  • The patient was under conscious sedation. in ideal setting , open reduction is best done under the strict sterile condition of the operating room, unfortunately in most countries in Africa , with patient backlog of about 3 months in the operating theater , we can't always get what we want and have to work with what we have, especially with procedures that depend on swift intervention like fractures . All the instruments and drapes were autoclaved

  • 1.The patient is under conscious sedation or general anesthesia? 2. Open reduction of mandibular fracture do not have to be performed in an operating room? 3. That is performed in a dental chair with a piece of high speed, surgical drapes, surgical clothing and gloves not sterile!
