  • YES, 'pt1gard' and 'cpswarrior': "General" David Sarnoff was more of a businessman than an inventor {that is, he loved to find new ways to invent money, on behalf of and for RCA}. He also had the best highest-paid lawyers in the private sector, and that's why true innovators like Farnsworth, Tesla AND Marconi were "screwed" by him.

  • Radio Corporation of America had a major exhibit at the 1939 World's Fair- and David Sarnoff, the head of RCA, decided the Fair's opening on April 30, 1939 would be the "official" introduction of his company's TV sets, and regular broadcasts in the New York area {four hours a day, three or four days every week} on experimental station "W2XBS", which became "commercial" station WNBT in 1941, WRCA-TV in 1954, and WNBC-TV in 1960. Sarnoff always insisted RCA "invented" television first...

  • @fromthesidelines.... sarnoff ripped off philo and tesla

  • Whether or not it benefited mankind is debatable. It certainly helped make the last few generations more stupid and lazy

  • one word for this guy!!!

    TESLA!!!

  • He is a TOTAL LIAR! Stole it all from Farnsworth!!! Thank TESLA for it all anyway!

  • Hdtv beat the shit out that

  • Obviously, a subsequent version of a particular technology is an improvement over the original. However, the point of this the _advent_ of television technology.

  • And wait 20 years and HDTV will be shit the same way.

  • very interesting the vintage film
