Keep up with the good work ... I love your videos sooo much , they are changing my subconceus with every single video I see... Thanks again for making such high educative videos. I am looking forward to see more of them :) sorry for bad english...
Excellent video! You went far beyond "Cook, it's healthier", and even gave me some new ideas. Being cooked dinner by a male DOES go a long way on a date! Learning a new skill gives confidence and self esteem as people see their skills and the results steadily improve. I like to compare writing a computer program to cooking from a recipe. By the same token, I love looking back at your earliest videos and seeing how much you have improved your public speaking skills and video quality!
I'm vegetarian working on becoming a Vegan and my mom and i cook at home every single day and only go out to eat occasionally. It's way easier to eat a perfectly healthy meal at than to go to some restarant and order a meal but not know what they put in meal or what they did to it.
I don't mind cooking, I just don't have time. If you want to come cook vegetables for me every day I will happily eat them. In the meantime, I gotta put some food in my mouth cuz I got stuff to do, so whatever's fastest is goin' in. =\
Anyhoo, to sum up, I completely agree. A well stocked kitchen and the skils to use it are a HUGE increase in life quality. Im paranoid as well, and I firmly believe that the powers that be are actually trying to actively POISON us with all this high fructose, prepackaged antibiotics bullshit, so who knows, it might lengthen your life by a long shot.
Oh and if your "depreessed" (as any human being living in reality should be to some extent), fixing yourself a nice meal works wonders.
My best friends are some knuckleheaded southern Eye-Tye cooks, they fucking scoff at almost everything in the supermarket and make sure I be eating right. Which is good, because if it wasnt for them , I would be eating a lot of trash.
Interestingly, the fuckin eye-talians have this weird machismo thing where they claim that women dont belong in the kitchen, which I find absofuckinglutely hilarious.
3rd post: If you actually attempt the at work one in the 2nd post, be very careful with the glass dish. It will be *very* hot after 17 minutes of cooking!
One more thing to add about my previous comment. Believe it or not, I can cook this dish at work. Rice cooker takes care of itself. I use a glass loaf dish with a glass top. Cut the red chili into smaller pieces. Add a small amount of water and stir. Cook the entire chili mixture (I have everything pre-done in bags) for around 17 minutes on 70% (~1000watt) It comes out almost as delicious as the pan and takes a total of about 3 minutes hands on time in the break room! Smells delicious!
I make a delicious chili-type of dish. Cook a small serving of rice. (I use my rice cooker.) Then, use a skillet pan and add: 4oz raw chicken breast cut into 1/2 inch strips, half can of black beans, 1 red pepper cut into strips. Add plenty of red chili powder and some salt. Cook it on medium for around 15 minutes with the cover on. (Moisture does wonders for cooking.) Serve the rice on a plate. Pour the chili mixture in the pan over the rice. Sprinkle a bit of cheese over everything. Delicious!
I guess cooking can make you love fine dining too.
When you start cooking and developing your taste, you will be going to fast food or casual chain restaurants mush less... hence saving your money for something special, like having a dinner in a really nice restaurant once a month or fortnight.
@DemonicSymphonic If I was 25 or younger yea, but i'll be turning 30 soon and you know as we get older our metabolism slows down thus the decreased food intake. Peoples bodies are different and other variables that change especially with around other/different ethnic backgrounds. Plus i'm keeping my new years resolution, its difficult though.
I've lost 10 lbs by just eating every other day but eat large portions of broccoli, carrots and baby soy beans. On top of that i take a multi vitamin.
I agree with you but I think leftover is not the right way to encourage people cos the food isn't fresh and heat up again and again isn't healthy either especially using microwave ovens. But your videos are very detailed. I love watching them!
I find it cheaper to eat out with the cost of groceries going up, but not healthy at all. :( please put recipes other than chicken or different chicken recipes in your vid...thanks I love all your videos! :). Thumbs up.
I always like it better when someone else cooks it though. I'm not talking about fast foods or any of that crap, I mean good old style home cooking done by the woman who raised you
I'm unemployed for now so I've been cooking a lot... I've found recipes for some very good food, although It's likely very fattening as well... I'll have to check out your future video now that I've returned to the gym...
Thank you for sharing, this all sounds really yummy. But what about snacks? When you're hungry but don't want to cook an entire meal. Normaly I just eat an avocado. But I'm sure there are plenty of other choices. I mean don't gert me wrong, avocado's are scrumptious, but not everyone likes them. Any pointers?
My mom takes my brother out to eat all the time, and just today, he was told he had 3 cavities. I haven't gone out to eat in years, because when I was younger I realized that when I did go out to eat, I used to get sick an hour or two after. IDK what chemicals they put in their food, but I do know that whatever it was I was extremely sensitive as a child. Finally, everything that I have been trying to tell them has been catching up to them in the form of tooth decay! Healthy teeth feels good.
yeah i like the eventual evolution of cooking at home, its like i couldn't tell you how my wife and i started doing it but now we couldn't live without it.
When we eat out restuarants will add as much sugar, salt, bad fats, flavor enhancers etc. etc. so we will eat as much as possible and come back and do it all over again.. its all a big trick!
@MiaCries thats a good question and the answer has to do with water , more specifically the boiling point of water. capping the cooking temp. @ 100C/212F prevents browning/burning which are chemical reactions where many unhealthy compounds are created that are bad for us. We think they taste 'good' but thats just because of our caveman origins ;)
Very good! I was wandering, what did our ancestors, the cave people's diet consist of? I mean how did they keep their weight down with none of the knowledge we posses today? What would the wife cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and what would they have for a midnight snack?
@007HubbaBubba they were the most fit of all... if anything they were struggling to keep weight. one bad harvest and you starve. you had to go out and hunt or farm the land
Love this video - I started a little over a year ago by clearing the kitchen of high fructose corn syrup - then no fast food, no pre-packaged foods and now to the point - I make everything from scratch - which is good for my 5 year old son whom I am schooling at home.
I would love for you to join me some day on my radio show - I will send an email via facebook or youtube and see if you are interested :)
