enjoyed this video. It was like you took everything I wanted to express about perception and the idea of self, but couldn't. I even logged into my account (after about weeks of neglecting it) just so that I could tell you this. You are a very creative and insightful person, and I can't wait to see more videos. Also, my friend and I came up with a theoretical but workable plan for a cooperative and happier society that I think you'd might be interested in hearing about.

  • Could not possibly agree more.

  • This video should be titled "The Atheist Experience."

Because every true atheist (one who actually understands what they think, and doesn't just say "i don't want to believe in god", basically the scientific/philosophic atheist), reaches a point in their lives where they understand that nothing matters. it's all just short-lived bullshit that existed, and then ceased to exist. There is nothing more, nothing less, and no rhyme or reason to any of it.

Just makes you want to end it all doesnt it?

  • Ugh, mindfucked. Thank you Cody for more enlightenment. =)

  • Questions???

  • Just adding something here, Cody, nothing is destroyed. Conservation of mass etc.

  • You ruined my favorite song cody, what the fuck?
