Hi watching from the Netherlands here, kind of in shock since we have the single payer health care system and I find it quite natural to have insurance, but only to find out that many Americans don't even have insurance...

So we thought it was a great thing the bill got passed only to find out that many Americans oppose this....

Why do so many want to take risks with their lives...is it because it's socialistic? Or are you just afraid you'll get ripped of by the insurance companies?

I am looking at this as a European. I was very shocked to learn that millions and millions of people in the USA don't have health care. Here in the Netherlands we have single payer healthcare. The children are usually insured under of the parents name. To give you an idea what I pay for a basic coverage is around 110-120 euro's a month, which is basically not all that much for in my eyes decent healthcare. But that's just my point of view on it. So I am kind of perplexed at all the people who

Health is essential to life, and therefore protecting health is essential to protecting life. In many European countries, a general health care system is in order, and people are comparably healthy, health care costs less than in the US, and the system is hardly abused.

All I know is that the principle behind a nationalized health care is a farce. I wholeheartedly agree with Ron Paul in that when people didn't have ANY insurance, the medical costs had to stay low, and capitalism DID provide BETTER than any socialized medicine, and yes that's including Europe, and Canada.

ive had a motorcycle license since i was 15 and have always had to provide motorcycle insurance when registering my bike or what ever. so here in texas i think its still mandatory. but at the same time its a bad idea to not have insurance. even if its liability only the insurance is hella cheap i paid 160 for the entire year from progressive. not to bad i guess.

The other day I was driving, by the law by the book and got pulled over. I asked why and the cop said because you are driving illegal. He said he even had the choice to take me to jail, which i'm not sure is true..but i got $365 no insurance ticket
