  • See my post about Samsung bd-p1590

  • I have the BD-P1590 and it doesnt work all the sudden so I tried calling 1-800-samsung and the girl had me try to do a bunch of things. Turn off, unplug, hold the stop button for like 20 to 30 seconds that didnt work. SO then tried doing the same thing except holding the fast forward button then I get hung up on. So I call back and the guy tells me I need a firmware update and that I have to send it out to do that. Um no I shouldnt have to send it away and that I might have to pay forrepair

  • @dennis35791 The firmware update was free but any repairs I would have to pay for that is BS. Samsung should pay for it. Its not that old of a bluray player. So I went to the site and got the firmware update myself. Downloaded it to the USB then put it in the player and nothing it doesnt even recognize the usb because nothing happens at all and its on the settings where I watch the movie. WHAT TO DO ? HELP!!!!! I should just try and return the thing to walmart where I think i got it

  • @dennis35791 Hi Dennis, We're sorry to hear this had happened. Do you have a transaction # from when you contacted Samsung?

  • mine has been "now processing" for an hour an half and im afraid of turning the bp off or taking off the usb flash...i dont know what to do ! help!!!!!!

  • @Dxmpr72 Sorry to hear this is happening. What model do you have? If this is urgent, we recommend calling 1-800-SAMSUNG immeidately.

  • I've attempted a firmware update via ethernet on my BD-P1620 and I think it has bricked. I get a blue screen and 'LOAD' is displayed on the front display. What should I do? :(

  • @kartman415 That is a UK model. We can only support US models from this page. Please contact Samsung Support in the UK for assistance. Thanks!

  • I've followed directions using the USB method but the update is still "updating". It's been 2 hours now...does it take that long???

  • @Sano1970 Sorry for the delay in response. Were you able to get this to update? Let us know. Thanks!

  • @SamsungService It is working now...thank you for the concern! :)

  • @Aurora0Lights You cannot. You can only upload firmware via internet connection, USB or CD. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

  • BD-C5900 - doesn't work

  • @insideriverside Please refer to samsung (dot) com (slash) support for more information on firmware for this particular model.

  • @SamsungService Thx, benn there, done that, for both the BD-C5900 and PN63C8000.

Can't get either to update via usb or net, gonna have to request they send it via snail mail.

  • I can't get it to work on a BD1600 either :-(

  • @phil3012 Hi Phil, Sorry to hear that this isn't working. Go to Samsung.com and the Support tab. From there choose your Blu-ray player from the dropdown menu and click on the "downloads' You can find your USB type download there. Let us know if this works. Thanks!

  • @SamsungService I managed to get it to work eventually with the CD based version. Thanks for the help!

  • @TheGreatodinsbeard Which model do you have?

  • @SamsungService

Excuse me for the language, was just a bit frustrated. I have the BD 1600 model. I tried all of the methods and they didi not work, but the customer service dude said they would send me a firmware update disk so thats cool.

  • @TheGreatodinsbeard Sounds great. Don't hesitate to reach out to us in the future with anymore questions. Thanks!

  • never got the usb update to work (yes, yes I extracted the zip). The ethernet one has worked but no longer - just says it is updated to the latest version when I can clearly see from the samsung website it is not. Finally tried the cd method. And it seems to have worked. Phew, way too much hassle and so frustrating the way my player (bd-p 2500) has had serious playback issues with blu-rays especially - freezing over etc - but also with dvds. Very fussy player.

  • @masterlech We're glad that it is working. Sorry for any inconveiences. Be sure to reach out to us in the future if you do have any questions, we're happy to help.

  • Hey there! What model # Blu-ray do you have?

  • i followed this tutorial as closely as i could but it says that there is no usb connected, how do i fix this?
