Why do the Billionaires pay the Millionaires? You can't tell the Billionaires how much to pay their employees. I think the paycuts will actually serve some of the sportspeople right. I think they are overpaid anyway and with too much money doesn't always come a better performance. Sometimes it seems that the more one gets the less they try, because they are simply used to always getting more. Example: David Beckham.

I think it's the players. If the league is losing money, especially in the MLB and NBA were that players are some of the highest paid athletes, the players should be willing to take pay cuts. In my opinion, people in those 2 sports don't really deserve that money in the first place. And in the NFL, I think a few of the higher paid people should take a pay cut, but not to much. Most o their money problems could be solved by more people going to games and buying merchandise.

One way or another, the NFL and NFLPA MUST (I emphasize MUST) find common ground and get to an agreement and avoid a work stoppage. I don't care how big of a bully you are on the block, all bullies have weaknesses. The NFL's (as is all sports's) is the lockout. MLB 1994 and NHL 2004-05 are direct examples of this.

What also pisses me off is how people dont understand how entertainers can/will/should make more than any pencil pusher(banker) ever will. Now i dont know how they calculated the 400 million for the NBA, because what standard were they using? How much is too high for a salary?

An athlete's career can end at any moment, but the billionaire owners generate revenue through a variety of sources...TV revenues, stadium tickets & concessions, jerseys, and revenue sharing. Both greedy. NBA players are grossly overpaid and usually, it's the old guys who can't hack it anymore who are overpaid or guys who played a lot of years with dead weight contracts. the NBA, out of all the leagues, needs to drastically rethink how to pay their players.

The NBA players are not nearly as greedy as the NFL players- and don't get me wrong, I LOVE the NFL and NBA, but there are some players who think that they HAVE to be paid 15 million a year when they could be paid 10 million a year- They say that they grow up dreaming of playing in the pro's? they need to be happy they are in the pros. NBA players make more money than NFL players generally speaking. This is b/c all a NFL players money is not gauranteed. They only have so much money gauranteed to them in their contracts and the rest of the money is based on incentives from their performance. This makes them pretty muched screwed if they get injured. The NBA on the other hand is gauranteed money whether they are hurt or not. If I had my choice of playing in either league. NBA 4 sure. NFL players need to be a bit more greedy.

I agree with you in a way, but I don't they need to be more greedy. I mean, there's 52-54 people on ever NFL team. Although, I do feel they are the most deserving of athletes who as a whole are underpaid, compared to the NBA and MLB. They all should take pay cuts, since even the bench warmers make $1 million a year. And you're right again, NFL players are only guaranteed about 40% of their money. I think, NBA and MLB players need to be LESS greedy and less spoiled.

For a good many years the Milwaukee Bucks gave up before the season even started. And because Basketball is what it is, no one wants to play in Milwaukee. So any good players that come through town we know are going to be leaving. So why should I pay $300 a game for the worst seats in the house for a team thats not trying to be better than mediocre? I'll just save my money for baseball season or watch some Admirals hockey. All sports fans want is to know their team is trying to win.

Tying it into the larger labor dispute, the owner of the Bucks makes money with a losing team or in the case of this year, a mediocre 8 seed who will get embarrassed in the first round. If he had to invest the kind of funds and effort the Lakers do, he couldn't make money on this team.

It's both, owners refuse to dish out money, because they either don't have it or don't have the means to give it up. Then, the players refuse to deal with that pay cut and are too greedy. If you are a young player, you are probably good for awhile with the money you're earning. Then, when you start earning a lot you get this greedy mindset which messes up everything.
