  • I loved Indy 4. It rocked. Hope a 5 comes out!

  • Steven is so AWESOME!!!!

  • dcb01ene2000 wow you really must be a lonely person in the movie theater. but some of the general facts you said caught my attention. They really should try to make a movie more solid than that.. but either way INSTANT CLASSIC!

  • Dear christerjames: you call me "a lonely person" without knowing me at all. That is, for saying the least, a very risky comment, although generally it's just a sad mistake to qualify a person without knowing them. But anyway, this is not about me or you, but about the film. If you liked it, that's fine... But calling that film an instant classic and pretending that's the indisputable truth and nobody can question that... well, there you are totally wrong, and that's just a plain fact. Sorry.

  • George Lucas and Steven Spielberg Why didn't learnd something about Peru, before to make that movie. Nobody listen mexican music in Cuzco/Peru and The Lines of Nazca are not in Cuzco, They are in NAZCA-PERU.If someone wants to Know The Lines of Nazca, PLEASE DON'T GO TO CUZCO.

  • good point i was wondering how authentic it all just was.

  • Good question about improvisation. At last a decent question. Good reply from Spielberg. Well. poor Ray did go the entire press conf. without one question.

  • karen only got words in by interrupting, but it's all good. I'd just be happy to be there!!! I'll cry as I'm cashing that fat check...

  • the pacho villa comment in the film comes from the tv series....

  • About the action sequences: these movies are plenty of over-the-top action, and that's fine, but then you see a bunch of almost 60 years old people falling not one, but 3 times a huge waterfall, surviving without any scratch... then you can't go "awesome!", but "wait a minute, that's simply not possible". The other movies were great about that stuff, with nobody started questioning "this is possible, this is not", and that's why they were so entertaining. Anyway, it was nice to see Indy again.

  • Indiana Jones' movies never intended to be historically correct. They are just pure entertainment, and that's fine... but Pancho Villa teaching quechua? Nazca in the same geographical spot than Cuzco? A Maya pyramid and tons of rocks in the middle of the Amazon? Mexican music in Cuzco? Please, messing up with so many wrong things that actually do exist in the real world is just a gross mistake. Again, nobody expects this movie to be historically correct, but please not SO many mistakes! Come on!

  • dcb01ene2000,by the way Indiana never said that Pancho Villa spoke quechua, it was "some of his guys" and all the other stuff you mentioned can be just coincidence, like mayans can have traveled to the amazon, a lost tribe? mexican band in peru on tour or just backpacking, peruan band trying some new stuff, don't think about this stuff too much you just ruin the movie for yourself.

  • Christerjames, please don't try to defend the indefensible. It's just impossible for de Pancho Villa guys to speak quechua, beacuse in Mexico they have their own native language. The Mayas never reached the Amazon. Never. Mexican band on tour in Peru? In the 50-60's?! You can't be serious... If you are going to discuss with me about the gross mistakes on this movie, with all due respect you better inform yourself well first. If you like this movie, that's fine. But it DOES have mistakes.

  • And again, everything is possible in fantasy films, but even in the realm of fantasy you have to follow a certain logic. You can't say that Cuzco and Nazca are at the same geographical spot or Mexicans could speak quechua, because it' just untenable. If you don't know these facts beforehand maybe they wouldn't spoil you the movie, I admit that; but if you know them, could you really put them aside and believe what it's said in the film?

  • Sorry to write too much. I just remember in "Transformers" when the guy says something like "look at this cellphone, it's amazing what Japanese can create"; I saw that film in Helsinki, Finland, and you should have seen the faces of Finns at the theater: that line almost ruined them the film, because they are very proud of Nokia. Thank God the girl on the film says "Nokia is from Finland" and the whole croud goes "Yeah!!!". You see? There ARE limits for imaginary stories.

  • Great!! Indy 4 was beyond AWESOME the action , the humor the story!! all of it!! PURE GEM!!

  • was shia swinging around the jungle with monkeys one of the "great ideas" that came up while filming? definitely NOT a great idea.

  • Your just hoping on he bandwagon my friend..and taking it too seriously ..THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!

  • The trio of George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford can not, NOT, go wrong. Ever!

  • Dear christerjames: Saying that Nazca is in Cuzco is like to say Manhattan in withinin Boston City. Pancho Villa NEVER spoke quechua: he was the leader of Mexican revolution, and had NOTHING to do with Peru. Maya and Inca cultures are NOT the same. Oh, yes: Lucas, Spielberg and Ford CAN go wrong. They already did that. And of course, this is a fiction-action movie, and they can take historical facts and change them... but even in fiction there are limits. There ARE, whether we like them or not.

  • good post..

  • Spielberg gave a shout out to YouTube.

  • Im sry to say but it was horrible "ALIENS" come on, and what was the whole thing of the ark being opened, are they going to make raiders of the lost ark 2 or something?

  • You mean the box of the ark that shattered partly? Come on. You remeber the end of Raiders of The Lost Ark? Some guy drove the ark off into the warehouse. It's the same warehouse, it's a small easter egg/referral to it.

  • You're crazy. The movie wasn't bad at all. The alien was no more far fetched than the 500-yr. old knight at the end of "Last Crusade". Archaeologists noted have both the Aztec and ancient Egyptian societies (which are on opposite sides if the world) share remarkable similarities. A real theory is that both were influenced by an alien society-- that's where this premise originated. Like all Indy films, this one simply took a possible theory and expanded on it with a paranormal explanation.

  • I like what Ford said in response to the first question. I think Karen Allen looks great for her age as well as Ford. Ford was no different in this film than the originals in my opinion too.

  • Steven and Goerge are such wonderful speakers they convey everything very well. I love their interveiws. Steven is very detailed I love that.

  • Harison says, "Part of the quest of Indiana Jones has always been for TRUTH, for understanding." However, in Raiders of The Lost Ark, when Dr Jones is introducting archaeology to his students in Marshall College, he says that "archaeology is the search for FACT, not truth", and adds that if they're searching for truth then they should join the philosophy class down the hall. Do I smell a contradiction?

  • I believe you are 100% correct...

  • No, he was talking about what they try and convey in the movies, not what Indiana Jones himself thinks of archeology or adventuring.

  • WONDERFUL!! thanx.

  • The Atomic Bomb was important for the individuals (of that generation) who fought against the Japanese during World War 2. My mother told ME stories on how she witnessed the Japanese (in The Philippines) throwing babies up in the air and letting them drop on their bayonets. After the attack on Pearl Harbor and all the American lives that were taken, the Atomic Bomb was a necessary tool to end that war once and for all.

  • I don't think that's what Spielberg was saying. We ALL know how horrible the atomic bomb has been since it's creation. Yes Japan was devastated by an atomic bomb in WW2. But I don't think someone's society or nation has to be attacked by one in order to understand the emotional effects it can cause seeing it on the big screen.

  • My fault I replied to the wrong person. Disregard please...

  • FYI: Robert McNamara, former Secretary of Defense, disagrees that the atomic bombings of Japan were necessary in the Fog of War documentary. He also seems to make a case that the atomic/fire bombings of Japan were examples of mass murder, beyond the accepted activities of war. Interesting info to consider..

  • Remember Hiroshima and Nakasaki !!!!

    Now Tehran ????

  • That last advice Spielberg made my hairs rise...

  • Cate Blanchett is HOT

  • note that seven tried to make the USA kids practicing in school, equal to JAPAN who actually was Attacked with one. That is the most insensitive thing I have ever heard. Thats like saying I share the horror of the holocaust with a jew because in ww2 I had to practice air raid drills in SCHOOL in my suburban neighborhood! Reminds me of Hillary's comments about ducking enemy fire!

  • you know what? the person who included the Insults to others was GEORGE LUCAS not steven, because look at star wars episode 1. The man insulted EVERY minority group in that movie. The dude is a biggot. His ONLY other movie (besides american graffiti)was a glimps of the future that had All whites in the movie. The man is a moron.

I have never wanted to walk out a movie before but at that one I got LOUD, during the movie insulting the jar jar character.

  • it's also kind of 'sensitive' whenever the japanese release any films with pow camps in it... bridge on the river kwai, anyone?

  • 17. Definitely and absolutely, nuclear weapon cannot be used offensively by any normal people except the psycho.

  • You know fuck all...

  • Actually this movie isn't any cornier than the previous 3..the key to enjoying it is to just sit back with some buttery popcorn, relax and suspend ALL disbelief..enjoy!

  • Back off people. It was a great movie. All though it didn't have the same feel as the original three but it was still good. GET THAT GREASER!

  • I liked the new Indy movie, but i do agree with all of you, the tarzan shit, the fucking "cute" animals and shit like that. But i like it. I thought it was a great movie ..

  • Things i learnt from This movie. Atomic Bomb? Hide in fridge. ET is REAL and he will BURN YOUR EYES OUT.

  • uh yeah dude, your last comment made me laugh so hard that I'm still looking for where my nut fell out. Awesome

  • It was a lead-lined fridge. Hide in one of those. Come on, it was supposed to be different, and wasn't as bad as some make it seem.

  • Ya know you basically just took every thought I had and wrote it before me. I am a huge IJ fan and then this..... this????? I wanted do just stand up and say "DONE" outloud and go home and pop in IJ and the LC..... Absolute garbage

  • boy did that movie suck more than suck!

  • i thought the movie was pretty good, awesome indiana jones jokes. Perhaps the only problem was too many suprises in one movie. Cate Blanchett played well her role as evil one.

  • mmm...Slicing

  • this movie was so disappointing!

  • yeah it lacked that great feeling of the old movies

  • Well...first off...it was 63 years ago...many of the dead's families are still alive and grieving. And MANY are still dying from the radiation to this day.

  • Im emo. Whats so bad about them honestly I want to know.

  • The fact you classify yourself as ANYTHING is bad. The fact that you classify yourself as emo is even worse...at least...if you're a guy....its extremely un-masculine and looked as a joke from most people.

  • uycheporq, yeah it was 40 years ago but seriously. cool off if your grandpa or relative had been killed or affected youd be singing a different song.

And the movie is exactly what harrison says in cannes pt 3, it is just some fun. its indiana jones don't be so critical and be swept away by the magic of cinema, man

  • one of the worst movies i have seen. period

  • Sadly..i have to agree with you. I cannot believe how badly they screwed it up... honestly...it blew me away how bad it was.

  • steven is a master of the craft

  • Ujfortunateley, that's what he's been reduced to...a craftsman.

  • ...why is that a bad thing when that's what ALL filmmakers and artists are?

  • what do you mean by that? and when do you think this reduction took place?

  • Rest in Peace River Phoenix

  • This should be demanded viewing for all of the whiners.

  • I agree with the fact that cameras and youtube make things easier to make, but it also makes the chances of getting them seen a lot slimmer when everybody in the world is competing with you.

  • i agree, thats way i don't produce films for the internet. i only use this media to promote my movies to see it on a big screen or on tv.
