  • I loved this game. And yes, the Pole Vault was hell, but we worked it out in the end. What I hated was the shotput because I had to use this ancient joystick to throw it, and not the keyboard. I used to have friends come over and compete.. racing each other in twos for the track events.

  • This game was awesome, but the pole vault was IMPOSSIBLE.

  • OMG, I loved this game, and I was thinking about it today as I wrote about Steve Jobs. I played this on my Apple II Plus for years. I didn't realize it was a Microsoft game! Oh, the pull vault!

  • what z3J said. this game sold IIe's cos of the keyboard killing it did

  • My dad hated this game! Especially the 100 yard dash with 2 players.

  • I totally wore out my keyboard on this one. Great. Best thing to come from Bill Gates.

  • I always skipped the pole vault one- i could never get the controls down- too hard

  • man, we used to play this alot when I was 6-7

  • Classic! I see they ported Lemonade Stand to the iPhone but it's completely different. Hopwfully someone will make a dosbox program for the iphone.

  • Thanks for reviving a happy memory of my childhood and an Apple II in the attic. I don't remember the game, but I do remember the introduction sequence distinctly, because it was the first time that I ever saw the five olympic rings symbol.

  • Awesome!! It brings me back to being 8 years old. I would love to have a version of this game now but I would smash my keyboard to bits.

  • i used to play this all the time. i remember for the track stuff, you had to go back and forth between 2 keys as fast as you could. BANG BANG BANG BANG...

  • I remember that PC Version, labeled Microsoft Decathlon instead of Olympics Decathlon, and the intro fanfare was in a little lower key.

It was kind of a good game for its time nearly 30 years ago. Certainly, a few years before Epyx would come along with his games.

  • @RCAMPOMAS - and the music would start as soon as the dot reached the i.

  • @flapjaques Correct !. I had forgotten that. Nice old times. Bye.

  • This game was really fun. My Dad use to get pissed because I would pound on the key board to hard and break the buttons.

  • This was the very first Apple II game I ever owned!!!

This was the quintessential olympic themed game, until Summer Games came along, in 1984.

I may still have the diskette for this around here, somewhere..

  • absolute keyboard destroyer that game, but fun.

  • nice logo. shame they dropped it.

  • pure awesomeness.

  • One of the few good things to come out of Microsoft. ;)

  • Totally agree. This was SO COOL. Played on my Apple IIc. With friends, for hours on end.

The music brings me right back!

  • Brings back many happy memories! Top game and probably the original button basher that inspired "Track & Field" etc.
