When the disease of Allah's Apostle got aggravated, he covered his face with a Khamisa, but when he became short of breath, he would remove it from his face and say, "It is like that! May Allah curse the Jews Christians because they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship." By that he warned his follower of imitating them, by doing that which they did.
First give me any reference where u've read Prophet Muhammad S.A.W has died. show me any proof where sahaba considered him as dead. I've full proofs of sahaba visiting his grave and asking him for help. Shirk is only if we consider him as provider of help from himself not from Allah, while all muslims believe that Allah has given him keys of all treasures of world. Abu'l-Hayyaj al-Asadi told that 'Ali (b. Abu Talib) said to him: Should I not send you on the same mission as Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) sent me? Do not leave an image without obliterating it, or a high grave without levelling It. This hadith has been reported by Habib with the same chain of transmitters and he said: (Do not leave) a picture without obliterating it.
